Initiate renewal of passport. Use this current one (so far you get your visa before Aug 18, you are fine with it).

Others NLs might have better approach

I’ve tried renewing it but they said I have to wait till September when it’s 6months. Will my DS-160 go through when I put in my passport issue and renewal date and it’s less than 6months to start the program?

Please I need help, can I get any cheap school in US for MSc, I came out with 2.2 and really need schools to apply for MSc in US.
Please help a sister
sure, there are lots of schools in the u.s that will offer you Msc admissions with 2.2 cgpa especially if it's on a 3.00 scale, but in some cases if it's less than 3.00 then you will be offer to write a GRE test. So shoot your shot dear, u are good to go. I recommend Salem State University. Good luck

Good morning guys.
I need clarification on my Sevis payment. I was to attend university of Illinois Springfield in fall 2021 but I could not, as I was denied so I never went to US. Now I plan on attending another school. I’m kind of lost because typically I don’t think I would have a Sevis record with UIS so there might not be anything to transfer.
Additionally, I saw on old thread here that I just need to contact my new school and have them send me a new sevis ID so I can input it the fjmpee portal and I’d be using the new one. Anyone with any idea about this should please assist. Thank you guys.. any help please?

Thanks for your response, what I was actually asking is how did you process your transcript at exams and Record in Uniben, cost and timeline.

Thanks
oh k, its don online, just go to the business centers around exams and records, they will apply online for you, and the transcript application fee is 35,000. Make sure you must have been done with the WES registration and a WES reference number must have been assigned to you b4 proceeding to for the online transcript application.
The time duration varies, if it's your first time of applying for a transcript from uniben it's normally takes 2 to 3months, but if you have collected transcript before now it means your records will be readily available at exams & records and by this means your transcripts should be sent to WES in less than 1month max.

Lols. This na my transcript oooo. I don't think I can ever forget that day. Jan 13th, 2022. Even me myself know say I fumbled Infront of the VO, I couldn't speak up cos rate of rejection that moment was so high. My confidence flew away as if my village people was at work, lols. Here I am in Cookeville, Tennessee. Na pure grace and luck me get oooo.

Iamhighbee70777:

Lol grace is not by religion or nationality…you have to go through transcripts on here and you see that interviews at times can be beyond criteria just being met, for instance the below

I want to wish everyone of us a successful outing at any embassy. It's not easy but with luck and favour from our creator, we will pull through. Thanks to everyone that has contributed in one way or the other.

Here is my transcript.

First attempt
Location: Abuja
COA: $37,248
Funding: $35,052
Deficit: $2200

VO: Good morning
Me: Good morning.

VO: let's start with you biometrics.
Me: okay. I placed my fingers and all were captured.

VO: Thank you
VO: So you are going to Tennessee technological university for you masters program in chemistry right?
Me: Yes

VO: What do you intend to do after the program
Me: I intend to return back to Nigeria(VO cuts on)

VO: please speak up.
Me: now in louder voice - I intend to come back to Nigeria (VO cuts in)

VO: congratulations, I will be approving your visa, take this white paper to guide you in collection process, congratulations to you
Me: Thank you.

Even though I believed that my DS-160 was well detailed,I still need no one to tell me that I was lucky today.

There’s no crime actually doing it... coming back to the country to impact it with whatever we gain from there

To be honest, I really do not understand America's stance on Permanent Residency. I would like to study in USA but
I don't know what their PR is obtained. How do you secure a permanent residency in USA. Is it possible or is there a pathway to getting a PR in America through study route?

Hello,

I don’t see anything wrong with the question. Unless the US doesn’t have any legal pathway to residency after studies which we can say if that’s the case.

Both... To study Masters program in USA, complete studies, get Post Study Work Permit, and get a Residency Permit (PR) to remain in USA indefinitely. What is USA system? I understand Canada and UK, but I don't understand America's pathways to remain in USA after graduation. I don't even understand how to determine which American Universities offer Post-Study Work Permit.. I don't know these things well. I need a guide or a breakdown of details

If you have a partial scholarship from your school, do you fill your school as your sponsor on DS-160 or do you fill the person paying the deficit?
