Somebody once said" if you study Bible yourself, you will become atheist and if you become a Christian if Bible is been red for you "
The ultimate aim of Satan is to deviate a person from worshipping God, and he has achieved it by convincing some people that God doesn't exist. The new philosophy that teaches that is called stoicm.

While I won't exactly consider myself an atheist, I'm the farthest thing from religious, so I guess that counts.

My de-conversion story is a pretty long one. But to sum it all up, I became very inquisitive, and started to ask a lot of questions.

Those questions led to more questions, and eventually, after taking my time to learn more about religion, and about the universe, and actually taking an objective look at things, I realized there was not a lot of credible evidence for the beliefs which I previously held.

In the book of genesis, it was recorded that God created Adam and Eve. And they were the first being ever created. They had children. Cain and Abel were amongst the children they had.

It was recorded that Cain killed his brother Abel out of jealousy. It was also recorded that God cursed Cain and send him away from the rest of his people. It was recorded that God put a mark on Cain so that anyone that see him will not kill him.

My question now is who are these people that would kill him when Adam and eve were the first creation. Is it there there are other people in the world apart from Adam and Eve?
The people were themselves also descended from Adam and Eve. undecided

Good religions promote positive values like:
1. Do not kill
2. Love your neighbor
3. Do not steal what's not yours
4. Do not fornicate or commit adultery
5. Do not sleep with your neighbour's or friend's wife.
6. Etc.

Much as God didn't create any religion, any religion that doesn't promote those good virtues above should be avoided.

In the end, God will determine where we will spend our eternity and how we will be judged will depend on what the religion we believe in teaches us.

Let me know if you have any other questions...

God didn't create any religion. (SmartPolician~2022).

So who created religion & why?

African Traditional Religion,
Hinduism,
Confucius,
Eckankar, &
Christianity, are examples of religions that promotes the good values you listed. There are others that promote the same teachings yet they don't believe in heaven/afterlife.

So in a nutshell, which god/religion is the accurate one?

OK, what of the fact the Cain married from people that came out of nowhere shocked
See it here:
And Cain went out from the presence of the LORD, and dwelt in the land of Nod, on the east of Eden.

And Cain knew his wife; and she conceived, and bare Enoch: and he builded a city, and called the name of the city, after the name of his son, Enoch.
Cain, like his brothers, also married from among his relatives/sisters. undecided

If these arguments are to go on till another 100 centuries we won't still find the right answers.

But here is the true facts
You can't be a deep thinker and read the bible and the stories and not question the existence of God.

What is the fate of these deep thinkers?
Most of them became atheists and some their views about God changed.

But does that mean God doesn't exist?

This is a question you either answer by yourself or let the religion you are brought into answer it for you, you should know what the later means "mental slavery"

1. If a person creates a thing that kills people, we condemn that person. God made wicked people, and we just have to accept it?

2. But let's be rational: neither of us is going to change their opinion; neither of us really knows the truth, even though we may strongly believe in our positions. I can't accept your use of the Bible to prove the existence of God, any more than I can accept sacred texts from the Egyptians or Mayans. In turn, you can't accept that your Bible is not the source of truth, and all you think you know has been written in it's pages.

Let's chill out, have a beer, and try to enjoy the life we have. It's the only thing we know for sure.
1. Really? You condemn the man who firsts invented knives? undecided

God didn't make wicked people. He instead made man good. Then he gave to man the choice of good and evil, and man chose evil. undecided

2. That's irrational thinking there since you have absolutely no way of confirming that what I know isnt in fact the absolute Truth. You instead assume it isn't because you would rather believe so than trust me claim. undecided

Asking endless questions tends to that most especially in your quest at endless questions, you fall into the depths of stupidity where none can pull you out from.

And then it is from that place of stupidity that you people speak from.

Since when is it a bad thing to ask questions. The only difference between the person who asks and the person who doesn't, is that the former has a desire to learn, while the latter doesn't. Asking questions doesn't make one stupid. Now you just sound salty.

