When Jesus is called God, it doesn't mean God in his Father's essence.

God obviously knew what he said. He showed in the verse that Jesus and Jehovah are two separate beings.
He didn't say the word that was with GOD is the is the GOD.
The same John wrote that Jesus has a God and a Father. The same John said GOD Himself called some men Gods.

Let me ask another question, How many fathers do we have? Is Jesus Christ our Father?
