You can't book at the embassy because those security men at the gate are very corrupt without manners..they might want to introduce you to an agent outside the embassy that would charge you high and still follow the same process you are avoiding. Try again and book an appointment for yourself. The Yoruba man inside the embassy na another yeye man. The man no get mercy oooo

Anyone here who applied for Brazilian permanent residency especially based on a Brazilian child or spouse?

If yes, did you have to notarize/legalize your police character certificate in the Brazilian consulate here in Nigeria as well to use for your application in Brazil?

1. Having realised that the University of Sao Paulo is one of the top universities in the world, I developed interest in it.

2. I sent cold emails to the Graduate Program and the professors.

3. The Graduate Program sent me all the details I needed for my application and when the application would be opened (the next one for Master's or PhD in Physics Applied to Medicine and Biology would be opened in April).

3. The professors had interest in me, but I preferred a particular professor so, I went for him. We started working on my research proposal. I read my head out. I was also preparing for the entrance exam without which one cannot move to the next stage.

There were two stages:

Stage 1: Entrance exam.

I was asked to provide the details of a Professor here in Nigeria who would receive my questions. I sent them. They sent the professor on the day of the exam. The exam contained 12 questions. We were asked to answer five. It was set in the area of Biochemistry, Mathematics/Computer programming and Physics. Each question contained 2 marks. Making 10 marks in all. In this exam, candidates must score at least 6 to move to the next stage. I SCORED the minimum point required: 6.

Stage 2: Interview, CV assessment, undergraduate transcript assessment and project proposal assessment.

I think this was where I won their hearts. I blew the Interview. I had taken control of my proposal and so could talk confidently about it.

Just later that day after the interview, I was emailed to have been accepted for a Doctorate degree program in Physics Applied to Medicine and Biology with full scholarship.

PS: I only hold a BSc in Physics and it is second class lower.

God did!

Congratulations! Regarding booking your flight, try to avoid two-stops (stick to one-stop for convenience and covid protocols) via countries where you would have to apply for transit visa. On that note, target Middle Eastern airlines such as Qatar Airways or Emirates.

See what happens when Nigerians ply routes that require transit visas: https://twitter.com/McCartney000/status/1570287060761837568?t=yiR-noRKu6XWDaOIDIqVRA&s=19

P.S. To search for available flights, use Google flights and Skyscanner.

Can I book for flight ahead to save cost? I used to do that but I really want to know if it still works now.

Thanks

If you have been issued the visa, yes, book immediately. If yet to be issued the visa, you have to wait until then. Check for your most preferred flight and book yourself or via an agent who must do as you want.

Get your police characters when coming and try to legalised it from ministry of foreign affairs in abuja ...when you arrived here after the birth of the baby to get your documents done in brazil....you will have to submit that police characters to Nigeria embassy in Brazilian here ...for authentication and if brought your kids from 9ja....you will need to get your birth certificate here in brazil again .Consulate letter .......

Please come alone with passport photograph like 10 copies ooh to avoid spending money here again

Good luck ooh..May God Almighty bless us so we can all achieve our aim in brazil

1. Yes, I know a few people. I thought the age limit was 10 years but someone here said 12/13 so I’m not so sure. The child must be enrolled in a school in Brazil, the process is relatively fast if you have all the requirements. You can check the Brazilian govt website for more details.

2. It’s not easy to get a Nanny here due to language barrier and most Nigerians are not willing due to bad past experience, however, you may be lucky to find one. If you want to bring someone from Nigeria, you can apply for tourist visa. They can only stay for a maximum of 180 days and won’t be entitled to permanent residency except they are grandparents or siblings of the Brazilian child.

3. Private hospitals range from R$17,000 to R$22,000. You pay obstetrician seperately between R$3000 to R$5000. Públic Hospitals are free. Same level of professionalism but private hospitals are generally more conducive. Black market rate is R$135/140 to 1 naira, USD 5.1 to 1 reas. It changes from time to time

4. Accommodation is generally not cheap in São Paulo especially for short stays. If you’re looking for something decent, your budget is USD$1000 upwards per month for an entire apartment. You might get lower but I doubt considering it’s summer soon. Nice and safe residential areas include Vila Mariana, Vila Olympia, Itaim Bibi Brooklin, Jardins, Pinheiros, Morumbi. Morumbi is home to popular private hospitals.
You might get cheaper accommodation (probably) in places at Centro, like Republica, Bela Vista, Consolação, Se etc but you may not like the sight of homeless people on the streets. Check Airbnb for options

5. I don’t know any.

Thank you so much for the detailed information, I'll be sure to reference them soon. Stay blessed

Hello dude the kids you brought from 9Ja will get the permanent resident permit 9/10yrs same day their parent submit dia application to the federal....while its will take just 4/6 month to get dos kids Brazilian international passport if they are not upto 11yrs ...but if they are above 11yrs....dat means they wil get it after they can speak and understand Portuguese language...
The both parent can get permanent resident permit when ever they submit dia new born baby documents....while it's take the both parents to get brazilian international passport after 1 year and they must be able to speak and understand Portuguese..

Becus they will be called for interview before they can be granted Brazilian passport

Thanks Pharm, do you know anyone who got their foreign born kids a Brazilian passport within that range of time? What are the things they did to be able to get the passport fast? I will appreciate if you can provide more details.

I see Brazil is for only people giving birth i was thinking I can go there to start a new life any advice

Not everyone is in Brazil to give birth, some just prefer to get value for their money and you can get that in Brazil.

If you are a remote worker in Naija and you're getting frustrated by the services you get from PHCN, Internet services providers, air and noise pollution or plenty billings and police harassment then I can suggest living in Brazil as a alternate because you can get 24hrs electricity, fast speed internet, fresh unpolluted air, low noise environment and Police that mind their business at close to what it cost you in Nigeria. There is even more to benefit that you would only realize when you are here in Brazil.

Brazil is a model of a working Nigeria (You see how naija could have been if our government weren't thieves). Seeing how trains ease transportation or how your can use the fast moving BRTs that are always on schedule.

If you're not looking for quick money to build "mansion" so that your people would see that you have a big god, that you've arrived then you can come to Brazil and you will enjoy and appreciate these little things.

So you can come to Brazil and start a new life if that is what is on your mind. Just know that you might not earn big like living in the US but you will earn enough to live fine and know that the Brazil government care about you, your good health and welfare.
