Since Nigeria is your home country, I think it is better for you to contact the US embassy in Nigeria via email to enable them fix an emergency appointment for you here in Nigeria.

I don't think Nigeria is a choice right now. Firstly, I actually do not have any emergency reason tenable to expedite the interview. Secondly, I heard that regular interview dates aren't available until 2024!!!! imagine that!

My advice to you is to send an email to the US embassy in Nigeria explaining your plight and wait for their response. I am telling you this because a friend of mine last year had an important event to attend in the USA he submitted his visa application online but couldn't get an interview date before the said event , so he chose the closest date he could find which was 4 months past the event date. After choosing that date he sent an email explaining his plight and pleaded for an emergency appointment, luckily for him he was contacted by the embassy about 1week to the event and told to show up at the embassy with a printed copy of the email . He was allowed in , did the interview and was given 1year b1/b2 visa . Please note this was his first time applying for an American visa.
So my best advice to you, is to try to link up with the embassy at your current location.
Good luck

Please how did you go about booking for the emergency appointment and how long did it take for the embassy to response and schedule an appointment?

chizzybabe26:
My mum was invited for medical attention in the US because we did a scan and discovered she has a brain mass. She was booked for interview on 19th April to be accompanied by my brother who is single but doing a good job. We had all medical papers from a US neurologist and our Nigeria sealed medical letter and all her lab examinations including MRI. Unfortunately she was denied Visa and we are still shocked to what could be the problem. We want to book for another emergency interview date but please we want to get it right this time. My brother said the lady that interviewed them said the US Doctor should state the cost of the treatment. Should we go with statement of account as my sister over there promise to take charge of the treatment and she put it in her invitation letter sent but still they denied us visa.

What else should we do or provide and do you think the denial was because of my brother who is single and have not travelled before.

Good morning, Please when and where did you submit your application and documents?
Obamagbagbeeni:
Update:

I got my passport back and I’ve been asked to come in on any Thursday with my Int’l passport and make sure my bio data is correct.

I pray all goes well… I’ll update the house when I go.

Thank you all for your responses

Honestly, it all depends on the VO. The lady was nice, my uncle was too casual with his response, how can you tell her you can stay as long as you like, though all his children are citizens. I was bothered but the confidence was too much. Like you said God did it.

Congratulations guy, ur part of the 1% of the 1%

Some people have hinted that the VOs are fairer in Abuja than in Lagos.

There is no feeling as good as this. This is God.

The answers were funny and hilarious. Down right truthful.

Ur story is the camel that passed thru the eye of the needle.

Am speechless.

Congratulations once again

A journey that began on 23rd March, has finally ended.
I was refused and asked to come in on any Thursday for a follow up interview
I got there and was told to submit fingerprints.
Which I did and application changed to issued.
I picked up passport on 28th April in Abuja.
Same day I got a pick up mail from DHL.

Thanks everyone for sharing your experiences, it helped me mentally.
Cos this people are totally unpredictable.

I was able to fly out sane 28th.

Hello Everyone,
I want to inquire about some information. If a couple wants to give birth in the united state but already has a Uk visa that would expire in six months time, considering the fact that the woman is pregnant and not its not showing yet. what is the possibility of getting a USA visa in uk or other places they intend to tour during their visit( Turkey, Mexico and London) to be able to get to come to the USA to give birth.

Dear Vigorousguy,

U have said it all.

Ur uncle and aunt were good to go (since all their kids are US citizens). Their 'I don't care attitude' was epic.

The VO wanted to qualify u with the question with about how long u have stayed with them also along with ur work profile and candid answers.

Ur blessed.

Congrats

Dear Beelkiz,

Let me extricate the facts here

1. Ur pregnant at the moment and u want to give birth in the USA

2. U currently possess a 6 months UK visa or rather a UK visa that will expire in 6 months time

3. U intend to tour the UK, Mexico and Turkey along with ur pregnancy during this time

4. U want to know if u can get a US visa from any of the countries ur visiting.

Now there are two things. Ur a Nigerian national (citizen) I presume and ur going on visits to these countries. I doubt if u can apply from those countries as a visitor except ur there on another visa class that permits u to stay longer. For example, I know u can apply for US visa as a student or on work visa from the UK. I very much doubt that u can as a visitor. This also applies to the other countries mentioned. U can apply but u will be instructed to go and reapply from your country of residence/nationality.