Sure, by the Roman Catholic political/military influence. The same Crusaders I talked about.
If you read deep about the RC you'll know why they're sometimes referred to as an occult group. They feign Christianity, but are into pagan worship, but that's another story for another day. When I say Christianity wasn't spread by the sword I'm simply talking about her ingrained doctrine of gaining followers and how it started.
Don't let it mix with the idea of how Islam spread.
Don't put them in a sentence.
This is where most folks get it wrong, the Spanish and Portuguese who invaded and conquered SA were military officers or "gold seekers" who were acting on orders of the King of both Spain and Portugal, nothing religious about it.
It was after the invasion that the church decided to spread Christianity and also educate the natives.

This statements refers to other being’s, I doubt if Satan was created, I believe Satan was also one of the beings, God found a way of being the supreme over the other beings by Creating humans, humans feeds God by giving him glory and praises, Satan feeds from humans, by pain and fear, now I believe Satan also want’s to be supreme just like God, that’s where pride crept in.

As a student of philosophy, I would have loved to comment on the first page so a lot of people can understand.

In summary, religion is the opium of the people according to Karl Marx. It only gives you false hopes while you consciously allow your life slip away from you.

Religion is the main reason Africa is no where to be found in terms of development.

I weep for Africans, if we fail to see this earlier, we might just never grow.

I haven't read the entire Quran. Maybe a few bits and pieces here and there. But it still seems to be just about the same thing. No religious text so far, seems to offer reasonable evidence-backed knowledge on the nature of our reality. Emphasis on evidence-backed.

One thing I've learnt about atheists is that they have herd mentality. There are only very few atheists but you see the rest are either followers, angry people, and those who don't like extra activities.

However, the majority even from the comments are ex-christians. The common excuse is they are not convinced about the existence of God. So, many of them will simply tell you that's why they became atheist. What they won't tell you is the disappointment they have felt.

Many have had experiences where they thought or expected God to do something but they got nothing. In anger, they left the religion because they saw no point to it. While another group fall in the category of those forced to go to church as kids on Sunday. They'd rather be at home watching a movie or with their PS4. Growing up gave them the opportunity to stay back at home.

They got used to it and so Sundays became like every other day and they forgot about church. Since they don't bother well it's as good as there's no point of religion. Then the last group which constitute the majority is school. Well that's where most people don't go to church, I never did in school. But you see when someone says there's no God, the other person well thinks it's cool and they sort of become atheists by association. So they hang around and argue the whole idea why Christians are nuts. It's a fun conversation, they flow with it and then bam, they are now confirmed atheists.

So that's about it.

For the record, I won't blame many atheists partly for not believing in the existence of the Almighty Jehovah GOD but I will rather blame religion for imparting the wrong knowledge of GOD in them when they were still conformists.

You see, religion was supposed to help people find their path to the throne of the almighty but instead it only brings utter confusion to the minds of conformists. This confusion arises from a myriad of misconceptions about God, doctrines and dogmas crafted by man's imagination instead of by God's inspiration.

Personally, I do not identify with any religion but I identify as a believer- a believer of the gospel, the finished work of christ on the cross of calvary; the trinity, heaven and hell and all other things based on biblical knowledge solely.

Today's contemporary Religions are all man made and do not reflect God's inspired religion in anyway, if you doubt me then read James 1:27 to understand what true religion is all about.

My advice to all Atheists and wannabe Atheists out there is to turn away from whatever dissapointments they experienced while conforming to religion in the time past.

GOD truly exists, no bullshitting here but to attest to his existence one has got to connect on a personal basis through Jesus christ and not through some religion or religious leader.

