How can someone think that studying was a bad option and still wish he had studied computer science.
Anybody can be a guru in computer knowledge, but only few know law

There are more lawyers on the street than those called to bar. Ask around, not anybody can be a computer guru.

Hmmmmmm!
As a physicist, your options are unbounded and limitless!
The physics in it's raw form may not have much application in the Nigerian labour market except for education (teaching) but one can maximize the cross functional industries.
You could move into programming if your are smart or computer networking. You already have a solid base in programming. Don't know about the school you graduated from but in Unizik, the physics undergraduate students take about 12 credit load courses in programming.
Or you could also move into networking. Do internship and acquire certifications.

Another hotspot is the intersection of machine learning and physics especially wrt to particle physics. Physics Professors in the US are aggressively looking for physicists that understand machine learning techniques.

It's lack of orientation. What oversabi1 said is the truth.

this is a blatant lie, all this recycling or reshaping of the truth and putting the bitter truth in a subtle way is the reason children keep falling into the same pit, not all courses are the same and not all courses are paying but.u had better go for a future u see, than to have faith on a dead course,

You may be right in one sense. But, one man's food maybe another man's poison. In a nutshell, what you call a dead course maybe a lively course to another person. So you may be right, do not forget that what you call the future maybe unpredictable too. some People study medicine, engineering and the likes yet still have no jobs.

Are you on FB?

I am but I'll advise you to start watching YouTube videos on how to get fully funded scholarships in the US, Canada and Europe.

Search on YouTube, academic Twitter and LinkedIn, you'll see.

I haven't gone yet but mine is working out by God's grace.

What most of you on this thread fails to recognize is GOD'S counselling, you refuse to seek GOD first and knows His plan for your life. That is why you all are regretting now,

BUT AS FOR ME, I WILL NEVER HAVE ANY CAUSE TO REGRETS IN LIFE OVER MY DECISIONS AND MY COURSE OF STUDY FOR THEY ARE BONDED IN GOD'S LOVE. THE PLANS OF GOD FOR MY LIFE SUITS ME BEST.
THANK YOU JESUS.
Funny nigga, you are doing like the most religious student about to graduate, if you like be doing holy holy don't read comments and seek advice. As if there are not many people holier than you in church. If it's but holy holy, you think there would be any non christain that would be rich. The 1st and 2nd richest man in your country is not even holy, he is not even a christain

Read good engineering courses

Mechanical engineering (U can diversify)
Electrical engineering
Mechatronics
Computer engineering (can also diversify into software)
Civil Engineering

True but the thing is, spending all that time in uni is not worth it except it’s medicine.

My advice to everyone:

Even if na Yoruba Education dem give you, try to graduate with a 2:1. Why? Big 4 accounting firms and multinational companies would employ you with any degree in as much as its a 2:1.
Also, with a good grade, you have the opportunity of getting foreign scholarships and your own don better if na STEM. Your own don better pass everybody own if you were able to publish your final year project.

I am talking as a university lecturer who schooled outside Nigeria. The moment I see talent that is wasting, I would grab it like hawk wey dey thief chicken and mentor the person. I have seen a first class finance grad stay jobless for 6 years. Write ICAN, e nor gree. Open LinkedIn, mba no. Oya na wetin you wan do with your life? “I want to be a lecturer”. This lecturer work wey me sef wan try to escape? Your village people no try.

Again, I am seeing many of my ex students approaching me to write papers and put their names on it as co author so they can use it to gain scholarships. Same students that were extremely disrespectful and refused to be serious with their project when they were students. Me, I should use my money to do research and I will now spend 150k to publish and I should add your name? Can you do analysis? No. Do you have a laptop? No. Will you pay for the secondary data? No. You try.

In a nutshell, I am begging you all in the name of God to be serious with your project.

Medical courses. I have never seen a jobless doctor or nurse seeking for job a year after graduation. I will advise you go to school of health if you can't go to school of nursing or university. Reject this advice if your parents are rich.

I did Elect/Elect (power and Machine option)
I graduated 2013
Never worked in any Engineering firm since.
So?

DontBullshitMe:
The courses worth studying in Nigeria are ;

Medicine and Surgery
Elect/Elect Engineering
Mech Engr
Computer Science
Civil Engineering
Pharmacy
Nursing

And maybe Law

In short ; Professional courses and courses that are practicable in an average society.

Studying a non professional course and a non - STEM based course is almost a sure way to poverty if your parents are not well connected. Imagine a guy with struggling parents studying Zoology, Botany, Linguistics, Classics, History, Philosophy etc. Nah big suffer ooh.