Am guessing ur thinking of doing this because of time constraint (lack of appointment dates) to apply from here. I think the time constraint and backlog also exists in other countries as well. Ur best bet is to apply for B2 visa from here and try to get an appointment date before ur due for delivery (within the next 7 months since ur not showing yet)

Goodluck

I’m certain you can apply from any US Embassy anywhere so long you legally entered the country even if that means as a visitor. You can apply in UK for example.

Hope this helps. Good luck.
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 4 by DrStrangelove: 12:30am On May 01, 2022
Dear Beelkiz,

Let me rephrase my earlier post.

U can always apply at any US outpost in any country u find urself as long u can get an early appointment for the purpose u need the visa. Applying isn't the issue.

Given ur peculiar situation, I was more interested in the outcome (which is the Koko) than the actual application itself.

The VO will take many things into account, which one part is :- why didn't u apply from ur home country while the other is what is status in or what are u doing in the UK at the moment. Remember ur pregnant and want to give birth in the US.

U will aslo be asked, if the VO is interested, ur circumstances in ur home country, what u do as work and whether u have made preparations such as contacting the hospital and making a budget for the bills and other essentials.

If u can answer the above questions to the VO's satisfaction, u should be home and dry

Pls when u do, let's us know thru ur feedback.

Goodluck

Hello please I need advise on this.
I was admitted to study for summer this year. I
got a date based on emergency but couldn't go because I misinterpreted the area of proof of sponsorship and I couldn't change it due to the "72hr rule" which means I only found out less than 72 hrs. I applied for another visa appointment and tried the emergency appointment but got no feedback on time. I then differed my admission to Spring next year only to get a mail that the second emergency appointment which I had given up on has been approved.
Please what can I do? It's written on my Visa appointment "Emergency" even though I Know now that one only has one emergency appointment.

God bless you @Shawlar you have just pointed out a very key point! I didn't even think of that... the passport is expiring Feb 2023 that's less that a year validity while the visa is 2 years! shocked

I guess that's the issue. Would get her a new passport right away.

Thanks everyone, will surely revert here with the good news of successfully obtaining the visa by God's special grace!

shawlar:

Like some peeps here have said already, its most likely due to the baby she had last time but I dont think they have ever made this statement "Come with your international passport. Ensure accurate bio-data and validity" in any of such cases that have come up here in the past couple of months. So asides from prepping for the questions on childbirth, also check the validity of her passport to ensure its still within the required number of months. If its a recently renewed passport, check and make sure there is no discrepancy btw its bio data & the previous one or btw it and the info on her ds160. Just to make sure you have covered all bases..

Good day to the gurus to the house
I applied for a b1 visa and scheduled an appointment (2024 is the available date). I later requested for an emergency appointment which was denied without any reason whatsoever. I did a research online that I should try Abuja thereby prompting me to pay another visa fee all in the name of rescheduling to get another chance at expediting an appointment at Abuja. However, I realized it was the old receipt fee no that kept popping out with my new appointment (December is the available date for Abuja) because the expedited appointment didn’t reflect on my dashboard anymore. Later did research and found that you can only request for one expedited application . My question now to the house bothers on if there is any solution or idea or step one could take to get a date for Interview through the expedited appointment . I appreciate anyone with any knowledge or idea. God bless

Hello everyone. Is there a better chance in applying to abuja rather than lagos for interview? I want to apply for B2 visa to attend my cousin's wedding. I was initially refused visa recently because i said i wanted to visit my fiance. The VO said he should file for me instead. He has filed now,but i need to attend my cousin's wedding in a few months. Should i choose lagos or Abuja?

Well him filing for you means you have immigrant interest and that violates visitors visa rule .I doubt you ll ever get it.you may have to wait until your filing becomes current. THEY don't normally give people like that. You ll still get the same answer. They ll ask you to wait

The probability of anothet refusal is very high since you have a pending migrant application in process.
And you most likely won't get dates since it's in a few months.
I think you may need to consider sitting it out for the wedding.
