Hello all, can someone pls help me make sense of this.
Family of 3 did biometrics 16th of May
14th June, 1 passport delivered Visa granted.
After several complaints and paid mail, was told on the 5th of July that decision has been made on the remaining 2 applications l, that visa was issued on the 1st and 4th of July respectively.
13th of July collection mail for 1passport whose visa was issued on the 4th.
14th of July it was delivered and the visa was issued on the 4th.
I have not received any collection mail about the remaining passport, whose visa was issued on the 1st of July. Tracking still says at DMC.
It's puzzling and worrying at the same time cos one would expect I would receive the one that was issued on July 1st before the one of July 4th. Has this ever happened to anyone? Should I be worried? Or is this TLScontact logistic confusion?

Hi guys,

Please i had a US visa (two years) which expired in July 2020 but i did not use it (i.e., didn't travel) due to change of plans coupled with COVID issues. How do i incorporate this fact in my travel history? Other countries i have visited include UAE, Egypt and South Africa but i believe if i had gone to US it would have further boosted my travel history, however i couldn't go. How can i capture this fact in my application? Thanks.

Make a photocopy of the US visa and include it as part of your documentation. However, there is no guarantee the ECO will consider it, since it does not demonstrate a travel history.

Visa Alert!!!
10 years Standard Visitor visa
TLS Ikeja

Previous UK travel history (6 months)
Application and payment date - 31st May 2022
Biometrics date - 9th June 2022
Transfer to DMC - 9th June 2022
Received by DMC - 14 June 2022
Transferred to VAC - no mail, no information as per tracking
Received by VAC - no mail, no information as per tracking
Collection Mail - Twice on 13th & 14th July 2022
Collected - Today, 15th July 2022

Interestingly the Visa was issued 5th of July (a day before the proposed travel date of 6th of July). So they tried for me to make my trip but perhaps the TLS logistics failed them. Painfully I forgot to cancel my hotel booking and was debited cry

I was honestly worried I might not be given 10 years especially because I went straight from 6 months, but I was just tired of what I went through while renewing my passport and the chaos I witnessed when driving pass the TLS Ikeja earlier this year; it was pure madness. So decided to be out of the mess for 10 years; and boom it paid off.

Key points:
I was very open and truthful; I was once denied a Canada visa and I was open about it. I stated I do not understand why the visa was denied but I believed the visa officer must have made an error in denying me the Canada visa.
I explained every transaction not supported by my payslip; including ATM reversals of 10k - i was that detailed.
I had a good bank balance and was ready for them.
I believe I have a good job as well - this is relative though.

This experience has proven that you can go straight for 10 years from 6 months; but I will still not advice anybody to do it as the visa officer has the right to reduce the length of visa granted. I would say I was lucky with my gamble.

Please if you want to pickup your passports, please go early ooo, I was there for over 3 hours. the queue was out of this world.

Thanks and have a good evening. See you in 10 years grin grin grin

Congratulations!!! Your story is a testimony. Make sure that you use the visa well well oh which is roughly equivalent to 10 times that of 6 months application fees. 10 years is not application fee is not cheap!

I did 5 years after weighing that my visits to the UK has reduced drastically coupled with covid, no free accommodation and may not visit more than once in a year. Had visa UK issued in March 2022, yet to use it. Anyway enjoy your trip.

You should reapply but not asap. File for your company's annual returns,( I used my lawyer cos too many quacks).. It wont cost much. Tell tge person filling for you to kill them with emails until the status changes to ACTIVE...

After that, Print your companys account and your salary account to show the source of your salary... Then include a self explanatory letter. thats all you needed. Your salary is cool. your monthly expenses is cool if you are single but stylishly low if married and have kids, your budget is very good.

To be Honest my application I will term it as so so simple application, at some point I felt I may not be given Visa cos I didn't include so many things I have now learnt never to ignore on this thread, cos I found this thread after I submitted and the long delay was happening and my travel date was approaching. If am to apply again I will definitely do it differently, thanks to everyone for all the knowledge shared here, I can now advise people better.

I only submitted Employment Letter, Employer introduction letter, payslips, recent salary review letter (cos they were going to see it in my salary account statement), salary account statement, savings account, my BOA account statement (I still maintain this as my dollar account), one family picture, proof of tenancy, marriage cert that was all.

No promotion letter, No cover letter and my savings account statement was a total mess with lots of cash inflow and outflow I didn't explain anywhere but I have had a good balance all along.

