Not compulsory. Your wedding certificate is sufficient to link you both along with other documents that prove that your marriage is genuine. kunletiwo: |

kunletiwo:Change of name isn’t necessary, marriage certificate and the decree absolute are more important. |

kunletiwo:As said already, decree absolute, marriage certificate, you can add a few of your wedding photos on the application as well. Change of name means nothing to be honest. Just a follow up question, about your wife’s previous marriage (Where did that happen….in Nigeria or UK?) |

Ray7878:Thank you Mr. Ray. Her previous marriage ceremony was in Nigeria, and the decree absolute was also issued in Nigeria. |

vikaosi:Congratulations, amazing news. I think the English requirements is probably for settlement/spouse visas. Yours was probably work/partner dependant. Anyways glad you are sorted. |

coolMeenah:I think the ones that we did is different. Yours is settlement just like our one. Which usually takes longer to sort out. I think their one is a work/partner/dependant visa. Which is less fees, no IHS fee. |

Good afternoon everyone. Thanks for your prompt response to every question asked on this thread. Please, I received a message from TLS concerning my application this afternoon after I raised a concern about my application being stucked on the 'Application transferred to DMC' stage. This was the message "Dear Customer, Thank you for contacting us. Please be advised that your documents are being processed by UK Visas and Immigration. You will be notified separately when the decision is made and your passport will be returned. You can also check the status of your application through your profile on https://www.gov.uk/. Please keep in mind that TLScontact plays no role and has no influence over the outcome of your visa application or the time it takes to process. Applications are processed by UK Visas and Immigration, which is a separate entity to TLScontact." My concern now is, my application hasn't left that stage still. What might be the problem? No mine was spouse visa Under EU settlement scheme family permit and travel permit. And English test was not a requirement. It’s a free Visa you don’t have to pay any fee As far as your spouse is a citizen under Eu and ur applying for this type of visa it’s free |

JoyfulA:Really? So, those it mean that the mail I receive was a non straightforward mail? And did your application progress take long time to move from the second stage to the third stage? |

It took 3 whole months for my application to be transfer to vac.. Besides my first application was refused due to fake bank statement that one evil agent used instead of asking us for a bank statement He forge a bank statement And the bank statement was just to proof if my husband has been sending money but he didn't ask I was so lucky not to have a ban If it was student visa or visiting visa I could have had a 10yr ban But the lawyer that put in the new application said they don't give ban for family or spouse visa I got lucky with that one I am glad it turns out well |

Thanks for the detailed info. Do you know if she’d need to re-do the TB test since it was done more than six months ago? Ray7878: |
| Re: UK Spouse Visa/Appeal Process-part2 by Ray7878: 3:59pm On Jun 05, 2022 |
Oloshi83:Nope she didn’t need to, once you have put it in and it was valid at the time then you are safe. Ours expired on the 22nd of April. The same question that you ask was how I found this forum. |

Biometrics missed because we didn’t have the certificate. TLS refused to complete this without the actual certificate, DLH left her certificate on their desk in Abeokuta from the 17th of December until she made a complaint in Lagos when she went there on the day that TLS refused the biometrics.
