Sometimes, I see domains that do not meet these criteria but I just have to follow my instinct. This category mostly fall under Madeup brandable domains. Sometimes, I fall in love with the way they sound and not because they have any use case (Madeup names).
Also, I visit the new listings on SH and BB frequently to see new trends and what people are listing

A good domain names that sell for high price must possess 2 to 3 of these attributes:

1. It must have strong business idea behind it. I can't emphasize this enough.
2. It must be short. Less than 12 letters in the domain is better but less than 10 is the best.
3. It must be brandable and catchy.
4. It must have a maximum of two (2) English words and it must follow the rule of concord in English.
5. Acronym related to a commercial or viable business idea is awesome too.

ExpiredDomains.net, auctions, backorder services, etc are good sources to get these names. Even if you can only get 1 or 2 domain names in a month to increase your portfolio, you'll still be fine instead of going to domain registration spree and looking for who to liquidate it when renewal jingles start ringing.

For example, if you only have 30 domain names that are good to premium and you renew them for 3 years, that will cost you an average of $900 (i.e. about $300 per year), right.