As a Scientist, having understood everything about plants and animals(humans included), the definite pattern of systems to bring about efficiency,I conclude that sad1)THERE IS A DESIGNER.THAT PERSON IS GOD AND HE IS WAY BIGGER THAN WHAT HE CREATED....secondly,after studying different narrations of the origin of this world,I also conclude that the Version of creation illustrated in the HOLY BIBLE is the most reliable.....KNOW THIS AND KNOW PEACE..There is nothing much about atheism..its just ignorance and mental myopia.
Re: Why Did You Become An Atheist by FrauleinBlossom(f): 7:31pm On Jun 29, 2022
Atheists may well be the weirdest folks I know, but in some ways, I've come to respect them..
It is difficult to find humans today who still do good for the sake of the happiness and benefits it affords other fellow humans without expectations therefrom. Most of our seemingly good actions today are propelled by the promise of a reward, whether of an earthly nature or an eternal one. There's the 'Oh let me just help this man, I believe God will in turn help me' underlying attitude to our actions.
But the atheists? These people do not believe in a God nor do they expect eternal rewards, but you still find them (some of them anyway) do good.. solely for goodness sake, for the fulfilment, joy and happiness it brings. I think this is worth emulating.. Well perhaps, the only thing good worth emulating in them.
Now, before I confer far too much credit upon these folks than they deserve.. I wish to also reveal their apparent folly. Yes indeed, it is folly to have become far too neglectful as to deny the obvious and embrace conceit. As little as we are as humans in the face of this gigantic universe, we assume we know too much as to think we have an opinion in matters of eternity not to mention 'Divinity'.. Just picture to yourself, an earthworm below the soil surface, boasting of superiority and claiming complete control of the earth crust in utter disregard for the humans that walk above it!
It is not difficult to find God and be convinced of His existence, there's a certain drive within us as humans to discover Him, whether in form of search for a reason, for continued living or a sense of purpose.. This urge is naturally present in every man and the more open we are to true knowledge, the more radiant are these flickering sparks within us and the closer we get to finding God.
I've acquainted with a few atheists and I've noticed a pattern in their reasoning.. Most of these people have a religious background which is responsible for their doubts and misinformed resolutions. Well that takes only a fragment of the blame away from them, the many gaps, disconnections, unanswered questions, contradictions and blind faith demanded of them from their former religious circles plunge them into a state of weariness and eventually they give up on their search.. And arrive at the conclusion that it is all fallacy!
The stronger this resolution becomes, the more suppressed is that natural urge in form of living sparks to discover God and finally a complete deadening. Their reasoning and awareness then become limited to time and space and nothing else makes sense that is not scientifically proven nor logically conclusive. What these people fail to realize is that even science knows there's is more to what we can see, feel and touch, it acknowledges the existence of a source or universal power or energy that animates every living substance and brings about the order and laws that guide all matter.
Just look at the blooming flowers in the garden, the green vegetation, the trees and the fruits they bear, the mountains, landscapes and Meadows, the sun, moon and stars, take a moment and think carefully about these... There has got to be some power that brings about the order we notice amongst these things and fuels the motion in them.
The mistake we made from the very beginning is that we have narrowed down the concept of God to fit our human ways of reasoning with all its limitations, we assume God is a man with supernatural powers seated on a throne in a world far above us and overseeing our every actions. The truth is, we cannot begin to conceptualize the nature of The Godhead and should only be content with the fact that He simply Is!
Just like the sun lights up the entire earth, in an inconceivable and unapproachable distance, So also does God as the only Living Power and Light give life and light to this entire creation. You need only experience life in a child-like manner, free from all assumptions and intellectual calculations to be convinced of this truth. Even those who claim to be believers of God possess no real knowledge nor conviction about this, but merely stand blindly on a learned and borrowed faith. Give them another earth life where they are born amongst the so-called heathens and pagans and see if they don't join in the audible denial.
Well, I expect that many atheists might read this and merely scorn or laugh in ridicule.. But I will advise that you reconsider your positions and choose the safer side, what I mean is this; atheists believe in the finality of death, that is.. No continued existence after death, they believe it all ends here, just live, die and that's it.. But Believers in God on the other hand believe otherwise. Now, (speaking to the atheist) if it so happens that you are wrong in your disbelief, and you eventually die.. You have everything to lose, because you'd be forced to face a world you have denied its existence all your earth life, and do you know what it would be like for you in that world? I assure you, it's better imagined than experienced.. But if indeed (For the sake of logic) that you're right in your disbelief, then isn't the fate the Same for all of us, (both the believers and non believers)?? to die and cease to exist?? Pray tell then, Who stands on the safest conviction?!
You all claim to be intelligent folks, so I'd leave you to answer for yourselves.

