Visa given : standard visit visa 5 years for me and wifey. 6 months for daughter(she’s a first timer). We’re awaiting two more passports. One new applicant (already received a refusal) and the other is renewal. Both passport are not ready.
For my fellow ‘May’ peeps, here is the reality - your passport is ready & you might get a notification anytime from now. The Ikeja queue for collection is too much. They’re releasing these documents in batches to avoid overcrowding. Ikeja is for the masses. Thank you all, especially to @abbeymama(not sure if I spelt that well). Yerima 2 congrats.

thank you all for your contributions and best of luck!

Wow this is concerning o.. Emergencies can happen that will make one withdraw multiple times from their account..

This happened to me recently. I quoted 150k as my monthly expenses and submitted a 6 months bank statement out of which two months I spent more than 150k. Even after I explained in a cover letter that these were a necessary one-off purchase. The ECO still refused my application.

Now two weeks after I haven’t gotten my passport or a collection mail from tls.

@giselle237 are the ECO's only concerned about deposits into the account or they also watch out for withdrawals and transfers from accounts?
I will appreciate a prompt response.

What type of service did he select at TLS? Because for self-service, statement should be uploaded online before the interview.

I am not so sure though. Wait for others' opinions...

He will hv to pay about 11k for Assisted service to upload it at Tls during biometric

You mean. Assisted service which requires them to scan your documents is no longer #11,600?
You can't opt for assisted service when all along you chose, self service. grin

Good evening house. Please I got a refusal mail since 30th June 2022 and tracking its still showing with DMC. How long does it take for one to get her passport after refusal? Also would like to query the exception raised as per my salary. I work with a bank and am surprised this was raised, my salary was changed sometimes last year but I didn't include the letter used to advise me in my application and pay slip in my application. Kindly advise because I want to send administrative review. For those that have send administrative review kindly help out with sample used.

You can upgrade to assisted service on the day of your biometrics if you have additional documents to upload after submitting self service earlier.
You will have to pay the 11.6k.

I don't know what the current situation is but as at few years back, if you are transiting for 96hours or less a d flying Emirate, you can apply for the visa on arrival at the airport.

Someone please help!

I am planning to apply for a standard visitors visa (academics) or Temporary Work – Government Authorised Exchange visa (for sponsored researcherer) - (not even sure which one to go for yet) in September or thereabout for a Postdoctoral research visit for 12 months in UK. My question is about my Passport which expires in 13 September 2023 but the suppose visit would end 30 September 2023. Do I need to renew my passport in order to have the whole period of visit/visa covered in the passport or I should go ahead and apply with the passport that would expire before my visit ends?

Please I need your advice. Thanks in advance.

Go ahead and use your passport like that. You can't renew your passport until it's less than 6 month validity.

Thank you for your swift response.

I was in contact with an immigration officer earlier and he was like I need to renew it and he would help me seek approval from their Passport Controller at an extra charge. That's why I'm here to be sure of what I'm doing; so that at long run, I won't be given that it's impossible after making such effort and payment.

Also, I will like to know if one can travel with an expiry date back to Naija given the expiry date I mentioned earlier and the end of the visit or would I need to do Renewal in UK?

Thanks again!
