Why overindulging that bloody racist, should have told her to take a hike. Learn to have some dignity and how to put this bloody racists in their place. And you are proud your job in their family is to vet Nigerians for them, you must suffer from a serious lack of esteem and self worth.

Please shut up.

So many are not computer programming related. I got a client that needed me only for email communication. All I did was respond to emails of aggrieved customers @ $8/hr for 40hrs/week. On the very first day of work, they were so condescending and insulting, I wondered if it was because I am a Nigerian abi that is their nature. I almost developed hypertension in those few hours, so I told them to end the contract and they did the next second.
LoL Poco grin you should have hired out a big chested guy that could chest the insults like it's nothing... I'm currently searching for that kind of jobs. grin

I have countless times online just because I'm a Nigerian. Seriously it's painful. You will begin to ask yourself why did God allow the people in power to be power.

Sorry to bother you, I am registered on Upwork as Copywriter. Just a little over 2 weeks now, I keep sending proposals which I consider good enough, but I'av never been invited for interview yet. I just want to know if there is something I am not doing right. I know I am good.

Lucky to get 2 from uk and 1 from finland handling their CRM software and web management respectively.
.
As a nigerian also target smaller eu nations and those with little time zone difference
I just got a rejection mail from an ecommerce agency based in Serbia as a Media buyer. The thing still dey pain me. I made it to the final stage and asked fir $2400, only to be rejected.

How do you get clients? Like I need a breakthrough like this sad cry

Yes, average EU countries like Poland and Lithuania.

Language could be a barrier too, Out of desperation years ago i contacted a Japanese company, during the interviews to hear them properly was trouble. Couldn't understand their poor English accent.
how do you get these clients? How can I reach them? Cos I've used LinkedIn tire and redit too cry

That's the secret. Currently, my employers" Americans " will never hire a non-Nigerian easily. I made sure of this. I worked on my deliverables in such a way now that the platforms i get projects now automatically direct projects to me without me even seeking for jobs. I managed to climb to the top ranking in my service filed( As a Nigerian ), and on the global scale, i rank extremely high
what do you do?

On Upwork, I have lost a lot of clients because I'm Nigerian.

I send them brilliant proposals for jobs I am very sure I can handle.. And I send these proposals when the total proposals submitted by other pitchers are not up to 3, but yet, I'm being dumped to the side... Nothing spoil, LinkedIn got my back, and Nairaland has been helpful too...

I'm Naija and I'm proud... We meuvvve

By the way, I'm available for your writing and graphics design jobs, see my signature below, thanks

Please can you guide on how to set up a successful freelance account on upwork

Oh...I get
I'm sorry about that..

You see we need to unite?...
If we are close to each other...we could have learnt alot about this man from your tribe and what he did to you people...

But instead we love to stay apart and even mess up ourselves here on nairaland...

Anyway the lost sufferness he brought to Nigerian people is about to be exhausted...he will leave the office and I'm sure we will never have someone like him again...

Quick question.. what do you guys think about tinubu...
Yorubas generally don't fancy him..but they can be easily manipulated when the election time comes...

Sorry if that sound offensive...
It's just a normal way we have conversations with people here in north America... I'm very sorry ..

So I'm just trying to get the Igbos view on Tinubu... I'm saying this because we really can't control the election in Nigeria... It's either PDP or APC... And if Tinubu will be representing the party .... He may likely win...

The problem isn't with "you guys". It's with the assumption that I am Igbo.
Most of what you said here have given a way your political leanings. Very hard to mask those. I'm not Igbo. I am from the south but not Igbo. For a lot of Yoruba (which a lot of things suggest that you are), any southern non Yoruba is automatically Igbo. This is not correct. Regarding voting for Tinubu, I am not a fan and he would not be the first person I would vote for. I will however vote for him under certain stringent conditions which I am not going to discuss here.

I know of two ISPs that you can easily hit 60Mbps on their dedicated plans. Fiber to home. I'm on one of them because I have to be on calls to SD in CA for work. 8 hours back to back calls.

Please kindly give me the ISP info. Greatly appreciated

Don't stress over it. Good ones will come. I lost an Israeli, gained another Israeli who not only gave me a job that fetched me a profit of 1.7m naira in 10 days but also paid upfront and to make it easier, he chose bitcoin which means I didn't need to go through all those paypal stress. Same person called me yesterday for an even bigger project which will be so so helpful for me. What's yours can't be given to someone else

Yours will come eventually.

Keep keeping on bro.

I lost out on a $1200 per week job few months ago because i mentioned the word, Nigeria. I was supposed to earn roughly $5,000 monthly and the project was to continue for a year plus. I eminently qualified for it cause I met all the requirements they sought for.

It happens we move. I ended up getting a replacement with the same figure sha. Today I work with three major firms, One an Asian firm and two American firms. With the quality of projects I've pushed over the past year with them, they will never hire a non-Nigerian again. I made sure i over-deliver with every project to reinforce this narrative

Can you kindly give the names of the ones that employed so I can try them out

Very off putting. Personally I don't have problems with ndi Igbo. In fact, most Igbo people start speaking Igbo to me when they see me because apparently I "look Igbo" so me I have learned to live with that. But to just assume that I Igbo because I am a non-yoruba southerner, that's completely not acceptable. But I somehow understand where that comes from sha.

Like I said earlier, I'm sorry if that wasn't proper..

Maybe you right about Yoruba people and how they see people from the SS...

I don't have that mentality...
I served in SS ...I deeply have full understanding and difference between a full Igbo and a SS man or woman that appears to look Igbo to a naive person...

Absolutely...I guess I have same view abt the APC candidate... His has got a good record in Lagos based on economic, infrastructure and development of the state...

I believe if we get to a point with no choice... I may probably recommend him...
