Nah. For the AWCON and most other international competitions, it’s a one-match ban (provided the player wasn’t carrying 2 yellows prior to the straight red)

Iwobi missed 3 matches for his AFCON tackle

He actually missed two games - the WC qualifiers vs Ghana.

You may be right - Ayinde and Ajibade’s straight reds would rule them out of the bronze medal match and the 1st WC game. Damn!

I think its mainly CAF competitions they will miss, like 3 qualifying matches or next WAFCON 2 group matches..

iwobi will miss at least one more nations cup qualifier.

CAFs ban will be honored by FIFA at the WC. So, its the Bronze match and 1st WC game they will miss - unless CAF has a few qualifiers for the next WAFCON, Olympics or any other competition, then they will miss a match in there.
Nothing spoil.

Super impressive.

No team can ever pull that feat in this tournament. It's sad we failed through penalties. But penalties are mostly luck.

Huge shout-out to
Ucheibe
Plumptre
Payne
Ebi
Nnadozie
Ajibade
Ohale
Gift (the hope in attack when all was against us)

My stand out players.

Shoutout to Randy and his assistant. From Botswana till Morocco. You've been a good coach. Setting up a 9 against 11 game is not an easy feat.

We play against Zambia and hopefully we use bronze medal hold body.
when are we playing Zambia pls?

This is the type of situation that goes on in so many American High schools. The coach has the players he likes and no matter how good the others do he won't change his mind.

Waldrum knows Ifeoma has been having a tough tournament, he knows Kanu was having a better game, he knows Chikwelu is a step behind and he definitely knows Gift Monday should have been a starter or at least come in earlier. I am not giving him credit for the girls digging in because he did almost nothing to help.

Yeah i believe Monday should have start or comes earlier, the coach should have move kanu to the center and bring in Monday, kanu also needs to learn to play with teammates

Calm down sir Basco, it is what it is, and be that as it may, we moveeee......

Somebody should drop and CAF, pages on SM, FB, Twitter, Tiktok, anyone, let's start a protest there, they must revet back to status quo,

This new zonal nonsense must stop,
Also if it's possible let's log an appeal for the match to be replayed, it's more than a daylight robbery that rob us of LA Decima

Ify was clearly tired in the second half, and he still left her on... Bringing on Chikwelu was another comedic error...
IMO, after we scored, Ify should have been taken for Otu, to keep the midfield tight...Kanu should have been moved up front...
Randy goofed to be honest...

Anyway, I think he should be allowed to take the girls to the world cup.... Sacking him now won't do the team any good... Our performance has really improved... The coach just need to do away with favoritism...

I am almost convinced this is way beyond a coach's preference, it has more to do with Waldrum's non-faith in home based products. Waldrum has worked all his life in the US, both as a college coach and as a NWSL coach a few times. So he'll rather play those he thinks will understand his system (even if it means playing them out of position) than "gamble" on a homegrown player. If he chooses a player who grew in Nigeria, it's because they either have experience or are already playing at a top flight club in Europe.

He'll rather play a Plumptre, Alozie and Payne out of position than use an Akudo Ogbonna. He'll rather have the veteran Chikwelu (who also plays in Spain) start than play an Ucheibe. You'll also remember he didn't even invite Monday Gift initially, but for the outcry of persons on social media. I can go on and on but it's obvious he has little confidence in home grown product. I won't blame him really, I'll blame those who gave him the job.

By the way, this is in no way a reflection on the players mentioned, they are fantastic players in their own right, however with a poor coach.

I sincerely think we should let him go. I'm not one who advocates indiscriminately for the asking of coaches but keeping him is in my opinion giving him the team who should give someone else to build on. Truth is, whether now or later, Waldrum will be asked. You can see clearly he experimented with this team throughout the tournament. He didn't particularly know who his first 11 was and had to try out several combinations till we got here. Some of his best players weren't even in his initial plan. Just mentally imagine this tournament without Ngozi Okobi and Monday Gift and you'll realise what I mean

Moving forward i this players should give way for better talent in the team.

Maclean -- Rinsola babajide
Chikwelu -- Mbadi or Debora Abiodun
Angelo ogbonna -- Patricia George
Vivian ikechuckwu -- Flourish
Ordega -
We need a proper right back to compete with Alozie
Two young center back
Payne shouldn't play left back or right back again

I still don’t understand why many of y’all are shooting robbery upandan as if it’s not the same match you’re talking about. Those two red cards, however painful, were deserved! Those tackles are leg breaking and aren’t easy to stomach esp on slo-mo replays.

If it was Morocco that made those tackles, would you be here screaming foul? Wouldn’t you be praising the ref for a good performance?

Let’s talk the L and commend the girls for their valiant performances. They fought hard but it just wasn’t meant to be. I’m sure everyone here didn’t even think it was going to penalties, probably 99% thought it would be lost in regular time but they showed strength and experience so let’s look forward to the next one.

Well he took a record low amount of league players to the tournament. I have been saying this but people want to make it homebase vs foreign. If Chikwelu didn't get hurt against Botswana we probably don't make it to the world cup because he would have kept leaving Christy on the bench. How can anyone watch our Falconets and decide not to take even one of them to this tournament.

I also don't think we need more attackers. Oparanozie is still part of the squad. Only defenders and the midfield.

I don't even want the squad to be tweaked much. Maybe one or two players from the youth team and two three players who might have missed the tournament.
