Come and see this brilliant comment na. This was exactly what I was saying the other day on how Ten hag used Blind so Maguire won't have any problem when that one was saying nonsense about highline this and highline that. It's so refreshing when you see a comment that corresponds with your line of thought. Read

""""The disadvantage of having slower straight line speed for centre backs is usually grossly overstated. There are
many ways of defending in the middle third of the pitch that doesn't involve just sprinting backwards. I'm not
sure why many act like playing in a high defensive line means the defenders constantly running backwards
chasing the opposition's forwards. For what it's worth, the average CB is never catching the average forward once the latter gets a yard. The key to
making a high defensive line work is to ensure the CBs rarely get in such positions. The extra CB and FBs are
there for cover and a sweeper keeper is usually employed. That's how I expect Ten Hag and Maguire to play it
unless De Gea is going to pull up after every 30 yard sprint of course. The defenders at the likes of Manchester City, Liverpool and other teams that want to play in the opposition's half
regularly come up against forwards much faster than them, and do just fine. Aymeric Laporte and Ruben Dias are
never going to beat Miguel Almiron in a foot race, but they do just fine when Man City come up against
Newcastle. It's okay if you argue against Maguire's caliber, but not sure why his pace is going to be the reason
why he can't be the same. Defenders playing in high defensive lines are always going to come up and contest one-on-one duels against
forwards much faster than them. It's not uncommon, and Maguire won't be the only relatively slow CB out there.
What matters is being in positions to intercept the through balls, getting tight to avoid being squared up, staying
strong to avoid being rolled, and the other defenders and goalkeeper providing the cover they are expected to. Maguire admittedly had a very terrible season last time, but when in form, he is strong physically, aggressive and
proactive up the pitch in the sense that he tries to get himself in good positions before the attacker receives the
ball. He is usually close to the top of the interception stats for defenders which shows that he is very good at
getting himself between man and ball, a very effective way to defend against forwards that are much quicker. He
is strong in the air too, so the ball is not going to be flying over him."""

We're still very far from matching up with the best teams when it comes to midfield. Even the team C dominated our midfield. Our pacy attack bailed us out. I'm sure ETH is not carried away by the scoreline and saw how useless our middle can be

What's the essence of this long shalaye? VDB played with 2kids who outshone him in every department yesterday sad
DVD was even available for that counter that resulted in the fourth goal but he wasn’t involved.

But ball no touch him leg from beginning of counter to end of goal.

The only way he could’ve been involved was if he went and hit the ball into the net again after Pellistri had scored.

Fabrizio Romano: Frenkie De Jong’s agents Ali Dursun and Hasan Cetinkaya have informed Barcelona that Frenkie has still no intention to leave - also that Frenkie and agents are not accepting any salary reduction, or talks related to that.

Man United are also informed - deal now stalling.

The average Man United fan cycle.

1. United plays well and gets a good win.
2. Hype the useless players as the next best thing.
3. Lose/Draw a couple of games.
4. Blame the manager and the rest of the fanbase that dont agree with them.
5. Manager gets sacked/Season ends poorly.
6. Agree to some extent the players were never good enough in the first palce.
7. Get hyped again for the new season.
8. Back to number one.

Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

Bruno is the best attacking midfielder in the premier League after de bruyne to an extent. Bruno came to a disjointed manutd team and literally lifted it he won the player of the year that season. You can't say the same for Fred. Fred is good but average at best. No comparison with rodri.i can name 10 midfielders in the premier League that are better than Fred. But I can name up to 3 that are better than Bruno. Take away Bruno from manutd and you will see us struggling to create chance and score goals even score PK. People don't know the value of what dey have

I dare you to name ten midfielders with stats from the last season that makes them better than Fred. I just asked you to bring stats for Rodri vs Fred last season and it choked you lmao. When stats makes Fred brilliant than the other midfielders you will discard it as deceiving but when it gets to pernandes you will embrace it lmao. It's hilarious how you cannot see what's going on here,

It's obvious that our coach is trying to control the narrative from the press, but some people are masturbating already.

Fun fact: All your faves played against Liverpool's feeder team. So there's nothing really there to see cheesy

He's already said he wants to assess the squad and that's why he's made no changes so far.

Maguire is still the captain and the XI remains the XI.

It is expected that any new acquisition will be gradually eased into the team, while the old unrepentant cabal of unserious players will be quietly moved on - and rightly so.

But if you think Erisken, who's at least assured of a starting berth at Brentford, chose United over Brentford just to come watch our midfield stink up the place from the bench, then you're just being naive.

When our gra gra finish and we're into the season proper, the new signings will be gradually eased in.

Like I said: we'll see who will turn up when it matters the most. The season is a Marathon afterall.
