Bros, you're now sounding like a broken record...how dare you compare security in the UK with that of Nigeria? Between January and now how many people have been 'unnecessarily' killed in Nigeria and how many in the UK? No country is completely safe but the security situation is at the lowest ebb.

Have you been on the news channel today?
How many were killed in a house in south London today for sleeping jejely in their own house.?
You don't even have access to Crime statistics of UK,so you can't speak so convincingly.

With all these bills you stated above, a lot of Nigerians are in the UK thriving and doing great things back home.

I know a graduate who worked in Nigeria for 35 years and was able to build just one bungalow and doesn't have a car till today . I also know a non-graduate(Nigerian) who's has lived and worked in the UK for just 8 year and has 10 houses in Nigeria and two in the UK and also changing cars like handkerchief...this is the type of story that drive Nigerians.

Young man be civil with your response, and learn how to pass your message across without insulting anyone.
The best comment you should have made is just to advice people not to have too much expectation, as it's not always greener on the other side, depending on the life you're living here already and not you trying to discourage people.
Stop discouraging people, i came across a thread on Nairaland here in dated far back 2008, a man was telling people not to leave, that the country will get better soon, so you tell me since 2008 as the country progress or retrogress?? If you don't want to leave for reasons best known to you, then don't discourage others and please stop derailing the thread

everybody should leave abeg....
every single person...let bad leaders be governing themselves....

there might be no Nigeria in 20 years time with the selfish leaders we have....plane will be flying from another country and the pilot will just announce that we need to turn the nearest airport....Nigeria is no more....

I'm not being pessimistic..it is possible...

thunder fire anyone saying people should not leave that shit hole

Bittered?
Some of you are so funny, bittered for speaking the truth? bittered for telling them not to hoodwink people with their deceptive reason?
Go back to the first comment i made, may be that will speak a little sense into you head.
No one stopped you from leaving, you can leave for where ever and never come back, how does that affect me?
Those who left for Ukraine said more than this, but they are back to the same "shit hole" now.
I don't write to tantalize your fantasy,i wrote to prepare people's mind,i write to inform them of what a lot of the people won't tell them.
As for security and safety, you could actually be mugged and killed because of your mobile device same way people are being killed here, Robbers do Rob home's,at least those superstars whose home's were burgled in UK and Europe is an attestation.
it rains everywhere,my point

We get your point but everyone ,me in particular want a system that works and Nigeria doesn’t have that. This is 2022 and we still haven’t solved the issue of LIGHT or it the police harassment or kidnapping.

People just want a better life ,nobody said going to the Uk would suddenly make you rich like bill gates or that you won’t struggle.

They just want a better working system and I can’t blame them for that.

There was no where i ever wrote no one shouldn't go,the comment they all jump on an acts like rabid dog was just a caution on a guy that was building Castles in the Air.
Who am I to stop people from achieving their dreams?

I think people just feel your message is to discourage them me I understand your message ,the Uk is not bread and butter the struggle there is real but I think people are okay with the fact that the system is somehow favorable and your replies are kinda rude.

U people who think you can dissuade the average Nigerian from the japa movement by sounding discouraging or like it will be a very difficult, challenging, and impossible experience, u are greatly wasting your time, the more you dissuade the more interested and propelled a Nigerian become, trust me some of us av seen worse. Ask those Nigerians who refused to comeback from a war striking country like Ukraine, some felt it was way better to die their than to come back, imagine that.... Anyway, firstly, their are various categories of people living this country; The rich, who can afford not just to invest in their children but invest for them as well, these ones can come home cos they have it both ways. The second, those who can invest in their children but not for them (mostly the average Nigerian) these ones don't see a country with a vision, they have seen Nigeria rapidly decline to what it is today, from good to bad to worst, and are afraid that the future holds no favorable plans or outcome for their offsprings so they invest in them, in countries with a vision that is favorable base on their subjective idea of what they deem a favorable future for their children looks like. Lastly the have not, they mostly have to borrow to invest in their children's future, they suffered from the deteriorating educational, financial, political and all round system of Nigeria, so they av a very traumatic nd negatively impacted idea of Nigeria as a result of being at the bottom, and are therefore willing to do whatever it takes to make sure their offsprings don't experience the same hardships as they did. Whichever category you find yourself will influence your idea/perception of the Japa movement. No perception is similar, but please no one should negate or sound reductive about other peoples reasons to want to japa, it all comes from somewhere. All we should do as a community that strives to be better than the ones before us is to help each other make the best decisions for the japa movement not to sound discouraging or reductive, but support with information or tangibles to help each other get the best from this japa movement. If you see someone doing it the wrong way try to support not just scold and talk from a place of privilege but from understanding, all fingers no dey equal, yet, na only together dey fit carry something. Success to all our japa movement plans....
God bless you.

Like I said, “Average IT support” who is working normal 37.5haaaaaarrrssss per week. If he run night & weekend shift, he’s surely making more than that. Na you wey know wetin carry you go Uk go know how to double your hustle to pay bills till you stand on your feet gallantly.

One with multiple streams of income won’t even feel it. I have an acquaintance in Manchester charging £1k daily as a business analyst.

All these you wrote won’t matter if you strategize well before leaving naija.

Before embarking on this japa process, I had enquire about cost of living and job opportunities, these pays a high role in considering planning of expenses, before choosing schools in these regions, it not just all about applying to any school, but being strategic about it.

Bottom line is, IF you are an IT professional, that’s serious with his career and has a goal, you will never suffer or regret your movement to UK.

The problem with most of them is that any variables to their stand means you are against them, they will come at you as if we dey drag inheritance.
Some people had reached me privately to have some for of advice and they are thankful when feeding me back, these people told me the way and manner they attack on this space is what kept them away.
