Baba, at this point, everybody go chop blame. Have you watched Ajala over the last 2 months? The height of indifference and selfishness in his stat padding pursuit. His playing style reminds me of Westbrook, when every play was geared towards getting a number for his stat. Ajala may not even realize his new dream of playing with his son (that is, if that one is even drafted) if he keeps playing these heavy minutes because of his knee has gotten worse.
Man's no dey hide the statpaddin again. They play no defense that's why no matter how poor the team they face is 120 points is sure. I doubt Lakers have held any team to less than 115 points this year

11 games under .500, even a 40 year old Jordan 3 years away from basketball still managed 37 wins. Can anyone see the Lakers getting 35 wins?

I think the main reason why he started statspadding is this:

A lot of MJ haters like IT have started saying once he becomes the highest scorer in the league over Kareem he has a clear case at the Goat. Everyone knows the Rings argument have sailed so now it's this.

He should Sha not get injured and end his career quickly grin

Like I always say. Nothing spectacular about this era besides the 3pt spamming

I was thinking, what if they introduce a rule to put a limit to the number of three pointers a team can make in a game?
Say not more than 15 threes attempt in regular minute and 3 in OT?
Would that make sense? Cus it appears a lot of folks believe that the advant of the 3-pointer has made basketball boring...

Guess how many 50+ point scorers we have thus far in the month of March? Consider today is only the 18th day!

Where the hell is the defense in this league/ era?

A better option is to allow more aggressive defense, and give perimeter defenders more benefit of the doubt. The hand check rule also needs to be repealed. It will kill some peoples games, eg the Harden, Klay etc and tilt the game back towards skilled bigs and big guards. Just my own opinion.

I do talk am before say @Birdman get execution list and Harden dey on top dat. Lol. Harden show am pepper for Houston, Birdman can never forgive the guy. Lol.
Re: The NBA Begins by birdman(m): 9:26pm On Mar 18, 2022
Lol, I have very little ill will towards Harden. I no get energy abeg grin

Sometimes, I actually pity him, because I dont think he fully grasps what it means to sacrifice to win - the guy is addicted to partying. Like I told Roland17, I really want to see how Embiid handles this if the playoff dreams do not materialize this year.

Also, allow post defenders/ player a fair contest on low post scoring.

Nothing infuriates me more than watching low post defender just stand helplessly with both hands up under the rim and still get called for a foul!

I actually respect IT's dedication to the Jordan hate, this man has been hating Jordan longer than I've been alive and who can blame him? Jordan denied him a repeat, denied him an Olympic gold

Anyone that understands basic math shouldn't even be using highest scorer in the league as an argument. The people that had Lebron as their goat already did so before the Disney ring anyway. Same way we on the Jordan side do not believe there is anything he can do to pass Jordan it is what it is

Well to some nerds this style of basketball is the best and most skilled in history. I don't think they are going to alter these rules anytime soon. However we have seen that basketball is really a game of trends and once the 3point spamming stops winning (which we are starting to see somewhat come playoff time) teams would start making some changes.

I'm not upset about it. It just irritates me when people go on about how the current league is so much better when we can clearly see that teams are simply shooting more 3s than have ever been shot

Can defense really be played? It's more hoping your opponent has a bad shooting night. Everybody is pulling up from 28ft. If a team makes 5 in a row or 7 out of 10 and the other team starts cold. They are down 15, guess what they also have to spam more 3s to get back in the game. Play less defense cause you need your legs under you and upper body torque to launch. Defense flies out the window

Thank you for pointing this out, it's a case of offense is the best defense when the 3s are falling. As for the spate of high points scored, it occurred to me that we have always seen 38 - 42 pts roll out from guys in the 80s, 90s, and 2000s. This happen when guys, sometimes even role players, get hot and are in the zone.
The difference now is, instead of the long 18- 20ft long 2s, guys are taking 3s. Those additional 1 point just adds up and it makes it seem like it is something new.

The issue as far as I see it, is not that they think it's a case of better basketball. It is that they know that this is smarter basketball. In the OG days you will see a role player who somehow gets the ball stepping in and taking a jumper from around 18ft, and making them at a clip of, around the low to mid 40%.
Nowadays, that same player will not take that same little forward dribble, to take the 2, but he will shoot the 3, if he makes it at anything above 35% and can defend, he becomes a member of the scarce 3nD club.
So you have a situation where the agent and the development staff in the team are in lockstep in regards to the skillset they want a role player to develope and improve upon. The Team trainers believe that will help the team and the agent knows his client can parlay that skillset into a 10+ years career, where they can earn 80-100 million dollars in career earnings.

You mean this dumpster fire Lakers team got destroyed by Tingus Pingus in the 4th after being up by 16 grin

To put in perspective Michael Jordan at 40 with no Allstar finished 35-47. LeNomad with all the statpaddin will need to go at least 5-6 just to match this despite having 3 top 75 players in his squad. Nasty work

We need to continue with this momentum, finish strong and as high as possible. We absolutely have to avoid the Nets because they are a bad match up in a 7 game series. Big credit to Ime, he is proving his worth and value with how organized and intense this team plays.

Our Akwa Ibom brother really doing well.

You worry too much about the Nets. They play too poor defensively to be a threat. I actually see Boston as a dark horse. And looking at the East Boston can still finish as high as 2nd seed.

Ime is proving he can be trusted with higher expectations and investments with this team. One thing I did not want “Wyc” to do and I am glad he did not, was to bail Ime with big trades after he first arrived and the results were poor.
Ime has stamped his identity on the team, rebuilt the culture of our defense and now our offense is jelling with the 1-2 punch of the Jays. 2 players the main stream media were convinced can not play together but Ime stuck with them and rebuffed trades for JB and now it is paying huge dividends.
Outside of the Nets/Bucks, I don’t really fear any other team in the East if we arrive the playoffs healthy. The Heat will be tough but I think we have finally figured how to score against Spoelstra’s zone defense.

The defense issue should be sorted if Ben Simmons makes it back before play offs

I still feel Lebron's intensity this late in a lost season is a foolish and lost cause, but I have to give props where its due. When the guy said he wasnt going to quit, he meant it. It takes a special breed to still lay it out on the floor every night. And it sets a very good example for the rest of the team. We play hard till the end.
