3.81/5.00 right? I will advise you to go and write GRE. My CGPA is very close to yours and I just got a partial funding so far. Let me state that I didn't write GRE but I submitted IELTS result. i have 4 publications too. I am expecting two more schools' decisions right now.

Sir...I just finished service this February, 2022. The only work experience I have had is my nysc teaching experience. I studied Zoology and Environmental Biology. Had a gpa of 3.81....so I don't know whether it is high or low. Lol. Although, I'm still job hunting now, although I'm mostly looking towards graduate trainee positions. But I want to know how this applying of masters work...it has always been my dream to work and study in the US. I only have my final year project which I have not published yet.
You can check Clemson University and see what they have for you.
Best of luck

Good evening everyone,
I am new here and I feel alone because I got no response on my first post. I have another question and I hope this one get a response:

I have a PhD offer with full ride and stipend. Now I am married with a child who is in SS3 (I had him before my marriage).

Although no mention has been made of visa type but I am almost certain it would be F1. My child on F2 visa would mean no study for the duration of 5 years I would be studying.

Now, I am considering sending a message to my supervisor to sponsor me on a J1 visa so that my child would have the opportunity of moving forward with his life (University) while I study.

NOTE: I meet all the requirement for a J1 since I got a full funding with stipend from the school (Based on what is on their website).

Do you think I should go ahead with the question or would I appear ungrateful? I am really confused, please I need suggestions.

Again what he did was not a review at all. If the person hadn’t gotten his/her visa already. He could have been demotivated by what you called a review. Review transcripts as a third party and not as the VO sharing the visa…

Anyways, that person got the visa with the same review that said he could not have gotten it[/quote]

He/she got the visa by grace not because the transcript was perfect or anything. Visa approval is by grace! May that grace come upon everyone of us awaiting for same.

Grace Stop discussing Grace when you go to public forum where everyone are anonymous. Not everyone subscribe to your grace or whatever it is… if it’s by grace, pack all of your friends and family to enjoy the grace at the embassy.

The way he reviewed that as the one sharing the visa is what I have problem with. It’s okay to review proposed or real transcripts but do not antagonize it like you are the one granting the Visa

Visa approval is based on whether you meet established immigration criteria for a visa class. Nigerians aren’t the only people to obtain US visas. People of other religions, and no religion at all, are granted visas daily.

Lol grace is not by religion or nationality…you have to go through transcripts on here

Hello everyone,

Wow I have been looking for this thread for a long time, I use to be a part of this thread about 5 years ago before I got my visa to come to the US. I came here on a student visa back then and I learnt so much from this thread.
I see people talking about grace, yes there’s grace but without preparation and confidence grace wont come into place.
Some of my friends have been able to make it here with my help and I always tell them preparation is key.you can pray about it but also be prepared.
first Do you know everything about the school you are going to ? Do you know about the course curriculum? Can you answer questions in a concise manner when the VO ask you? Trust me when I say there’s no magic in this visa thing, once you can convince the VO that you are a genuine student then you already have a 90% chance.

Also, some people just choose to ignore the red flags in their application. Example. You are already in your 30s and you just want to go for a bachelors degree in the US. You will most likely be denied this is because the VO has seen a lot of 19 years olds and 20 year olds going for bachelors and 25 years olds already going for masters/PhD . So why is a 30 year old just going for bachelors, what has he been doing? Sometime you have to think for the VO and ask yourself “ if I’m the VO will I give this person the visa”
Please people research about the school and the course you are going to study. I wish everybody luck in their endeavors.

Please go online and read the requirements limitation of J1 and F1 VISA especially after studies. My advice. Let your child start university education in nigeria. Higher education is very expensive in the USA. From my little knowledge J1 VISA are not eligible to secure job after studies in the USA. Please go online to read the VISAs limitation and requirements.

Yeah I have done my extensive research on this and understand the clauses. I just wanted to know if it wouldn't be too much to ask or create negative impression of me with the supervisor

I don't think you have. F1 dependant that are minors can attend school while in the US.
Anyways, you don't need to change your visa type from F1 to J1 since you said you have a full F1 funding. But allow your son to finish his SS3 and apply for school as well to start his undergrad in the US if you don't want him to stay behind. He will need to write his WAEC Sha so if you're going this Fall, it means you're going with the rest of your family excluding your son.

PS: FQA session are there for a reason.

Good day to my bosses,
Please, I applied for USA study visa in Nigeria which I was denied, I later process another country in Europe to study which am done with the study now. But I want to proceed my education in USA. I want to apply for USA study visa from Europe, my question now is; in my DS160, do I need to state that I have been denied before or it doesn't need since am applying from another country?

Someone told me my Nigeria record won't count if I want to apply from Europe. Please how true is that?

I am a Christian too and understand what you're trying to say, the problem is there are people who fasted and prayed, anointed themselves with oil, and were still denied. Riddle me this, did these people not have the grace of God? It seems to me that many here are equating "grace" with getting the things that you desire in your heart... is this how the scriptures truly define grace? Apostle Paul prayed fruitlessly for God to remove the thorn in his flesh... did he not have "grace"?
