Lagos is better, you will have the sphere to explore a wide range of core possible carrier path in future. Anything u want to do don't think backwards of the outcome. Most importantly if u have an accommodation in close proximity to your work go for Vi job. Good luck.

No one's Destiny is tied to a particular place, one can make it any where only by God's willing, Ibadan isn't bad,but consider business policies, VI is a place of opportunities only if you offer first class services to clients, once you earn trust,it will be all said and done....You will get more ideas from the comments here...Any way Na way...only you can decide what suits you best.

You don't know Lagos and where this VI is. He can't even get a decent apartment with 3 months of the salary (600k), maybe one room in the island for 700k that's turns to swimming pool during the raining season or he goes to the mainland and rent for at least 300-400k. Transmuting 3rd mainland bridge with terrible traffic everyday, wakeup 4am and get back home 10pm only to repeat the same thing the next day. Not to talk of food, he dare not buy food in VI, one plate may go for 2-5k. How much remain for the salary? When he could just have peace of mind in Ibadan, 1 month salary is enough for a decent accomodation with less cost of living.

Thank you for this. Took it out of my mind

Lagos life is so stressful especially the traffic aspect. Things are very expensive but if you can endure all these, you are good to go.

if you have a place to stay without renting it yourself in VI or at worst distance Iyan-oworo oshodi side, take Lagos because that Lagos job will give you better future jobs but if you are to rent house yourself in anywhere close to VI just pick ibadan jeje

baba, I left lagos for my mental health, there's nothing to build in Lagos apart from stress and constant brokenness. If he stays in Lagos with 200k, he'll spend half of his life on the road. For example, 200k can't get him an apartment in VI, so he'll choose somewhere cheaper, iyanoba or Barracks, or iyana ipaja. In other to get to work on time, he has to leave house by 5:00am, and eventually he'll get home by 9:00pm. How much time does he have to rest. He cannot cook, so he'll choose to eat outside, minimum of 500 Naira on the mainland, 1000 upwards on the island. Calculate 1500 daily for 30days. Then calculate his transport fare to and fro for 22 days, while some would go for 26 days.

In my own view, for future opportunities Lagos is the best deal. You don't always get it on a platter of Gold. You cost and spend according to your mindset.

Once you don't cross your line and you're good enough with VI, it's not a most you gt fancy house at first that will come later when you're stable.

Eating according to your future matters, the same VI if you're not forming Omo-Baba Olowo you get 600 plate but if you wanna BamBam-Bizze-Bizze you have to rethink.

Lwt for me 200k VI, we have many working in VI staying on Mainland and getting less as 90k 100k 120k so the ball is in your court.

Best wishes

I like your point but will be retrogressive for someone with hungry career path. I started with meagre 5 digit salary monthly some years ago in VI but here I am heading to 7 digits salary monthly basis. Ibadan is a good place but not a challenging environment for a promising person.
I still have plans to leave but maybe i will stay a bit longer. Do you have an opportunity for entry level at your current firm. I am great at Excel with experience in Data entry and HR. Opened to any career path.

No. You are wrong, cost of food are the same except the transport and say maybe accommodation. 200k in VI is better with more exposure and better opportunities.100k is a wide margin.

That is true! But if you make it on a transfer from Lagos to other states, no way you wont feel that sanity. I am from Lagos too, so I know what I am talking about. If you have stayed long in Lagos and happen to just go resume work in a place like Bayelsa, Delta, Ondo and those likes, you will know Lagos is a land of the mad people.

Another useless black person that believes everything is by "prayer".
You think prayer doesn’t work? Don’t portray yourself in bad light by using this kind of demeaning word. It points to bad upbringing.

I am not a religious person but I know for a fact that there is Grace of God. How do you explain people who are striving but have not been lucky enough to attain their desired heights. *If God doesn’t build the city, the workers laboureth in vain*.

You are right. My response was based on portrayal of Lagos in the previous messages. I acknowledge that there is Grace of God everywhere. Maybe I am also of the opinion that there are much more opportunities in Lagos than in anywhere else in Nigeria.

grin grin grin I upgraded bro. You see it's not about the location, it's the experience. A job might decide to pay you 200k in Lagos, somewhere in Kaduna they'll choose to pay 500k. What will you do, stay in Lagos or go to Kaduna? It not only in Lagos that people live the good life, there are other states that pay well, with less mental stress.

The stress part can not be over emphasized. From Osborne to Yaba plus the daily traffic was no joke.

Now, I don’t leave my bed until 8:15am. Drive out at 8.30 and get to Ikoyi 9-9:15am. No longer as stressful as it used to be.

Go and take a job there and see naa.

I said a solid "NO!!" to a job offer when they said I would be working in their office in VI.

To commute there from mainland and take lunch at break time, ₦90k is gone in a month (₦3000/day, and that is a very optimistic estimate).

Then calculate rent on the mainland, before you remember that you will eat when you get home and in weekends. That's just basic food and shelter o..

VI job is no joke.
Sighs... indeed, what makes us think the grass is greener on the other side is the fact that we're not on the other side

What is the job?

Is it possible to continue and grow in Ibadan?

On purely economic terms, Ibadan by far for these two options.

100k job in ibadan or 200k job in lagos VI
Re: N100k Job In Ibadan Or N200k Job In VI Lagos by Realguyman1(m): 4:57pm On May 16, 2022
Viruses:
Take the one in VI because of prospects. Within a few years you can get another one of 3, 4 or even 500k; not sure if that would be the case in Ibadan. But if the one in Ibadan is a structured company like bank where career growth is certain, so need to come face the lagos stress, just take that.

Note: you don't have to stay in VI, you can stay in another locality where accommodation is quite affordable like Ikorodu or Ajah axis.
Stay in Ikorodu and be waking up 3am dey go work everyday and then, come back house by 9 or 10 pm, abi.

you have a great point but they are still relative. First we don't know where Op stays yet, secondly, traffic on 3rd bridge in the morning are using moving not standstill else it's during rainy season. I'll advice op to not stay on the island, he should stay on the mainland and go to work from there.

Also ibadan now is gradually becoming like Lagos o. No go think say na Ibadan of before o lol
