Hello , thank you for your response , i have been tracking the passport and it keeps showing that passport is in Lagos , i have also called DHL and was told that the passport is still with VFS.. I paid for 2way delivery , but can my sister in Lagos go pick up my Passport for me? Cause i really dont understand this delay , its exactly 2weeks today and my flight is next week, i also need to upload the stamped page to my school to get an enrollment letter. Someone please help ooooo , I'm so worried right now

bullstriker:
If the counterfoil info and introduction letter are now available in the portal, they have placed the counterfoil on your passport. So, there is nothing to worry about as sometimes Lagos VFS takes 10-14days to deliver. Track the parcel on the DHL website.

I've seen this over and over again -- IRCC taking action after sending emails. What did your email say to them? I want to do the same if it should come down to that.

Congratulations BTW! I hope my time will come soon.

Hi Everyone,

I am here to share my testimonial and also drop the timeline of my SOWP application which I already shared on the Spousal Open Work Permit (SOWP) thread but thought it wise to also come back here to share it as well since it all began here.
It hasn’t been an easy road but God finally completed His work and to Him I return all the glory.
This was my second SOWP visa application as I had put in my first application together with my wife’s first study permit application early 2021 and both applications got refused. We had initially retained the services of a very reputable IRCC registered consultant in Canada and spent so much for this service, so getting a refusal on both applications had taken us off balance. In that confusion and desperation for a quick solution, I had gotten online and discovered this Study Permit thread on Nairaland which I thoroughly read through for weeks and kept coming across a particular name with people singing his praises and how he helped transform their cases and refusals to approvals through his detailed touch “Frankrobb”, I took a leap of faith and reached out to him and I must confess, that was one of the greatest decisions I ever made. After consulting with him, we agreed my wife applied alone for her second study permit application and when she gets the visa and arrives Canada, I apply for my SOWP to join her which we did and here we are, all visas finally approved to the praises, glory and thanks to God almighty. I want to also use this medium to appreciate Mr Frank for his hard work and also being a blessing to my family’s application success, your cup will never run dry, men will favour you and come to your aid before you ask. Amen.

My timeline:

Application submitted on 9th May, 2022.

Biometric was from previous application and was updated on 11th May, 2022.

Did upfront medicals on 5th May, 2022 that was submitted with my application documents.

Medicals didn’t update until July 15th when I decided to disturb IRCC Nairobi and Abuja in July through emails and webforms.

PPR on yesterday, 29th August, 2022.

Documents submitted:

The basic IRCC forms from their website,
My SOP, My bank statement, Bank reference letter, Employment Appointment letters, My Bachelors and Masters Degree Certificates, Marriage certificate, Newspaper publication for wife’s change of name, Sworn Affidavit of wife’s name change, Trad and White wedding Pictures, family pictures with parents and siblings, COVID vaccination card, National ID Card, Upfront Medical Sheet, Old and new International Passport Biodata pages, Police Certificates (Nigeria and UK), NYSC Certificate, Passport Photo, WES Assessment, SSCE Certificate, Landed property documents, Car documents, Professional Certifications, Leave letter, Work ID card, Payslips for 6months, CV, Work Promotion letter, Birth certificate, past visa pages and stamps on my passport, wife’s study visa, wife’s study permit, wife’s admission letter, wife’s school ID card, wife’s enrollment letter, wife’s letters of Authorization and Invitation, wife’s passport bio data page, wife’s social insurance number(SIN) document, wife’s full tuition payment receipt.

I wish everyone here God’s favour and good luck and I do hope that this post encourages and gives fresh hope to someone on this journey because with God all things are possible.
Thanks all. Blessings

I had informed them in the emails and webforms that I had submitted an upfront medical result with my application which hadn’t been updated on my application portal for months and kindly requested they did so.

I don’t think VFS allows in-person pickup. Please give a call to the VFS Lagos office. Also, go in person to the DHL office you submitted it and ask them to provide you with the phone of the DHL branch in Lagos that is supposed to pick up the parcel from VFS, then continue to pester both DHL branches to get in contact with Lagos VFS. Your sister can go to the Lagos DHL in person.

Don’t let them rest until they pick it up.

Hi , Today made it 2 weeks since I joined this Thread And so far it's been Awesome , I have been able to learn about things that I didn't know before , I want to say a big Thank you to everyone. Your Questions and Answers , contributions and everything .

That being said , I'm still on the Journey to getting information and getting ready , It's a D.I.Y thing for me .

Please ,

1.Can anyone be kind enough to help with a sample of Statement of Purpose And CV , I'm going to go through them and use them as a guide while I prepare mine. Here is my email (agbonifokelly@gmail.com)

2. How will I be able to pay for my Application fees ? I understand our Naira Debit card doesn't work ?

3. I have a Joint and a Fixed Deposit Account ( They're together) With my Father , Inside the account contains all the money I need to show for POF , pay for my Full year tuition fee and etc .

The fixed Deposit contract with the Bank expires later in February 2023 , After February I'll then be able to have 100 Percent acess to the fund. I'm rooting to be part of the intake for the fall Entry of 2023.

I understand I can't use the Fixed Deposit Account for my student visa Application but I have a Question. When the contracts Expires in February 2023 , Can I push the money Into my own Personal Account , Then use the money as POF . I UNDERSTAND it will pop up as Lump-sum , but can I use the LOE to Explain How come the Lump-sum ? (This should include where the money came from by providing F.D documents to show that all these time the money has been in a fixed deposit Account that I opened with my Father )

Or Simply,

When it expires in February 2023 , Should I just remove my Dad's name from the Account , Then show document to proof that my Dad doesn't have access to the account Anymore.

N.B → I'm a fresh Graduate with No work experience

Please I'll really Appreciate the Response

@makano @frankrobnn @lekiboboe @bullstriker @gigdraft @justmellow @ketima @technix and All

Hello KellyTech007,

It seems you already have everything figured out. Nice one. There is no need to remove your father's name as a signatory to the account. Leave it be.

As a recent graduate, having your father as a sponsor in your application gives convincing assurance to the officer that funds will be readily available given the presence of his historic income source(s).

Owing that you and your dad are authorized signatories to the account, he can be the sole sponsor (preferably) or be a cosponsor of the study with you. Get a domiciliary card to initiate the application fee payment.

In anything you do, tie your economic prospect to your father's income source(s) and try to establish the fact that being a board member and intrapreneur in your father's organization paved way for you to become an authorized signatory and investment partner.

The fixing and liquidation certificates coupled with an LOE are enough justification to help the officer trace the history of the funds into the account to be used for the application.

Success is all I wish You!

Hello Sanyaa

I will advise you to get married to her before you get your Visa or better still before leaving Nigeria for Canada (If you have the recourses to make this happen in a short time though)..

Once you have done the court wedding, then all is set. Just make sure you take enough pix together and also with both parents. Also, your Marriage certificate will be very important in your application.

You can apply for a Spousal Visa permit for her before leaving the country, that is if your resumption date is still a little ahead(like 4 months or more) and you both can travel together or you get to Canada and apply for a Spousal permit for her when you get your SIN and Study permit..

Go with which ever works for you..

Peace
Sanyaa:
I expect to get my student visa soonest, but I will like to apply for my girlfriend under the common law, is this still possible? I heard it's late already but don't know how true, do I have to get the ppr first? If yes, can it be applied for when I arrive in canada? or it is something that should have been done before submitting the application. @makano @showyoung @lekiboboe and anyone who could kindly shed light, Thanks
