I estimated based on my snap shots at middle of Jul and today for GTCO. Genesis Emerging seem to to have GTCO in three funds in Jul and by August 2nd had only in two funds with about 200m units gone. If you look at sum of total shares held by funds, it shows GTCO also dropped by about this amount of units held by all the funds. From about 1.75b to 1.55b units. One with full access will have more clues. But this is fair enough for me to understand why so much trade in GTCO compared to Zenith in the month of July.

Please what website is this snapshot?

Should I sell off my shares in Multiverse?
As for McNichols, 3rd August was supposed to be payment date. Whosoever has received should pls post here.
As for bonus, that would be later later when they receive approval from SEC. Once it's approved, it will reflect in your CSCS statement.

With the bargains on ground last week, you should have sold @2. Sell to key in to another stock. The coy doesn't seems serious to me.

Please explain the highlighted part. I was thinking the bonus shares would be added to the portfolio to increase the number of shares.

It will still be added but it won't be immediate like that.
The bonus will still need approval from SEC, after then it will be added to your CSCS, then you can contact your broker to add it to your trading portfolio.

Very commendable!
So also Custodian.
There are some stocks that are just stocks to be. If they dip and there's money, na to just keep buying more.......
We should however commend all dividend paying companies irrespective; despite the unfriendly economic environment, ability to make profit and declare Dividend should be commended. smiley

Dividend is a scam. Dividend is a trap. Avoid it if you can.

Whats up with totalenergies? Good(though flat) result but no interim dividend yet.

Their interim dividend is likely Q3. So also NB & Nestle.....and Seplat.

It may be due to: itchy fingers, fear, insider info (which may sometimes be read upside-down), current market situation brought about by MPR increase or whatever is pursuing the sellers.

My take, keep eye on it. I think below 5 is a good bargain if not inside the bus yet. If you're, exercise patience.

AGM is coming up on 11th August, one of the special biz to be discussed is Unissued Share Capital, not saying there'll be bonus issue oooo, but it's an option to be considered too.......the Unissued Shares may be cancelled, final decision is with the board.

Las las, na to wait and see the result before we go judge am. smiley
Mcy, what could be the effect of each of the options to be deliberated on during the AGM as regards the unissued shares.

I may not know how to explain the technicalities of it. But take my advice. Always sell before QD. Then buy again when the stock bottoms out. Dividend is a scam. And a trap to keep you in the stock from cycle to cycle.

There is some sense in this but there are some stocks that run away from you just when you are expecting a dip. If that happens, you find that you lose you position in that stock.

Whatever that goes up and does not come down is no longer a stock. Maybe it has become a landed property. Patience is key. Give it time. It will always come down.

Lol. Long termers and also Dividend lovers may not totally agree with you on this.
If I may ask, since when have you started investing?

** Anyway, you see this dividend issue, from my Newbie's perspective and what I've learnt, it highly depends on availability of fund/cash flow, the type of investor you chooses to be and the strategy you employ in dealing with such situation.
** Market situation is also a determinant.
** One thing I've noticed that's common with majority investors is impatience and fear. We want everything moving quick quick, doesn't work like that most of the time.

1. Long/medium termers don't enter market or stocks anyhow........they carry out their Due Diligence on particular stock (or pick due to reliable recommendation and wait patiently for the dip before jumping on the bus.
See Nahco for instance, some loaded it at around N2/2.50. Do you think those ones will agree with you that Dividend is scam even after markdown for bonus and Dividend?

2. For short termers, if you have enough fund you can buy within short period, qualify for Dividend and dispose off the stock within short period. How?? By averaging down when it bottoms after markdown and sell shortly. Nahco still a case study. smiley

3. Note that some stocks are seasonal, if you buy these ones, you'll need a drug load of patience to wait for it..... they're not very liquid but can deliver with right entry and patience.
McNichols for instance required spare fund and enough patience to wait for it. Some people picked @60k+ and later sold @2+.

The epistle still get different dimensions but make I stop here.
E get one illiquid penny stock wey I don dey folow for quite sometimes self, the recent sell off sent it below N1, but due to its seasonal nature, I cannot mention it.

**NB: Anyone that tells you he/she hasn't lose in this biz is not telling you the truth, even the so called experts. Only try to learn from it and be learning**

No effect as such.......but if the option is bonus issue, the announcement could increase investors appetite for the stock and lead to price appreciation.

Not really keen about right issues.....most times self, price on the floor will be cheaper than right issue price, so to me, it's always better to pick on the floor......but needs to pick at very good bargain.
Do your DD.

If you sold Vitafoam when it moved from ca. #4 to 8, then waiting for it to dip, you won't be recommending this advice.

Not a good strategy, you might be forced to sell your Investments at a loss in a down market when you need funds for an emergency

Last year, I lost my phone, before I got home to call my bank, my accounts had all been wiped out. Two weeks ago my cousin was kidnapped, first thing they did was to clear his account. Recall the recently kidnapped actors, account was cleared before anything. Not to talk of fraudsters.
I have some investments that can easily be liquidated (including my investment in US $) that has often come in handy.
Here in the south east(imo where I stay) its never advised to keep huge cash. Its just too risky.
Steady rental, work place, dividend and other incomes have always kept us going.

Smart investors have their emergency reserves invested in Money Market Funds that can be converted to cash in less than 24 hours.

Current rates on Money Market Funds are now close to 10% per annum.

Can you enlighten me on this please? For days now, Presco has been staying at #142 offer without a single bid. I've tried several times to by below 142 and ngx has been turning down my bid, saying i cant bid below #142 ; in a situation where there is 0 bid! I don't understand.

On the Nigerian exchange floor, the lowest amount you can buy a stock is 10% less of its last closing price. Additionally, the highest amount you can sell a stock is 10% more of its last closing price. Hence, currently, you can't buy PRESCO less than N142.60

In the case of PRESCO:
Current price is 158.40;
Minimum cost price is 142.60 per unit;
Maximum selling price is 174.30 per unit.
