No need to educate you folks. Some of you have never been to a real court.
The government lawyer(the prosecutor) will twist the stories to fit his or her narratives. It is up to the Defense attorney to poke holes in the prosecutor's charges. It is a battle. The prosecutor's job is to ensure that they are convicted. The Defense attorney's job is to counter him/her, provide legal counsel to Ekweremadu and arrange a plea deal for them if necessary. Some prosecutors can be very aggressive.

Either way, I wish them luck. Pray never to be used in the Chess play in a legal system. Do I feel sorry for the Ekweremadus? No! The level of impunity in Nigeria is outrageous.

/

People wont understand this. I was on trial in the crown court last summer and whilst I was on the stand, it got so comical that at some point I started laughing at the story the well spoken prosecutor was narrating even though I was facing 6 charges and prison time if convicted.

The prosecutor look at the facts of the case and come up with as plausible a story as possible. In court, lawyers dont say maybe, they say things ike they were there and saw it happen.

Nothing is contradictory. People simply heard that Ekwerenmadu attempted to harvest someone’s organ and they all crucified him instantly. Killing for ritual purposes is rampant in our society, so many then drew the conclusion that Ekwerenmadu was a ritualist. The press went straight to business. His political enemies went straight for his neck.

Now we have heard the story on the other side. The boy himself has told us his own side. Ekwerenmadu has filed a suit before Justice Ekwo asking for the release of vital information that would show the world that he was transparent at all times.

The boy’s neighbors have commented. The boy apparently changed his mind, having japa(d) from Nigeria and was requested to return home, as his kidney did not match. The UK police would try to protect the young man, at least for now. If he loses that case, na handcuff e go carry return to Nigeria.

The boy will lose case? Hahaha very funny... First of all the Ekwerenmadu are healthy donors, their children are healthy donors, but u choose to bring someone from a third world country to donate ... If you think his kidney was no match and they just found that out there in the UK after going through all the stress to get him there, common, there are hospitas in Abuja to test for that, in fact,do you know kidney transplant s are done in Abuja and even Lagos?

To further enlighten you because you do not actually know what the crime is here, it's against their law to buy a kidney, You cannot buy in cash or in kind or in anyways transactionally obtain a kidney from a living donor in the USA and UK. the ekwerenmadu are doing time... take it or leave it.

The consultant called the police when he enquired from the "boy," if he knew he was going to donate his kidney.

The reports are incoherent. The initial event happened around Jan/feb. The boy refused to return and instead seeked for asylum.
Ike went back to UK enroute to turkey with ‘another donor’ but he was arrested based on previous report which he never knew the asylum seeker leveled against him.
If you understand the system in seeking for asylum then you understand that first the boy have to throw away his passport, and then ‘lie’ that he was trafficked. This move guarantees automatic stamp on your papers. Nobody seeking asylum ever says the truth.

Stop displaying this ignorance. A young man of 21 as a first time traveler, with a fresh passport, cannot pass the Nigerian immigration at the airport. If he is unfortunate to get stopped by NDLEA too, he instantly would be detained. If he escaped Nigeria, maybe by means of bribe, he would never escape the UK immigration.

The UK immigration cannot be bribed... Let's just say the doctor refused to be bribed as well, hence they tried to run to turkey...

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-10950461/Lincoln-Uni-BANS-organ-harvesting-Nigerian-professor-trafficked-teen-fake-passport.html
A forensic psychologist, Dr. Law Mefor has described David Nwamini Ukpo, the man at the centre of the issues leading to the arrest and remand of former Deputy Senate President, Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice as a serial liar who should not be taken seriously.

David Ukpo who was said to be the victim had taken to his facebook page to explain how he met Senator Ekweremadu and was allegedly lured from Nigeria to London for the harvesting of his kidney without his consent.

Ekweremadu, and his wife, Beatrice, were consequently arrested in London by the Metropolitan Police and charged with the alleged crime of trying to bring a child to the UK to allegedly harvest organs.

Mefor, a forensic psychologist was reacting to a Facebook post supposedly by Ukpo, where he claimed that he was lured to Europe by Ekweremadu with a promise of better life only for the lawmaker and his wife to try to harvest his kidney for their sick daughter.

Mefor, in his post, described Ukpo as “a serial liar and manipulator seeking sympathy when he should face the full weight of both the British and Nigerian laws”.

He said: “In the first place, one doubts that he really owns that Facebook account, which was opened less than 24 hours before the said post. It appears that some vested interests and internet contractors have taken over from where David left What I know is that Ukpo has been doing a lot of deleting and altering of details of his social media accounts since the Ekweremadu saga broke and he (Ukpo) was unmasked. This presents him for what he is – a shady, dishonest character.

“But even if Ukpo made the fallacious post claiming he was tricked to London, it is clear to the whole world now that he lied to the British Police when he presented himself as a homeless minor picked from Lagos streets, which I believe is a major factor that put Ekweremadu and wife in their present travail.

“All the information coming out, including his International Passport issued on 4th November 2021, his Bank Verification Number (BVN) done on 31st October 2019, his National Identity Number (NIN) done on 15th June 2021, the statement by the Nigerian Immigration Service, point to the fact that he was born on 12th October 2000 and is therefore 21 years old.

“In addition, his Facebook posts do not suggest the lifestyle of minor or an enslaved person, but a full blown adult cruising life.

“Therefore, I see no reason any right-thinking Nigerian should believe any further stories told by someone who obviously lied about his age in order to gain asylum and stay back in London”. The forensic psychologist and public analyst also wondered why someone, who was supposedly tricked to London on a promise of good life applied for and got a British Type D Visa as an adult.

