While others after filling the application form. They just ghost you
I was wondering if they used those exact words you might have a case for discrimination. I would have said discuss with a lawyer if you could stand to get some serious money for that stupidity

Rubbish...you are a oyinbo ass licker. Talking about she would have never given you the job if she knew you were Nigerian, I bet you she as never had a negative experience with a Nigerian before just bullshitting you. I know them very well, she is nothing but a bloody coded racist, you are just their token negro. She is patronizing you by telling you that you are different from all those bad negros. She is actually insulting you, but you are too dumb to realize. I would told her to take a hike and go to hell with her job.

Bros, are you okay? Is all well with you?

It seems someone has offended you. Why all the venom. Tell us your own story rather than pouring out hate.

Life is better than the glasses you are looking through presently.

Your friend lied. No international organization will discriminate based on nationality and openly declare so. Didn’t say it can’t happen but they would never say it happened.

I have worked internationally for a decade

Thing is the role may have been one restricted to say US Nationals for tax or work permit reasons

I blame people from the 80s 70s who are unable to educate us we'll about our president very well

They could have told us what we should be expecting...

Imagine buhari get to spent more 50years...and he wants to contest again in the next 30years...

I'm pretty sure we that experience his government in 2015-2023... We will definitely stop our children from voting for him

They did. But the youth were swept by the offensive charm APC put up. They hadn't seen such an "Americanized" campaign with a singular focus: Change. I was a toddler in Buhari's first junta. I clearly remember WAI soldiers flogging my mother for what I later found out to be milk. Scarcity of Esenco (Essential Commodities) had reduced Nigerians to line up to purchase bread and sugar and milk

Yes, I remembered working for a popular Canadian website community with over 200,000 members as an SEO expert. I worked 2 to 3 hrs per day from Monday to Friday, and I was paid $200 per week back then. The CEO complained that he can't pay a Nigerian that much because the minimum wage in Nigeria was barely $70. He later terminates the job after 2 weeks because he feels I am earning too much as a Nigerian.

Wow that's crazy

The man is wicked

Well apart from tribe favourite...

I knew the Igbos ain't supportive with Buhari becoming the president from day 1... I actually thought they were against him because the power was shifting to the north...

But to be honest I was close to the Yorubas and I must say 75% was in support of buhari election...

I wanna ask..did he personally dealt with the Igbos during his regime then? ...

I lost out on a $1200 per week job few months ago because i mentioned the word, Nigeria. I was supposed to earn roughly $5,000 monthly and the project was to continue for a year plus. I eminently qualified for it cause I met all the requirements they sought for.

It happens we move. I ended up getting a replacement with the same figure sha. Today I work with three major firms, One an Asian firm and two American firms. With the quality of projects I've pushed over the past year with them, they will never hire a non-Nigerian again. I made sure i over-deliver with every project to reinforce this narrative

Good evening Mr Ola,

I've also been trying to find a remote job since last year but no luck. It might be that it's because of me being a Nigerian because I met all the qualifications.

Mr. Ola please Sir hire me as your virtual assistant. I want to be helping you with you tasks. It doesn't matter how much you decide to pay me but I want to be your virtual assistant Sir

On Upwork, I have lost a lot of clients because I'm Nigerian.

I send them brilliant proposals for jobs I am very sure I can handle.. And I send these proposals when the total proposals submitted by other pitchers are not up to 3, but yet, I'm being dumped to the side... Nothing spoil, LinkedIn got my back, and Nairaland has been helpful too...

I'm Naija and I'm proud... We meuvvve

By the way, I'm available for your writing and graphics design jobs, see my signature below, thanks
Boss, can we connect and discuss about LinkedIn?

Been bombing the site for 2 months now still nothing. Talked to some people and got interviews but nothing. Feel like there is something I can do more. Pls help a bro.

Btw, I am on Upwork and I am not really a newbie

Yeah. back in 2015 or thereabout, it's stupid how most foreigners think that all Nigerians are into frauds, just because of some unscrupulous elements tarnishing the image of Nigeria globally.

that was how I lost almost $7k on a web designing job, I felt really bad though but that didn't deter me from chasing my dreams.

Good evening Sir

I'm sorry about your $7k loss sir

Sir please I want you to hire me as your virtual assistant. It doesn't matter how much you'll pay me at the end of the month but please hire me as your virtual assistant sir

JP Morgan will never write you an email and tell you that they rejected you because you are Nigerian. Never!

At best they might say they are recruiting only US-based writers.

I have clients literally on every single continent and never once has my nationality been an issue. Because my work speaks for itself.

I have been doing this for almost 10 years btw.

So many are not computer programming related. I got a client that needed me only for email communication. All I did was respond to emails of aggrieved customers @ $8/hr for 40hrs/week. On the very first day of work, they were so condescending and insulting, I wondered if it was because I am a Nigerian abi that is their nature. I almost developed hypertension in those few hours, so I told them to end the contract and they did the next second.

Good evening dear

Is the job still available? I'll like to do it

Great job mate. Now, this is what i'm talking about. Over-delivering in a way and manner that shocks them to the spine that after the experience, they'll be seeking to find us in people. You did a perfect job brother.

Why you nor marry the chick na? Make you kuku collect the whole bag grin

tongue

Anyway, I once exchanged 107 emails with an American who was as shocked as this one. The client said he couldn't believe that throughout the 107 email exchanges, there wasn't a single grmamatical flaw. And the expressions were top-notch.

If we increase our value, we will attract the clients who may consider us worthy..

Let me be a trouble maker

I know of two ISPs that you can easily hit 60Mbps on their dedicated plans. Fiber to home. I'm on one of them because I have to be on calls to SD in CA for work. 8 hours back to back calls.
