Hi

Only your GCMS notes can give details while you were refused cos the contents of a refusal letter are usually generic.

By the way, based on your post, there seem to be two logical reasons why you might have been refused

No. 1
You have a BSC and a Masters and you are going for a Diploma which is a Lower Academic qualification to what you already have. That's a wrong Academic progression . A Visa Officer can easily assume you wanna JAPA with that diploma you applied for (WRONG PURPOSE OF VISIT )

No. 2
The program you applied for might require someone who has work experience in the Health/Medical field which I feel you don't have and this might have paint a red flag to a Visa Officer

Possible solutions

1)
Since you are a Masters degree holder in public administration with work experience in that same field , a PHD in a Public Administration related field would be a good shot for you cos it will show Academic Progression

2)
Based on your Public Administration work experience, you can also opt for a PG.Cert in an Admin. related program at a college e.g HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT, that shows career progression

Good evening family and friends I got a refusal sometime last year. I wanted to reapply again but decided to order my note. I submitted two SOA. The first money appeared at the beginning of the statement I didn't touch the money until the statement was printed. But had inflow and outflow while the major money was untouched. the second account came in as my arrears. But as a lump sum. I show the proof of where the money came in from. Please house what went wrong and what is the next move.

Hello good evening guys. Please I need your counsel on the issue below.
My friend had PhD admission at University of Alberta. He used the services of an agent for the TRV application. Initially, all seemed to be going well because he had medical request and subsequent PPR.
He was looking forward to get his passport when shoot he got a refusal letter from IRCC stating that the bank statement of his sponsor submitted as part of his application was fraudulent. Hence, he has been banned for 5 years. As we speak now, the passport is still with IRCC.
Please what is the best way to address this issue?
And how can this ban be lifted from his application?

I think the decision is based on the lump sum of which explanation did not sound appealing to the VO.

You may want to work more on explaining the lump sum.

If the agent submitted a fraudulent bank statement, then I am sorry there is nothing your friend can do. Secondly I hope and pray the Nigeria police doesn't come for him.

Dear Keren,
From the notes, it seems despite the inflow and outflow, the closing balance was close the the lump sum at the beginning. That could be read to mean, no significant monthly income that is not wiped off by expenses or other reasons.

You only mentioned explaining the other SOA lump, did you explain SOA 1 with documents?

What about the source of income? What documents did you provide?

Your 2 SOAs according to the VO does not show consistency of source funds. The VO also notes previous refusal.. was it also based on finance / assets?

Think of ways to address consistency of source funds and availability of funds.

All the best.

Hi Keren,

The visa officer's thinking is that you borrowed the money for demonstration purposes in your visa application. The transaction date the lump sum amount was credited to your account is most likely almost very close to the date you printed the statement for submission.

You may need to give it some time, like four months apart, minimum from the date you filed your second application and when you intend to file your re-application to IRCC. Within this window period, you can:

• Maintain the consistency of the inflow into your account, and it would give you time to build the account more.

• Try to avoid lump sum deposits. Lumpsum deposits mean amounts that are infrequent and irregular. E.g. If the range of values that goes into your account is between 4,000 naira and 10,000, a sudden 150,000 naira would be considered a lump sum. So try to ensure the inflows are within range.

• I assume the source of funds is from your business. The VO doubts the source of funds, which means you might need to work more on how you present the support document backing up those payments made to you.

• When filing your application again, after clicking yes to the visa being refused before on the IMM form, don't explain in the comment section of the refusal on the form like you did something wrong. Start by explaining the reasons behind the refusal to your understanding and conclude by stating you have attached sufficient documentary evidence to show the legitimacy and legality of the transaction from your business (mention name of company].

• You can liaise with any forum member of your interest to review your letter of explanation for you, especially the finance section, before submitting again.

In the meantime, keep building the accounts and limit withdrawals.