“Everyone familiar with UK Visa processes knows that the ‘Type D Visa’, being a strictly Private Medical Treatment Visa, is a strenuous and meticulous process.

“Senator Ekweremadu’s letter supporting David’s visa application also fully disclosed that the young man was going for organ donation and declared the hospital for the procedure.

“So, David did not travel to the UK with a student visa or tourist visa or work visa. He travelled to the UK with Medical Visa for a defined purpose and all the current stories are mere afterthought to manipulate and regain the sympathy of Nigerians, which he lost when it became clear that he lied to bring not only Ekweremadu, but also the entire nation to international disrepute.

“Likewise, the story of how one Mr. Okoro met and recruited him at a construction site and both international passport and visa obtained within a week is so preposterous and hogwash. His Facebook information and testimonies of his brother and those who know him show he is into phone accessories.

“Also, a careful look at the data page of his international passport as well as the visa would easily show that the passport was issued on 4th November 2021, while the Visa was issued on 26th January 2022.

“It is equally instructive that David, who travelled to London since February 2022 only remembered that he was a tricked and trafficked minor on getting to the airport to board an already booked flight back to Nigeria after spending several months in London”.

Mefor urged well-meaning Nigerians to shift attention from the many lies of Ukpo and faceless internet contractors and focus on saving the life of Ms. Sonia Ekweremadu, who still needed kidney transplant and also ensure that truth and justice prevailed in the Ekweremadu and wife’s case to cleanse Nigeria the international embarrassment as well as enable the couple regain their freedom and take care of their sick daughter.

I’m shocked that these people believe that a Western court will consider a Dr who is diagnosing a person he has never met to be credible. The UK court would never consider this doctor as an expert witness. This false narrative was written for Nigerian consumption to take minds away from the matter at hand.
Which Doctor besides a Quack can assess and diagnose someone based on social media and fake blog posts? This is why the outside world considers Nigeria a joke.

the irony is that Sonia Ekeremadu's renal failure was being managed in the uk,

the UK of NHS and free health care
even if it was not free, her father clearly has enough money from his days as a politician

they were not based in the US, where out of control capitalistic health costs can immediately bankrupt you

her privileged circumstances, and the country in which she was based, meant that her kidney issues would be more of a managed inconvenience than a death sentence

we all know of different nigerians back home who have been financially wiped out after a few dialysis treatments.

so, quite simply, the one circumstance in her life when there was no choice but to get line like any other plebe, where wealth, position and connections meant nothing, was too much to bear, and now here we are

and of course, Nigerians, for all their complaints, actually celebrate oppression, which is why they refuse to see the power dynamic between ekeremadu and one construction worker.

unless Davis was a family friend, or a person from a similar background as the ekeremadus, this will always look like exactly what it is, a big man chancing a street urchin.

anyone who suddenly feels generous, please note, there are hundreds of desperately poor nigerians back home, who your kidney will serve far better than Sonia Ekermadu
Spot on

How will they take someone from Nigeria to UK to test if his kidney is a match, when it can be done here I Nigeria

Some blood test were carried out in Nigeria, and they confirmed the boy was a match before facilitating his travel documents

On getting to the UK, the doctor became suspicious of the said donor, and demanded his age and was shocked the boy was not even aware he was a donor, the doctor refused to carry out the procedure.

Then the Ekweremadus' decided to take this boy to Turkey for the procedure, since the UK has refused to carry out the procedure, and they started maltreating the boy at home.

It was at this point the boy ran out and reported himself to a police

Any news emanating from a Nigeria source is likely paid up story and false. The Ekweremadus as guilty of exploitation and modern day slavery crime. They think they can do anyhow in the UK because they can get away with almost anything in Nigeria.

I trust the UK justice system not to compromise this case unlike in Nigeria that anything can be bought.

The question you should ask are
1. What was the visa interview process like?
2. Who facilitated the trip?
3. For what reason?
4. Was the passport obtained for the boy with legitimate documents and in a legitimate way?

By the time you are through with these questions, you'll understand how guilty the ekweremadus are

Sane countries don’t arrest on mere allegations.

You are definitely not a lawyer, maybe a tea lady in a low level fim in some backwater US city. You only need reasonable suspicion /probable cause to arrest. These are very low bars. Millions of arrests are carried out based on mere allegations.

The second case is no case at all.
If the boy was paid in Nigeria, then the UK has no jurisdiction to prosecute Elweremmadu.
Paying for organ donation is not illegal in Nigeria.
So the whole substratum of the case has been demolished. It is therefore non sequitur to talk about financial inducement.

Assuming without conceding that payment for organ donation is not illegal in Nigeria, it becomes illegal in the UK if that payment that was made induced the boy into accepting to carry out the procedure in the UK. In other words the offense of Modern Day Slavery would have been committed.

Probable Cause is not enough to charge a person to court (it may be enough to commence investigation) for a criminal case where the standard is proof beyond reasonable doubt.

This isn't consistent at all. What of the passport shared online? What of the letter the senator sent to the embassy? Why on earth didn't the embassy conduct a visa interview? Isn't visa interviews meant for cases like this? Based on what did they grant visa to a 15 year old with no academic qualifications, no job offer, no university admission, no tangible ties to home country, no ties to destination country, etc.?

'He was provided with a medical travel visa saying the purpose of the travel was to provide medical treatment for the defendants' daughter who was undergoing dialysis in relation to a number of health issues.

He was given a visa stating the purpose of the travel was to provide medical treatment? Is he a doctor?

Please, you guys are tiring.
