I still blame Igbo women for this.
Especially the Educated ones and their legal luminaries.

If they had created a pan-igbo NGO supported by full legal teams to represent these women in court, these yeye men would have learnt by now.

With the above story, what can you say happened that resulted to a family locking their wife outside the husband's house.

Just wickedness and greed.

The poor man is no more, and the extended family wants to quickly sell the house and share the money.

If she was legally married to the man, I don't see how the family will win in court.

This is savage and wicked. The igbo culture is barbaric and backward. This is unfair, honestly. Once a man dies in the savage. Flat lands the family (brothers) are quick take charge of his property. Imagine a woman who is grieving . Well the igbo people buy their wives anyway.

just look at your very blank answer.... Heard "worse stories in uroboh" and "delta". If it happened in, delta, then its in d ibo speaking part of delta, not in uroboh parts of it. Y saying that av sworn with generation life to paint Ibo's black as if d ibo doesn't forbid a woman inheriting properties, by saying she will marry, Sony transfer a mans things to his son in law indirectly

you think they won't rather kill her than go to prison. In some cultures where women are bought and paid for like slaves this kind of thing is almost inevitable.
God forbid.what an evil family

I thought they all billionaires already in Anambra, what do they wan to do with her house?
Only a foolish fool builds a house in her man's name especially in a region where people kill themselves over properties and women are even denied inheritance.
When the man had 4 trucks, why was it the woman that built the house with her money?

Abeg use small sense. What was wrong in building a house in her husband's name if they had a loving and joyful relationship?

What has it got to do with the amount of billionaires in the state?

Also how are we sure of the lady's claim without listening to the other party? How are you sure it was not planned to elicit sympathy?

Thank God I dismissed my girlfriend when I told her I can't continue the relationship because of her identity which is associated with wickedness and evil.

She was surprised of my findings.
Let me share this to her to clarify more our relationship has to end even though she didn't cheat on me, can't have such mindless in-laws. Chukwu aju ife njo!

You can only win a case that has been decided. As long as the woman is legitimately married to the man and her children are truly his, then his property automatically belongs to his wife and children. The law is clear on inheritance so I don't see how the family is "winning" a case that is yet to be decided Ma. [/quotme]

Stated above is your own judgement but not the naija chief judge we know. Fat pocket wins the case in court.

Mehn, sensitive issue but I must share this. Those who do intertribal marriages especially if the lady is from a different tribe, be careful. I know of a wealthy family. The man married a woman from the Yoruba tribe. He has a big pharmacy in a lucrative location and properties everywhere. He died in mysterious circumstances, his brothers came to take over the pharmacy and his properties sidelining his widow and son. Son was gunned down in mysterious circumstances inside town, wife is down with stroke just like that.

Like how do grown men sit around waiting for their brother to die so they can take over his properties

It's not common in the north ( never read such)
I have from delta and I have never heard such a thing happened in my tribe(urhobo)[/quote

There is.

Even during marriage, in Urhobo/Isoko lands, the woman may not be aware but dem go don put something for ground say if she later leaves her husband( may still be binding after divorce), something bad may happen to her, if not death....

See, I no fit defend my SS people as we all with the East do such, just that the Easterners do their with abandon...Most SS widows dey shave hair after death of hubby.

The only saving grace is an enlightened widow who knows her right... She may 'sheepishly' comply with the nonsense law of shaving her hair to mourn her husband but that is the end of it...Na lawyers she go take settle property matter.
