I normally get paid from those firms through crypto just to avoid withdrawal fees, then I will sell it on Bianace, last year December I sold $12k to someone on Bianace who is on EFCC wanted list for kidnapping and money laundering, barely did I Know I was dealing with a devil.

Early this year , I wanted to use my debit to pay for utility bill but It wasn't connecting, tried to withdraw through ATM same wahala. Called my bank to know "wassap" the response I got was to visit them for clarification. I informed my pastor who directed me to get a lawyer and I got one..
When I got to the useless bank and logged my complaints the manager got an urgent call from the above that I should be arrested, i was dentained for 3days at station with no reasons.the 4th day they came with with some papers that I collaborated with kidnappers for fraud. What actually saved me was my LTC transactions that I screenshot and the company that I'm working for. What I have received from them and what I had disbursed.
Got sorted ,and I was discharged , after 2weeks the bank called that I should get a dollar account to stop using Crypto and my bvn was free..no be small matter bro.i could have loved to share more but I'm busy now.

Those accounts were restricted using your BVN. That's the handiwork of NFIU. That happens if there were reports of suspicious transactions. I was going to say the restriction may include arrest-at-sight flag (since your account officer is evasive) but since you're confident you have not done anything illegit. Go ahead and visit the branch to learn more on what could have gone wrong.

Bro go to the bank. No big deal.
But is you are scared which is understandable, go with a lawyer or commission a lawyer to write a letter demanding to know why you cannot acess your account.
Writing a letter should not cost you more than a couple of thousands.

For all your accounts to be frozen not just one bank then you are in big trouble
EFCC is after you , is either you have given someone account to move illegal money and collect your share out of it or as you are doing online business that involve illegal transactions.
This happened to someone I know and he suffered in the hands of EFCC.
Let you lawyer write to the bank first before reporting yourself

I'm 99% sure is fraud related. He must have gotten himself in fraudulent activities before his bvn was flagged not all these crypto nonsense. They will only come here to tell cock and bull stories of how innocent they are. I can bet it he won't come back here. Too many youth are into scamming, frauds and calling it smartness

I thought it was network or app issues.

He was just evasive but hinted that restrictions were placed by law enforcement agency. No agency specifically was mentioned.

I tried UBA and Zenith too, similar restrictions yet no reason.

I use the accounts for legit businesses online and have had them since over 14 years, so can't say with certainty what the issue is.

How do I handle this now as going to the banking hall might lead to arrests etc, so I need to be prepared.

I need suggestions please.

First you need to know which of your bank that has generated this restriction because the others where affected due to linked BVN. If its GTB for sure they will arrest you with their own security police before calling EFCC to come pick you up. If it's zenith they will explain to you the problem and advise you to wait for 90days for the investigation to be carried out by the EFCC. During which EFCC will contact you so then you you will need a lawyer. Don't be scared if you didn't do anything, scammers are the ones using people's details to carry out fraudulent transactions. I have had such issues and it was resolved ones investigation was completed and letters sent to all the banks to reactivate the accounts. Only thing is that no apology tendered for all the period of waiting without having access to your money.

My account has been frozen since September last year for almost this same issue. To make it worst, by BVN has also been backlisted, am doing barred from USSD transactions. However, I’m still able to open account with apps like Kuda, Carbon, with same BVN.

THE STORY:
Last year September, someone transferred 5.1k to my junior brother through my account (UBA). He withdrew it same day. After 24 hours, my account balanced turned negative. I contacted my bank and I was told the transaction was fraudulent and that I should make a deposit of similar sum accompany with a letter of reverse order. I did and nothing happened after several days.

After some weeks, I received a call from the bank asking if I knew the sender’s location and base. I said no.

To cut the story short... I gave up on following up.

This is where you got it all wrong. It is not oy fraud that would warrant your account getting closed. Even if you owe someone money and probably you didn't deliver the job paid for or maybe you issued a cheque that bounced etc. My own situation happened just 1 month ago.

You should only speak if you have been a victim of the process. It was then I discovered that banks close the account without a court order. Mind you my account was closed for 6 months and there was no court order. Law or not those agencies especially EFCC threaten banks.

Did you use your account to defraud anybody or engage in illegal business ? Check and be prepared for Police arrest plus court case or reach out to the person you scammed his money and find a way to refund the person and settle with the Police division where he petitioned your account from via court order!



Check yourself, there is someone that accused you of defrauding him or her and you refused to settle with the person.

I had an issue like this with the defunct Diamond Bank, it was frozen for almost 2 months. I had to threaten them with court case before they released my account.

Note: I had tried all avenues like copying them on twitter and going to the local branch near me..... But nothing was done until I involved lawyers.

I hope yours wouldn't last as long as mine before they rectify it.

You cant sue if there's a court order to restrict your account. They are duty bound to comply with the order, unless and except you have a counter order.

Don't just give up. BVN is linked to your NIN. NIN is linked to immigration data base, meaning you may even have issue with getting international passport later.
Ask your brother to open up to you. Refund their money and let them clear your BVN.
You don't know how this will affect you in the future.

It is your bvn that has been flagged which affected your account and it will affect every single thing bvn is used for even nin, as it is now you can't even open account with that your bvn etc... You have to sort out the issue very fast before bvn blacklisting is the worse thing that can happen to anybody in Nigeria, Trust me I'm speaking from experience