I wish you success in your next attempt,

LANDING GIST

Read about the guy that travelled early here after confirming from CBSA and decided to give it a shot. Got Visa in February, missed January and my MBA didn't have a May start date. The long wait was tiring and I was like I might as well leave. Booked BA for June 1st. Got to the airport by 4am and was greeted with Cancelled Flight. Our info were taken and the normal Nigeria back and forth. BA lodged us at Transcorp Hilton and Sheraton Hotels Abuja. The room was huge and it was breakfast, Lunch and Dinner inclusive; all buffet. Food was good, the varieties was top notch...

4.30am June 2nd, BA bus was ready to take us to the airport, the portals brought our luggages to the bus and by 6am we were at the airport. Probably because of the number of people that came in same time, my luggages weren't checked by immigration. Was asked what was inside and I just said clothes and more clothes.

Bags were checked and everything sorted and my onward journey was booked ahead. Documents requested for by BA in Nigeria were;
-International passport
-ArriveCan and
-Covid Vaccination card...

Immigration cleared me and collected offerings x 2, It didn't matter though but I guess I was just feeling generous cos they weren't forceful, just friendly. Let me add that Abuja airport is clean clean and very organized.

Flight was delayed for 45mins, connecting flight was 3hrs differential. We got to Heathrow on time though despite the delay and I proceeded to the gate for Montreal (I didn't have a transit Visa and I didn't need one). BA breakfast was a mess though....Document asked for in London;
-International passport
-Boarding Pass

Connecting was easy though. So left London and got to Montreal in 6hrs 15mins. The flight was short and meal was better but all on my mind was immigration.

I was directed to Immigration at Montreal after electronically filling the declaration form. I printed my number at immigration and before I could catch a breather, boom my number was called. The officer showed me a list posted on the wall and said to bring those. When I saw School fees payment receipt, I was like Mogbe o lol. I didn't pay school fees before visa cos my school nor too like refunds so school fees wasn't compulsory and no deposit was required. I wanted to pay before leaving Nigeria but them say this year fees will be updated June. So what to do?

The immigration list at Montreal pasted on the wall were;
International passport/visa
Declaration form(U will get it in Canada)
Acceptance letter
School fees payment.

Letter of introduction was not there but I added mine. Since I didn't have school.fees receipts, I added the letter of confirmation from my school stating students are not required to pay school fees and the email that said updated fees for 2022/2023 will be available in June (please, am a high risk taker o, go with tuition or school fees receipt)

He asked how much I had with me; I said 1000USD (I paid for my house already, and didn't want to take much cash for security reasons only), he was like; is that what you plan to pay your school fees with, I was like No o, so I brought my newly printed bank statement. Was at the bank May 30th to get it. So he asked how much is that in CAD, I subconsciously said over $28,000 and he was like go and sit down. I sha went back to my seat o, calculated and saw it was more than $28,000. I was Sha calm and fired prayer small lol. Less than 5mims he called me and was like ;You are good to go. He gave me my passport and documents and I saw the student permit with it. I vanished immediately before I hear excuse me pls smiley Everything took less than 15mins; So fast!

He didn't ask why I came earlier, he didn't talk much. Just the requirement placed on the wall. Everything was super smooth. My last flight took me to my destination with a friend already waiting for me. I rented my place while in Nigeria and we drove straight home.

Note:
Although I didn't pay school.fees cos of my school and personal reasons cos one UK school is still owing me 3000pounds till date but please if u are travelling, even if you got your Visa without school fees, try and pay no matter how small cos I was shocked to see it as a requirement pasted on the wall.

BA was pretty short, 6hrs to London, 6.15hrs to Montreal (different from what was on d booking sheet) Then 3hrs+ between the two trips.

Ehen, I read alot that Tecno phones don't work here but my Tecno battery is like power bank so I couldn't risk leaving it, and it's been working so well with WIFi but sadly not with Canada sim card. As for charging devices, am using a Universal Charger.

The rule of travelling a month before study has changed. One can travel as soon as your visa is ready but I chose 3months cos for UK, it's 3months prior to your study. I wanted to be on the safer side; Calculated risk.

Sadly I don't have access to my nairaland email but will be happy to answer all questions here.

