At least you manage go Yankee, even as a laborer, your pay will be better over there and you think someone who struggle through school to become an Engineer is not serious enough, over a meagre pay of 50k.
He should have informed his boss but the punishment is harsh, at least a warning should do.

There is alot of construction site everywhere you look for another one, and there is a house being constructed opposite my house and a guy who works there as a helper and not an engineer makes that 50k in 5 days because he makes nothing less than 10k everyday, you can see that your boss is using you and be glad he relieve you of your job,

Be patience bro... God is taking u on a journey to success, but be deligent in whatever u do, and dont habour ill feeling towards anybody even ur boss. Kneel doen and talk to God. Lemme tell me i. A living testimony, just last 2month i was running on a 50k salary job with harsh conditions, even used my salary to do most of the the job, wirh no refund or imprest at the end of the month, end of last month i had a zoom interview from a reputable finteh company an. All is history now. Got a 200k plus job after tax with all allowances and benefit HMO included. God works in mysterious ways

I earn less than 20k, a month... Infact sometimes, it's less than 15k a month. But I still save up some little peanut...

U shod have inform him before u left since it is not yet closing time.....I think the issue is not dat u went to eat at home but u didn't inform him that u are leaving the place.....Well dat is Ur side of the story.

We can't blame your boss for wanting a more competent and reliable person.. Not somebody that succumbs to the calling of his stomach ahead of the job that gives him food.. You see always think from the perspective of the owner, not just your own perspective.. Imagine if your the owner of a site worth millions? That's why not everybody can be a boss in life.. This mentality of yours can't get you far..

Anyway, site work abound, with better pay sef. So don't feel you can't do better. Go out and look around. And hope he settled you every dime he owes you..

PHCN and Taxes and increase in store rent go still frustrate the business.. Salary work Na useless work.. they move us from LGA to State as Health Agency the first salary wey them pay, they omitted many persons including me.. And Na the salary I take they run home.. As salary no come, come see Bleep up... White collar job Na just overrated kind of Job

I was already a graduate back in 1990 when i travelled to spain through road/sea,i guess that's a lot of risk.Today many graduates are paid 20k monthly and yet still dedicated to their jobs,an employee that is good is good baring any circumstance.every manager has his own way of giving punishment,i think if he is humble enough to beg his boss,he will be forgiven.

As the boss of my own small firm, I can't count how many days I stay hungry on site just to make sure all sections of work, no matter how little are carried out to specification before attempting to even order for food or to leave the site.
There is a chain of command on every serious construction site. Your boss handed over the site to you to make up for his absence.
Who did you hand over the site to before taking a break?
And did you pass this information to your boss before leaving?

Take it as a teaching moment and learn from this mistake. Construction is no joke.
A doctor makes a mistake in the theater, only one person dies.
Make a mistake in construction and you have a greater number of people dead or hurt.
