You can if you are being sponsored by the UK government or an overseas government

If you are self funded, you can't.

Honestly, It's getting upsetting as i did my biometrics since May 5th. What exactly are they reviewing that cannot be concluded in 6 weeks. The ukraine palava just gave them a perfect excuse to delay applicants further.

They should also consider that people have other commitments tied to their travel documents and should at least process applications within the defined timeline. I have an IELTS exam to write next weekend and if they don't respond in time, i have to re-schedule for the 2nd time and pay another 22k.

Good morning house.

Please I have a question to ask and I don't exactly know how to structure it for the search algorithm to identify my answers.

Here it goes.

I recently secured admission for Sept. 2022 and have paid the tuition deposit. At this time, i'm waiting for my TB test date in the first week of July and would proceed to start visa application. While waiting, I have locked in my POF for 30 days and it would mature by this month end. I hope to add the bank statement and other accompanying documents to start the visa processing.

Also, I joined the school's whatsapp group of Nigerian students who are been managed by the school's recognized agent in Nigeria. Sometime this week, one of the agents advised those of us with locked POF that plan to withdraw after maturity to desist from doing so. He rather said we should leave the money in the account till visa is confirmed. In his statement, he said that there's been a spike in requests from UKVI requesting for another account statements during the visa application stage. So if one has withdrawn, obviously it would reflect and lead to automatic dismissal.

My concern is how true is this or is there a particular reason that leads to this reaction by UKVI as I would most likely be spending more than a million naira just for account statement if I'm to keep the money in my account looking at how much visa application is been delayed this days.

Please, I'd need your opinions on this

Thanks in advance

My brother application was refused. Biometrics was May 5th @ Ikeja TLC.

Attached is the refusal letter. Please kindly let me know what the first bullet point means. He was refused twice like 10 years ago, I think he was banned too then.

He used same documents to apply for Canada, any chances for Canada? Note that everything he submitted was genuine and real. His work and real estate business are genuine.

Quite straightforward. Refusal letter explanatory enough.
I feel the bullet point refers to his immigration history with them. They have also mentioned at the top of the refusal they have taken into account his immigration history… refusals + 10 years ban. You know he was banned earlier so pls saying I think when asking for help can be confusing.

already bad immigration history with them — 2 refusals and 10 year ban.. it never goes away, with this you/he ought to have put more effort in making a water tight app.

Sad reality about bans- Obviously nobody knows what the ECO will think, but he is applying for the exact same visa again as he did with false documents 10 years ago.
Having said that, if you can convince them that everything is genuine after serving the 10 years, you might be successful. Secondly, although the ban has expired, they are likely to still question your true intentions given your past attempt to use deception.

1. money lodgment.
How can account balance be 400k and 27 days later become 10million naira. And then shortly after he went to submit an application.
They also mention that in the bank statements he submitted this sudden rise/deposit style was not seen in all so where suddenly did this money come from? If you were the ECO how would you look at this application pls?
2. Next up, 8 day holiday and projecting a spend of 2 million naira in contrast to his acclaimed disposable income.. also remember he just mysteriously had a sudden rise to his account to the tune of 10 million. No visa officer can close their eye to this blunder..
I am afraid the Canadian one will take a huge miracle if documents and bank statement is same as this.

Thanks for your input and if I said I think he was ban then you should realize this is what he told me and I can’t categorically come to a conclusion of what I have no knowledge about. All the same thank you!

Hello everyone, please I have few questions I need clarification.

My brother was banned from the UK for submitting fake documents in February 2012.

Apparently an agent he contracted messed him up and that resulted in the ban.

February 2022 made it 10 years he was ban and he is trying to apply again by himself. Now this is my questions?
1. Will he disclose the ban? Since it is 10 years already.
2. Will he need an health insurance for the duration of stay?
3. Is hotel booking sufficient for proof of where he will stay in the UK?
sorry was not trying to project. I remembered your case because earlier when you mentioned you were going to put in an an application for him… you said then it was a ban.
I also replied then that if you were still asking if you should disclose the ban on the visa form then lessons might have not been learnt. my apologies for answering.

I appreciate your feedback and that is why I am on this platform to learn about how I could help him as he is not this social media guy. I live in Canada and I will be visiting the UK in August and I felt like we could meet hence the reason I try to get few information here to help with his visa processing. My previous ask about the ban was exactly what he told me that he think he was ban since using a fake document with UK attract 10 years ban because the ban was not categorically stated in his previous refusal. I apologies if you feel I responded in such manner that you didn’t like. All the best!

at the second to the last paragraph.. where the 320(7A) comes up… it’s a ban
If you read onto the next page which is not posted here, it will state 10 years and any application within this time may be refused. But in actual sense may= must

Oh Okay! Thank you for pointing it out. I am really not use to those codes as I have never even gotten a refusal before myself but one way or the other he knew he might be a ban. I really appreciate your time and feedbacks. God bless!

Applied for my aunty to come visit me;

Date of biometrics; 25th May tls ikeja
Visa gotten: 17th June

(She recently renewed her US visa before applying)

I applied for my gf with virgin passport.

Date of biometrics: 6th of June Abuja

Still waiting...

I think good travel history and having active valid visa from another country gives you an edge.

All of you falsifying documents deserve every ban you get...

Attached is the screenshot of the refusal letter.
The decision

I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of Paragraphs V 4.2 – V 4.6 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules for visitors because:

You state that you intend to travel to the UK for 21 days to visit your son and daughter-in-law. I understand and accept that family visits are important. I note that your sponsors in the UK will part fund your costs and look after your needs, however in order to assess your application it is also important to take into consideration your overall personal and economic circumstances in Nigeria. Consequently, I must assess the information you have provided about yourself separately from your sponsor’s part of your application.

You state that you are employed Teaching service commission since November 1988, you earn 131000.00 NGN (£251.52 on Oanda.com current exchange rates) per month, you receive additional annual income of 1000000.00 NGN (£1,920) from other sources. You have monthly living costs of 40000.00 NGN (£76.80) leaving you with disposable income of 91,000 NGN (£174.72). You have 400000.00 NGN (£768) as your share of the cost and you will be provided with £1500 from your sponsor for this visit.

You have provided information regarding your employment and your financial circumstances with a personal bank account information. Your bank statement does not show any regular deposits that match your salary or can be confirmed as originating from this source. I also note there are several large unexplained bank transfer deposit made in your account which is more than your stated income. Whilst I note you have stated an additional income, you have not provided any details or explanations as to the source of these funds. Their origin and how these have been accrued on your behalf are unclear. Consequently, I am not satisfied that these funds will remain genuinely available to you upon arrival into the UK or regarding your overall account of your personal and financial circumstances presented in support of this application.

You state you are visiting your son. I note you have provided supporting evidence with your application and whilst I have considered the information provided, it does not demonstrate the relationship with your sponsors or, other than the letter of invitation, there is any connection, contact or communication. I am not satisfied that you and your sponsor have a genuine professional or personal relationship. Therefore your application is refused under paragraph V4.3 (a) of Appendix V.

From the information on your application form and the documents you have submitted, I am not satisfied that you intend to leave the United Kingdom or that you are genuinely seeking

entry as a visitor. Your application is therefore refused under paragraphs 4.2 (a) and (c) of Appendix V of Immigration Rules for Visitors
