Are these the people that claim to oppose boko haram?

They all share the same goals.

It should be noted that to a fundamentalist all other religions/belief systems are also blasphemy

The north should embrace their caliphate and break away. Democracy is also unislamic. Stop trying to have your cake and eat it

You guys are very annoying, always speaking for us. How do we share same goals with Boko Haram because of this? There are set of laws you're supposed to follow, he knows this law and he knows he's going to be punished if he breaks the law and he still went ahead to do it and now he's being punished by the law.
How does this back your claim sir?

Are laws made for man or man for laws ?

Is God incapable to punish those who have sinned against him ?

Did God ask anyone to revenge on his behalf ?

The Tax payers money that will be used to convict and jail this brother for 24 hard years, won’t it be of better use to be diverted to promoting the religion of Islam ?

We must always remember we are first humans before we are anything else. Africans will never change for better until we stop to coin our culture and religion to suit hate, murder, injustice, pride, discrimination, lies, deceit and greed.
If every religion jails those who blaspheme against them, I wonder if there will be space in jail for this innocent man.

Peace.

But a terrorist can kill and maim and be forgiven and termed repentant in the north?

And you think we're with buhari on that? People that killed and raped our women? Destroyed homes? Buhari is a big fool.

Good for them. Let them go through the way of their own cross for their own believe. There were many deaths of deciples for Christian to establish their believe. Any "believe" contend with one another. Which ever believe dominate carry the mind of men. More like survival of the fittest believes.

The naive enlighten atheist don't know this. They think they can just unearth a believe and establish a new one jus like that. Ask paul the apostle ask christ. They pay with their lifes. You lucky you doing just 28yrs.

Them need to behead some of Una for Una to get the point. maybe in the next life or after life una go get respect for any establish order you meet.

Is Nigeria an Islamic country? You hypocrite.

I thought you Muslims say Sharia only applies to Muslims, so why the hell is he in prison?

Imagine if Hindus started charging you with blasphemy for eating beef!

that can only happen in the north hope you not.

She can stay in the west, east or south south and blaspheme and nothing you guys can do about it. Afterall she isn't even a Muslim and neither a Christian.
You should know this law only affect those living in the north.. not the entire country.

Someone can curse Muhammad from far away ABA or Rivers or AKwa IBOM or Lagos, or Ekiti, and nothing will happen.

Highest you bring police come and her people and police go fight.

So calm down.

By the way I don't support the man, he is foolish. You know where you come from and you know you're living in the north and you have the mind to insult their prophet.. it's stupidity. Good for him

So why haven’t those twerps arrested BH and bandits killing innocent people in the name of allah while reciting the Quran? Except that’s exactly what their religion is all about.

Of course it only applies to the north. When Muslims are a minority, they can't do shit and pretend to be peaceful people.

When Muslims become a majority, their true colours show.

Freedom of speech bro. Freedom of choice, if he spreads such on social media. They should have complained to the right channel and if it affects human right, he'd be banned from Twitter, Facebook and whatever else

Any reasonable legislative system will place blasphemy under free speech...The only systems where blasphemy is punishable are religious either overtly (like Saudi Arabia) in the name of offending religious sentiments)...

The problem with these religious laws is that they punish people for doing things that don't harm anybody like gays having sex and so on.. these are entirely personal choices for the actions not resulting in harm for anyone else...

If you don't believe that someone else's god/prophet isn't a real god/prophet then you shouln't get all worked up when that someone tells you that your god/prophet isn't real either...

The case of blasphemy is doubly funny cos every religious cleric blasphemes on other religions...For example the first chapter of Qur'an labels the Jews and Christians as the cursed ones and those wo have gone astray... Imagine a non-muslim saying something similar about Islam/Muslims .. the extremists would be shouting blaaasphemeee... grin

Religion is supposed to thrive on comparison with other religions...Show what is wrong with other religions and invite followers of those religions to your religion.... undecided.. it's that simple..

Kindly read the blasphemy laws before you comment on social media, a million likes by lay men ain't worth it.

You make a very strong case here supporting why you should not interfere with other people opinion especially when the other party does not believe in other people opinion

My question is simple, if I say gay and transgender goes against the natural process and I don't subscribe to it, why then am I called homophobic and harrassed
That is my opinion and won't believe in the other party brain washing process cos they are not equally convincing.

Aren't they also guilty of the same logic and processes they have even garner court cases to ridicule my belief system

You spit on my right to believe in a religion... Still the same mistake.

I am a Christian who believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins and won't force anyone or critical of other people opinion

How can an atheist be tried for blasphemy when he does not believe in any religion

Religion of peace gang doesn't accept that, they say once a Muslim always a Muslim, that is why they kill or imprison those who want to leave Islam.

Converting to Islam is basically a death convent.

STRAIGHT UP ASSASSINATION SOUNDS MORE REASONABLE THAN THIS BECAUSE HOW CAN SOMEONE BE FOUND GUILTY FOR BLASPHEMY (WITHOUT TRIALS, I KNOW) AFTER BEING HELD UNLAWFULLY FOR MANY MONTHS, AND NOW SENTENCED TO PRISON FOR OVER 20 YEARS?
THIS IS A MOCKERY ON THE NIGERIAN JUDICIARY SYSTEM. I'LL BE DUMBFOUNDED IF THIS RUMOR IS ACTUAL FACTS AND THE NBA LET'S IT STAND.

Nigeria is just a terrible place to live. They can sentence this guy to 24 years for so-called blasphemy. But they can't even sentence one politician or corrupt public office to 1 or 2 years for corruption? What kind of joke is this?