I won't be making the trip anymore cos what I needed it for has passed, however if anyone sees ticket to UK for nothing above 200k grin grin grin please holla me, make I enter plane go Primark grin grin

You are one of the good men on this thread, thank you Sir

giselle237:
I will be posting it one by one for them to see by themselves.

The following factors will help you assess if an applicant is a genuine visitor:
• their previous immigration history, including visits to the UK and other countries
• the duration of previous visits and whether this was significantly longer than they originally stated on their visa application or on arrival - if this is the case, you should not automatically presume that the visitor is not genuine, but this may be a reason to question the applicant’s overall intentions
• their financial circumstances as well as their family, social and economic background
• their personal and economic ties to their country of residence
• the cumulative period of time the applicant has visited the UK and their pattern of travel over the last 12-month period, and whether this amounts to ‘de-facto’ residence in the UK
• whether, on the balance of probabilities, the information and the reasons for the visit or for extending their stay provided by the applicant are credible and correspond to their personal, family, social and economic background

Travel/ immigration history
You must consider the applicant’s travel history in their passport or travel document (and, for visa applications, that listed on the application form). A pattern of travel that shows the applicant has previously complied with UK immigration law may indicate the applicant is likely to be a genuine visitor, as might travel to other countries, especially the USA, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Schengen countries or Switzerland.
If an applicant has previously failed to comply with another country’s immigration law, for example if they have been removed from another country, or if they have been refused entry to another country, this may suggest that an applicant is not likely to be a genuine visitor (depending on the circumstances).
Travel history should not be the only consideration in deciding whether you are satisfied an applicant is a genuine visitor. In particular there may have been a change in circumstances since previous travel. You should consider all relevant information for each application including any social and economic factors and any locally held information.
Where the applicant is a first-time traveller, you will need to rely on other evidence to satisfy you they are a genuine visitor.

I've been a silent reader. I learnt alot from this thread. I applied for myself, my husband and 2 kids. We all got. My husband's biometrics was on the 30th May, (my kids were same as me on the 26th May) but we got mail to collect same day. Thanks for all the assistance rendered here.

I used @sokotogudali cover letter format, I also got an invite from a relative in the UK. A lot of pple discouraged me, said I shld build travel history first, but I read alot here and had faith.

For Abuja TLS, once it six weeks, u can go there and check. Immediately I got the paid mail response on the 14th, I prepared to go and check, I got the collection mail after I had collected. Lol

Like you advised people shouldn't take this kind of risk, its rare you are one lucky people I must say, I advise one goes from 6months to 2yrs to 10yrs

Get your company accountant to provide details of your paid month by month and if their any issues, why it was so. Get your company to update their CAC records or at least provide you with written explanation why the company status is inactive. By the way no tourist will spend that much for just a 6 days trip.

Hi everyone,

I applied for visitor's visa to the UK and did my biometrics on June 13th.
June 20th - Email that application has been transferred to UKVI
June 27th - Application has reached UK Visa section

I'm supposed to travel on the 24th for a 3-week conference but the organisers have said a one-week delay is permissible for me due to the visa issue.

By these timelines, do you guys think this trip will still be possible? Should I send a reminder to TFS or UKVI asking for an update?

Thanks

I was denied uk visa Feb 2, what time or period can I reapply?

Secondly, it was stated that I can't not use the my business statement of account, that I need to provide my own statement.

Can someone pls list the necessary documents for uk tourist visa
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 5 by DrStrangelove: 5:18pm On Jul 16, 2022
Good day

Sorry about ur refusal. U can reapply as soon as u feel u have corrected every issue raised during ur refusal.

As for the non usage of ur business account, maybe ur business profile at CAC is inactive or maybe u stated ur going for a personal visit and the entries in ur business account were not adding up. Probably trying to calculate ur disposable income which they couldn't measure with ur business account.

For documents, look for those that can give u ties to the country like property docs, shares certificates, fixed income certificate, investment certificate

Others are 6 months personal or salary bank statements, tax payments, marriage certificate (if any). Try to explain any irregular amounts on ur bank statement. Also get an hotel booking

Goodluck

Good day,

Hmmm....American frowns at ur non-usage of ur very first visa. I don't know why but maybe coz they would have used ur visiting them to profile u.

Be that as it may, thank God ur going to the UK. Forget mentioning about US visa though the VO might see it on ur passport (if it's the same passport u will be using). On the application, they only ask which countries u have been to and not the ones uv gotten visas for unless u write about it in the additional information section. Pls don't write about it at all as now the VO would be wondering why u didn't go and be filling their head with ideas.

Just list the other countries uv been to and have a good salary and bank statement and u should be fine.

Goodluck
