Good evening everyone,
Your kind advice is needed, my school suppose to resume Sept 6th 2022,but has been extended to Sept 14th 2022 and I'm still yet to get any response / update on my visa application, submission date is July 27tb, the school contacted me to send them the date I applied which I did. And extend my opportunity till Oct 1st 2022 or I had to reapply against 2023 session,
My concern now
I haven't gotten any updates neither from the school or visa office.

Question is, is there a way I can contact visa office for updates? And is there any watsapp group I can join for sharing such information?
Kindly advise.

Thank you

Let me start by appreciating everybody here.

This is my 3rd application. Actually, I did not know today is my day of testimony or this application will be approved. I even started my master's in Nigeria already because I have lost every hope after 2 denials.

School: University of Canada West
Course: Master of Business Administration

Documents Submitted

1. admission letter
2. tuition receipt
4. my family picture
5. my picture in usa, uk, finland, and south africa
6. my passport and visa stamp pages
7. statment of purpose and letter of explanation detailing what has changed, which was written perfectly written by @Sopwriter
8. my father's company cac
9. his personal soa (both savings and current)
10. company 1 soa
11. company 2 soa
12. Introduction letter from one my father's company saying I have been working for the family business since I competed my bsc
13. my awards and certificates
14. my cv
15. my police cert

Let me add this, I did not submit my soa bcuz it is just school fee and upkeep allowance from my father that enters it so there is nothing hefty in my account so I was told not to submit it

I dedicate this approval to God almighty and my family. Appreciation also goes to @Sopwriter. This man really helped me with advices. He called me with his airtime and guided me from A to Z.

To other hopefuls, please don't give up because that last try may be where the testimony is. I started my master's in Nigeria already and today I am rejoicing

May other hopefuls testify.
Congrat. How much in total did you show?

Hello everyone…
It’s been a while. I’ve been absent for some time.

School and having to work has been a roller coaster but I wouldn’t have it any other way..

Recently changed schools and program this fall from the school I came in with from Nigeria in March.

I’ll try as much as possible to be present here and share my little knowledge with anyone available..

Wishing everyone else that have applied and planned to apply a successful application.

Please, what is the process of changing school like you did?

Hello.
Just apply for a new school and once you get the admission notify IRCC on your account

But take note . You have just 150 days from the day you decide to change school to resume.

So the way I did it. I did registration for the school I came in with. Unfortunately/fortunately I couldn’t resume cz my sister got sick here and she has a baby so I deferred the previous admission till fall. And I started applying to another school. When I got the admission I just updated IRCC on my portal about DLI change.

The normal process is for you to even start the first school. Maybe for a few weeks before you change but I had a valid reason for o starting.

What about the tuition you paid in the first school? Did they refund or it has gone forever?

Good evening guy's.

Trust you are doing well.

Please I hv got some questions to ask.

I initially applied for *Administrative Professional* but I was waitlisted so I had to apply for another available course which was *Client Services and Sales* and that was what i used in applying for my study visa. At that point in time, i submitted a form on the school portal which allows me to be specific about my preferred course *Administrative Professional*

Note: I got an email from the school today stating that the Administrative Professional course that was my preferred course is available, however, I was asked to acknowledge my interest before 17th of this month September.

Question 1:
if I acknowledge the course will it affect or delay my application with IRCC

Question 2:
Is it possible to raise a webform to IRCC stating that my course had changed upon my arrival in Canada.

Question 3:
Should I wait till I am willing to extend my study visa before informing IRCC

Question 4:

Should I accept the course and raise a webform to inform IRCC before my visa approval.

I would appreciate your response as I would not want to do what will delay or jeopardise my study visa.

Thank you

wow Beejay! Good to read from you after a long radio silence, trust you've been well and achieving all you want to achieve?
thanks for the best wishes, we will testify soon!

So you changed school and course after one semester? May I know your reasons for changing?
Were you refunded part of your tuition since you didn't complete the academic year? Did you change DLI?
Missed you on this space

Hello.
Thank you for reaching out

I changed schools because I wanted another program. I didn’t even attend class for a day in the other school or pay. I deferred the admission to start for September to give me time to apply for other programs. I only paid deposit that I paid before I left Nigeria.
I always knew that was non refundable so it was a sacrifice to get me what I wanted.

Hello All,

I’m a first time user and I appreciate this platform a lot. I’m very early in my process to applying for school in Canada and I have a question that I’d appreciate guidance with.

I have a first class in architecture but I no longer want to practice. I want to change industry as I don’t enjoy practicing Architecture (25yrs with 3 years work experience NYSC included). I’m interested in management (project, product and business) but the costs of an MBA are too much for me. I then decided to go for a graduate certificate in project management. But I’m told that it might seem suspicious to the visa officers because I have a good first degree result.

How May it affect me if I apply for the graduate certificate program as cost is a big consideration for me but I don’t want to ruin my chances during the visa application ?

Oh wow..lucky you

Pls can anyone give a thorough explanation of this works?

How can one change program? Can one change program in the same school they got admission?

Do we need to leave Canada to apply for another program ?

Should one just go ahead to ask the school what the process is?

Thank you

Hello
You can change program in the same school. Reach out to your school to know their policy.
Or you can apply to another school entirely

And no. You don’t have to leave canada to change schools as long as your study permit is still valid.

Just apply to the school and once you get admission. Notify Ircc. Don’t forgo your initial admission unless you’re sure of the new one

LANDING GIST:

Hi, everyone! I traveled to Montréal yesterday from the Lagos Airport. My trip was a fairly pleasant experience because my mom has a work colleague at the airport and he led me through the entire thing seamlessly.

My ticket had a layover at Istanbul and it was a very dramatic step-up in aviation from MMA. It was easy to navigate their system without requiring any help from anyone. I could pay in dollars and anywhere I turned, a huge screen with precise information reminded people when and where to be for their flights.

The flight to Montréal was uncomfortable because I'd never flown longer than 6 hours at a time before now. This was like 11 hours. Also, airplane food is kinda gross. I'd recommend taking snacks in your carry-on to anyone traveling here.

On getting to Montréal, I went to the Port of Entry where I got my study permit and the guy who spoke to me was really nice. I was prepared for all sorts of questions about my intent and whatnot but he just asked my school, my major and made some jokes. Then he let me in.

My father and his sister were waiting for me at the arrival section and everything else that's happened has felt like a dream. His sister drove us to our apartment and I remember looking out the window and just realizing that I was in a completely different ecosystem. I didn't recognize any buildings, people, animals. Even the people in the car I was with. I mean I'm literally getting adopted into a new family.

It is a theatrical change from my years in Nigeria and one I definitely wish for whoever desires it. I'm reportedly lucky to be here this time of the year because it's not cold. Just chilly. I've been outside with regular clothes and it's pretty fine.

I don't start classes till Winter or Summer - still deciding cause I deferred for a year when my visa application lingered - so I'm excited to spend the next few months exploring all the resources at my disposal. I'm so grateful for all the information I've picked up from this forum. Thanks everyone!

NB: Does anyone know how I can go about getting a new passport for myself here? I was advised to do that by immigration because it expires next year. Also, how long does it take? I've heard there's a place in Ottawa, can anyone confirm this?

Don't you have to apply for a new study permit when you change shool/DLI?

If your application for a study permit has been approved and you change your DLI, you must submit a new study permit application with a new letter of acceptance. You must also pay all the fees for the new application.

There are different sides to this. They're trying to avoid situations where international students cost them more than they get in tuition fees, etc.

I don't blame them.
