It doesn't matter if it is cable or cord, long or short distance. Every current will encounter higher resistance as electricity flows from one end of the wire to another. That resistance results to a drop of voltage which translate to a loss of energy.

So yes, the length of the cable have an effect on the charging speed, although, the effect is not significant.
