This your swipe on my State is condemnable. That Wike is behaving the way he does, shouldn't rub off on his predecessor nor Rivers people.

Is like labelling all Americans as being like Donald Trump.

We have had governors in time past who were perfect gentlemen with finese and carriage that was befitting of the office.

Wike was an imposition by Jonathan and his wife on us. And he is one accident of history that will never happen in Rivers state again.

How Nigerians are able to comfortably deny responsibility after just a few years of dissatisfaction with those they gleefully voted into power is one puzzle which I still can't unravel.
I can't believe that this same Wike whom nearly every Rivers State native here on NL spoke glowingly of and bathed in accolades of being the bold and courageous son of the soil who saved the State from Amaechi's alleged plot to hand it over to APC and by implication the Sokoto Caliphate and also eulogized for being Amaechi's nemesis for assisting Fulani in removing Jonathan is the same Wike now being described as an imposition and accident caused by Jonathan and his wife. Are you suggesting that majority of Rivers State voters preferred to vote for Amaechi's candidate in the APC back then (Peterside or so) and Jonathan used federal might to rig the election in Wike's favour? This is very funny.
It was the same way these crop of Nigerians voted massively for Obasanjo in cahoots with the North in 1999 and 2003 only to turn around later on to accused the North of imposing Obasanjo on Nigeria as if they came out into the streets on voting day and held people's fingers to thumbprint.

During my visit to Portharcourt as recently as April last year Wike was still the man of the people in the eyes of an overwhelming majority of the natives who still held strongly to the opinion that he was their choice in the ballot in 2019 and that a Tonye Cole declaration by INEC as winner would have sparked off a wild and uncontrollable violence as it would have meant massive rigging of the election by Amaechi with federal might.

So when exactly did all these perceptions of Wike suddenly change?

Wasn't it these same Deltans that were all defending Obaseki as being a victim of Oshiomhole's machinations because he wanted to work rather than hand over Edo State treasury to Oshiomhole even when it was clear that his first term was not anywhere near one twentieth of Oshiomhole's first term in terms of performance? Honestly I don't understand Delta State people these days at all.

Unfortunately, once person sabi speak grammar for Nigeria, him don be good candidate so for most people eyes.
Though Obaseki matter na Oshiomhole fault sha....truth be told as it was obvious that Oshiomhole didn't allow the party decide her candidate in 2016. Obaseki was a nobody politically in Edo State before Oshiomhole influenced his emergence as the APC candidate that year. Those who voted for him in 2016 did so because they trusted in Oshiomhole's judgement of choice without knowing that Oshiomhole was in addition to wanting to continue with his projects, also wanted a loyalist which he mistook Obaseki for going by how Obaseki pretended successfully for eight years to be very loyal to him. But on the other hand it exposed Oshiomhole's own naivety which made him mistake yesmanism for loyalty,and that was why he went against Ize Iyamu in preference for Obaseki in 2016 whom he never knew from Adam politically even though Iyamu was the one who started the fight against the Tony Anenih and Igbinedion cabal that led to his emergence as governor in 2007. If you know the complete story of how Ize Iyamu fought and pulled down the Tony Anenih-Gabriel Igbinedion cabal which had held Edo State by the jugular even before 1999, you would know that part of what both Edo State and Oshiomhole are suffering in Obaseki's hands today is a form of karma for voting against Iyamu's governorship bid twice even though every Edo State person easily admits that that Iyamu showcases brilliance, realistic and superior arguement delivered in very simple English during debate and campaign.
