Oggg:
it is your bank charging you… wetin consign UK embassy? wetin qualify them as nonsensical now?
Moreso they not begging us to apply for visa.
It concern them because if they don't charge for other embassies that confirm statement of account why must it be only one embassy . Anyway I have not heard any other person with evidence of this kind of charge from embassy properly yours could be percular case. Find out what they confirm exactly if they printed your statement and cost of printing from the bank.

Oga forget all this stories, This lockdown you're talking about ended on February 2021 beause i went to UK twice within February to March here is a picture of the trips i went on February 06,2021 to February 20,2021 AND on March 28,2021 to April 8,2021 as proof because i know there are lots of doubting thomas here....You need to write a cover Letter to explain why you stayed for 5 month from December to May.
I go to UK every other months or so because my son is in Chelsea Foundation Academy U9.

Hello everyone its been a while here....pls gurus in the house...I was in the UK December 2020 and I left the UK may 2021 which is after 5 months...today makes it a year that I left the UK I want to go again in December....I think I have respected them by not over staying so I should have a big chance of getting the visa again right? My other question is should I apply for six months again or 2 yrs...your response will be appreciated pls...I want to start the process soon....

Please house, i have a number of concerns about my standard visitor visa application:

1. I used 2 bank account statements. Each 4 months duration(2 Jan to 28th April). The first one is my salary account. It was duly signed and has transaction narratives, though it didnt reflect the April salary in the closing balance (cos i printed it same day the salary came in) but it did reflect it in the stated usable balance. The second account statement had no transaction narrative and was not signed. In fact, the banks contact details were not included but mine were. In the cover letter, i explained that the source of the fund in this second account is from the 1st account and I also explained every significant transaction in it but i didnt put any document to show when the money was transferred from the 1st account to the 2nd.

2. The amount in each individual account is less than the amount i stated as savings in the visa appl form, but when put together, the sum of the amount in both accounts is more that what i stated in the visa application. In the cover letter, i presented the 2nd account as one i use for saving, so I explained that the money in the 2nd account is less than what i stated in the visa appl form because i had withdrawn money for visa payment, bookings, etc after i submitted the visa appl online but before submitting documents on tlscontact site. I added the second account becos of the amount i stated in the visa appl form - i felt they were asking me to declare any other savings i have apart from my income(salary) and also becos i feared the amount in the 1st account would not be enough (not upto 3x the budgeted expenses for the trip - the rumored 3x rule)

2. I made some mistakes in my cover letter. I stated 1st June 2020 as the date i started work instead 1st July 2020, though i stated the correct date in some other places in the cover letter and visa appl form. My employment letter, payment slips and letter of intro also carry the correct date. Another mistake is that i wrote 8th june 2022 instead of 18th june 2022 as departure date from uk but i stated the correct date (18th june 2022) in other places in the cover letter and the visa appl form. My bookings reflect the correct dates as well. Lastly i supplied 3 months payslip (Jan to March 2022) but mistakenly stated Jan to May 2022 in the cover letter though somewhere in the cover letter i had explained that April salary was paid the day i submitted my documents and so the payslip was not yet available.

All these mistakes make me worried about the visa appl.

Pls house, are my worries valid? Is there anything else i can do but to pray, watch and hope for the best?

Your Uncle can book a ticket for you. If travelling by BA or Virgin let him ensure that he books as a 3rd party unless you might not be able to fly as you will be asked to show the card used for the booking (this procedure is in place as at the last time I used the above mentioned airlines, it could have changed)

P.S. I assume you are flying from Nigeria.

It doesn’t matter if you or uncle gets the ticket. You don’t need an agent before you can buy a travel ticket. You can buy it on the airlines website or through Wakanow, Priceline.

As for me, I like to buy tickets in Nigeria with nairas or naira bank card because of the exchange rate. You will be charged official rate not black market rate.

Hello good people. Anyone who just got a dependent visa, what's the validity (i.e. how many months are they giving for it to be used? )

For those who did biometrics on 28th March, how far any news?

I sent paid email on Monday, they replied yesterday that a decision has been made further asking me to wait for 10 working days to get collection mail from VAC.

This morning, I tracked my application and it has moved from DMC to Transfer to VAC.

I did not get any refusal email (I'll never get that IJN ). Can I start dancing yet?

I have been a silent reader here.
My mum just collected her visa.
Submitted just few documents and left the rest in God’s hands.
Her cousin in Canada was her sponsor
My husband and I wrote invitation letter
She just retired from Luth and I was very worried she might not get it cuz the only tie she had back home was my dad back home.
I am her only child so no siblings back home to use as tie.
After submission I realised we didn’t even submit all documents requested e.g proof of address and biometrics.
The only proof of relationship with sponsor was their childhood pictures as he has been in Canada for years.
How God did it I can’t explain but he did it, that was why I started my post with “his got times and seasons in his hands”

Thank you everyone and may God grant everyone their visas as well

Definitely hope he checks the timeline and do a cover letter. I just think it would be wise to have a back up just to ease any doubt with the ECO. Because am looking at the timeline now from the 19th of December 2020 up until March 2021 with some level of restrictions but not one where someone cannot travel out of the UK.

Don’t get frustrated because your application is still within the processing time frame. The current processing time is 6 weeks (30 working days). You need to consider the public holidays too.

You should only be worried if you don’t get collection notice after May 24th because your application must have been 30 working days old then.

Two of my junior ones submitted around that period (April 4 and April 6) too. They are still waiting for collection notices