To those waiting for their PPR...Good news is on the way...and for those planning their trips, I wish you safe Journey and smooth sailing.

Canada is presently warm and beautiful and their cooked meals are eatable...Can't wait to have y'all here...Cheers

LONGGGGGG POST ALERT!!!

Guys I really do not know where to start from!
I'm short of words. God's just too good to fail.
I'm still in shock cause I can't really fathom why my application was this quick or why I was just favoured, but I give God all the glory! For he alone is to be praised!

I've been following this thread for about 4yrs now. Just observing with no plans to submit my application. Was just here for the information basically, and to read people's process (which I enjoyed doing) didn't even know I'd eventually apply.

Time came for me to apply, I was scared to the Bone! I was scared to doing it myself! My sponsor (brother) literally begged me to look for an Agent to handle my application, I was skeptical at first, but I succumbed cause I didn't want any issue or stories that touch.

I contacted an agent on this platform, he charged me 150K for admission and 250K for Visa. My sponsor agreed to pay for the first stage (admission). Las las I eventually paid 190K for only admission!!! Only school admission ohhh!!!

Then it was time for Visa Application, and I was told Visa Fee has increased to 300K. And I was like hell No!!! I no go school? Am I daft? No! I can do this shi# myself. 300K no be 300 naira.

That's how it began, took a leap of faith and decided to do and handle my Visa Process myself, and God blessed me with the GOLDEN Mail (PPR)! Guys please do this stuff yourself!
You can do it! Yes YOU! You can!
There's nobody else that cares about your application than you! You don't need any agents NAIRALAND is the real deal! NAIRALAND taught me everything I know and used to get my Approval.

I'm a FIRST TIME APPLICANT, my timeline goes thus, I used the NEW PORTAL,

Upfront Medicals - 22nd November 2021
Application Submitted - 29th November 2021
Biometrics Completed - 3rd December 2021 (updated same day)
Upfront Medicals Updated - 6th December 2021
Then the wait........................^_^
Eligibility Review Started - 25th January 2022
Then a good man, a blessing, friend turned brother, a brother from another mother, Teemenzo (God bless you for me brother, he has always been with me from the beginning of my application) adviced me to send a mail to Abuja which I did, I eventually, reluctantly sent to everybody (London, Nairobi, Lagos, Abuja) yesterday, 26th of January just to disturb then. Lo and behold, today,

It's PPR!!!!!

I can't believe this, I am still in shock, what my God cannot do does not exist.

I began this journey in 2019 through the Express Entry Program then Covid happened in 2020 and everything just pressed stop. I was very frustrated and just gave up on the Canadian journey until last year when my best friend applied and got her Canadian Student Visa, it was just the push I needed to revive my Japa spirit.

November of 2021, I applied to Conestoga college and NBCC, on the 14th of December, Conestoga College gave me admission while NBCC waitlisted me. Immediately I contacted MAKANO to find out what my chances were because I am married and I wanted my uncle to act as my sponsor. He said if I packaged my documents well, I will definitely get an approval, his positivity gave me the courage to go ahead and pay my tuition deposit.

Then , we began the application process, MAKANO was super helpful and patient, always available to answer my sometimes stupid questions, he followed me through the application from the documents needed to my SOP development, final document review and application. I applied on the 7th of February, after which I did an upfront medical on the 1st of March, then the wait began.......

The wait is the worst thing ever, I find myself constantly checking my email and signing into my account, then MAKANO and my best friend advised that I should constantly send emails to IRCC which I did three times daily for over 2 weeks. Last week I sent emails to all the MPs, I didn't get any concrete response from them then my best friend also messaged them last weekend from Canada. I was already getting very frustrated and sad,my husband and friends kept on encouraging me until when I saw the golden mail this afternoon, I just started crying, I cried for over 5 minutes, then I started to call my husband, family and friends.

If your medicals will expire by November 2022, you are good. Just resend the slip you have with explanations of when it will expire. A friend did that recently and it was passed. So do it immediately.
