In addition to what these experienced men, RuggedFighter and CaptMaxino have said, the following are my humble submissions, as it seems you're not aware of some things that occur in the background before you eventually see a seemingly innocent admission list.

Well, your chances are 50:50, Prepare for both.

With your score, you're walking on a tight rope.

Many times as I have observed, Uncles or Aunties collecting your documents and all is for them also to try their luck, it may work, it may not work, they can even stick your documents in a drawer and forget about it.

There are literal levels to the strength of connections (2G, 3G, E, H, H+, 4G, 5G), this is analogous to the fact that there are levels to having "legs" or "Mouth" as regards admission process.

In some cases, people influencing just have to make a call and forward the documents that's all. For others, they have to visit the place by themselves several times to lobby. For some, a thick brown envelope would do the trick. Yet, in some places you have to do well and also be the biological child of the staff forwarding your details. Where some people would be told there's no more space, someone else has three slots.

Similarly, you can't expect the request of a lecturer who has only a PhD to be prioritized over that of a Professor who has been HOD two times, Deputy Provost and is now the current Provost. As regards influence, some Professors have more clout than even the Vice Chancellor.

So my dear brother it's not as simple as just forwarding your documents. As I said earlier, prepare for the two eventualities.

I hope it all turns out well, eventually.
Thanks for your time. But do I still stand a chance of getting admitted even if it is a little chance. The admission quota for medicine and surgery in ebsu is 110 and their cut off mark is 250. Do I still stand a chance with my 263

Your aunt is an HOD of a Dept in the sch u applied and instead of you to be bombing her with text messages and calls u're here misbehaving.

This 263 can get u admission in visually 90% of the state universities in Nigeria and about 85% of the university in both the northern and eastern part of this country.

Crossing of department is not for light-hearted people. You need to pull some huge strings before u can be considered. Even with your high CGPA.

If you're friends with anybody in the admission office then Yes.

I'm speaking with facts I'm not one of those people who believe heaven will help them while they are not even putting any efforts to help themselves.

Ok, let me break it down for u.....

Here in unilorin, we do anatomy, physiology and biochemistry, with a bit of epidemiology, behavioural sciences, microbiology and a WHO program called COBES in 200L and 300L, pharmacology is introduced in 300L, there we write our 1st professional MBBS...

In 400L we do pathology and pharmacology. Pathology is made of anatomic pathology, chemical pathology, microbiology and haematology.... Then we do our junior medical and surgical postings (M1 and S1), then we write our part 1 final MBBS

In 500L, we do two postings of paediatrics and obstetrics and gynaecology each, with another surgical posting (S2) and community health, with 4weeks of COBES, then we write our part 2 final MBBS

In 600L, we do our special postings in anaesthesiology, radiology, ophthalmology and otorhinolaryngology... with M2, then our final M3, S3 and psycho postings,
Pls,sir. Is crossing from physiology to pharmacy possible in UI or has it changed?

It's better you search for someone already in UNIBADAN to ask your questions.

Thanks for your time, I have already called her, and she had me send her all my credentials. You said I can get medicine and surgery with that score, and some blessed people here said otherwise. Thanks once again, God bless you.

i am actually on the same shoes as you are now bro but my institution of choice is UNIZIK, as a matter of fact; the truth is, it is absolutely possible with a very strong connection and doing the right thing as well.

Admission is now regulated with JAMB CAPS, even if your father owns the school, if you don't meet the cutoff for your department and the school sends your name to Jamb caps, it will be rejected. The only thing your aunt can do is to influence the cutoff to accommodate your score, which is very unlikely depending on general performance.
Chief, pertaining to influencing the cut off marks to accommodate someones score or chances of getting admitted. Boss, how is it done and who is responsible in doing so if any.

You can get Physiology, just do better at the post UTME.

As regards crossing: https://www.nairaland.com/1049407/medical-students-aspirants-thread/594

Ask around if the information I gave somewhere on the page that the link above leads to still remains consistent at this time.

Hello docs, I just concluded a national diploma program in Pharmaceutical Technology (with distinction though, 3.55/4.00). I plan on applying for biochemistry in UNILAG next year via DE into 200L. Please what chance do I have?
NB: ND in pharm tech isn't accepted into 200L pharmacy which is why I'm considering biochemistry.

Brother, in my institution of choice, UNIZIK to be precise; crossing over from human physiology department to medicine and surgery, does it require borrowing of courses either in 100level (where the crossing is done most times through connection) or 200level where the switching takes place officially ?

Where's the logic in doing ND, Pharm Tech and then going on to do Biochemistry?

It's advisable for you to either write the UTME and apply for Pharmacy or you go on to do your HND in Pharm Tech.

Both options are better than doing Biochemistry as far as Nigeria is concerned.

My 2Cents.

Considering the competitiveness in pharmacy, is pharmacology a good idea?