[quote author=Righthussle post=114266519]I am not an atheist , I am a theist but I don't practice any religion. I simply live my life just believing there's a being who put all the things we see and call the universe together. I don't care about the being at all and I don't believe the being whether it is a he or a she has a son or messenger or anything of that sort. I just live. I do good not because i want reward from the being, I do good because it feels good to be good. I don't have words like "Sin" or "Fornication" etc in my dictionary, I eat and do only what the law permits. I don't live my life according to the dictates of any silly religious scriptures.

I was a Christian until the day I read numbers 31.
That is a belief and it qualifies as a religion. Refusing to choose is also a choice you know.

While I can't speak for the remaining 2 categories, I think you may be wrong on the first one. Sure, I'm not denying the possibility that people like this could exist, but disbelieving in a god simply because you didn't get answers to your prayers is a pretty poor reason.

If there's one thing I can relate to, it's the part of not being convinced about the existence of a God, or at least, in the sense that religion tries to paint it. This isn't due to some prayer that didn't get answered. It's simply due to lack of evidence for the concept of God painted by religion. This is me speaking for myself btw. I can't verify what other non-believers think.

Everybody was actually born atheist. We grow up to learn about religion. We were only indoctrinated while growing up.

Growing up, I thought I was going to become a pastor. so I started reading (I've completed the bible more that thrice) and memorize the bible very early. It was the bible itself that makes me to ask a lot of questions that led to my factory re-set. The God of the bible seem unrighteous to me, thinks and act like human.

There is nothing like a God-being in our factory re-set, there is no heaven, there is no hell. We only learn those things while growing up.

That is why almost every body believes the that God of their individual parents is the only God and that his religion is the only accepted religion.

I read about 'historical Jesus' too. And discover that all of our cherished stories are fabricated and not true.

It will surprise you to know that:

-- there is no real historical Jesus in the world true human history. Many fabricated stories....
-- there is no heaven
-- there is no hell
-- prayer doesn't get answered
-- there is no spirit
-- there is no Angel
-- there is no Satan
-- there is no life after death or after life
-- charms don't work
-- there is no karma
-- there are no witches and wizard

I believe religion makes people to be more evil than good. Many are kept under the fear of heaven and hell to do the little good they can. They are not allowed to experience the true beauty of being good, honest, diligent and being a person of integrity without the fear of hell destruction, or expectation of an heavenly reward or karma.

Best thing I've read in awhile. Big ups, man with great IQ!!

And the natives of places where the peaceful Christian colonisers arrived that didn't accept religion, what do you think happened to them? Besides old Christian sects like the coptics in Africa, and the Church of Antioch, the foremost Christian sect was the one established after Constantine converted. Do note that:
The Roman empire at the time was a large empire that occupied much of Europe and north africa, so when Constantine converted, it allowed for easy spread of Christianity;
Roman empire at the time was frail and was about to fall apart so Constantine needed Christianity for a sort of unification amongst it's subjects.
İf this isn't colonialism's hardwork, i don't know what it is.

Islam didn't convert everyone they conquered. Andalusia ie modern Spain and Portugal can attest to that. Non Muslims had to pay a form of tax or convert to avoid taxes. Guess what, when the Moors finally left Andalusia, Muslims and Jews were forced to convert or we're even q
Good findings.
Forceful expansion wasn't and isn't a Scriptural doctrine for Christians unlike islam . Colonialism wasn't driven by the quest to spread religion. Religious influence just like cultural influence, was a by product colonization. Its different from the case of what fell Constantinople and the Usman Dan Fodio quest to spread a religion.
