alright, according to google the united state is well known for its history, its film industry, its music industry and its dozens of unique and historic monuments but as a migrant there is not a much reason to migrate there to seek a career especially as a science oriented students, you could see they are famous there for the art/commercial courses.

Keep posting and ignore trolls. It delights them to get attention from you. You can see how happy the other one was to get your attention.

Sometimes, someone says something just as bait to draw you out. There is something that person wants to say, and they won't be able to say it unless you retaliate or react to their provocative words. They already wish to insult and discredit you, but your answer or retort is the key. Don't give them that chance.

I personally feel that this person is against / jealous of you and wanted a chance not only to discredit your experience, but to make you feel like trash. So he was very happy when you replied and he was able to thrust those words at you.

Yes, I came back briefly for the individuals that do appreciate my content. wink

I went to Mexico City (surprised my mom with a mother/daughter vacay) in August which is on the same fault line curve/bend. I mention this for one reason, I personally can’t live my life in fear. If it’s my time, I can affirm confidently that I lived a great life and made my parents proud!

Peace and blessings friend!
Hi there @Mstravelindiva, we made it to the NL front page again for max views yesterday, just like the
Hawaiian thread! cheesy

Do you remember that I told you on the Bahamas cruise thread about the subtle style of mentioning the mods to view a newsworthy thread and get it moved to the front page? I did that on your San Francisco thread and it worked.

Yeah! @the bolded, I love your "positive spirit" there. For folks like you and I who are over age 40, we tend to reach a point in life where after doing all that we can, we just exhale, and let go. Just like you stated about your Mexico vacay visit with your dear mama, there are forces in nature that are largely beyond us like hurricanes, etc. We can only make forecasts and order folks to leave a location or hide in strong shelters before landfalls occur. If the quake (the big one) happens, then so be it.

Although that has not stopped me from researching into the types of earthquake-resistant building technologies that now exist. grin

Peace and blessings to you too!

I support to a large extent your proposal but 180 days is rather too long. 30 days max will do. Anything extra, request an extension

Another worry is Islamic terrorism. What stops British or French born terrorists flying over to join their delusional pals in the insurgency? Foreigners are active in their midst already so this fear isn't farfetched.

Anyway, your proposal score an A+ despite some downside.

Too short. Nigeria is too poorl to peg just 30 days to citizens of rich countries. The rich boys offer themselves 90 days, so I take it a nudge further by doubling it. Someone else mentioned security which I agree is a significant issue and can be tackled concurrently with easing visa application processes for citizens of wealthy nations.

yes, easier said philosphycally than done pratically. Have you read all the divisive comments between ngerians on this forum? Some people calling the others Agbadorians, Ipob pigs, flat!nos, and afonjas, fulani terrorists, a nation divided are going no where progressively or poisitively. Believe it or not, the problems are not even naigerian politicians, the problem are the naigerian masses. They are not even one, they hate each other.

Nigeria can never become prosperous. No divisive country is prosperous. For a country to be wealthy and developed, there must be a harmonious relationship among racial and/or ethnic groups if they are more than, say, five. Where it is less than five groups (ethnic or racial), the dominant group's culture has to be egalitarian, progressive, enterprising and disciplined.

Nigeria lacks both.

Thank you friend for the helpful tips! Only Abuja on this visit, and yes we have both friends and family that will be meeting up with us in Abuja to help navigate around.

My husband is very protective (especially while in his home, Nigeria) so I will let him do all the negotiations (and hide my American accent)grin.

I actually enjoyed my quick overnight stay in LA, and definitely the Nigerian cuisine help comfort my aggravation of needing to jump through these hoops to obtain my tourist visa!

Peace and blessings my friend!
Mstravelindiva,

That's awesome! You and your spouse have it all figured out. So
Abuja is gonna be lit for you nearly the same way San Francisco was!

The bolded second paragraph about you hiding your American accent cracked me up real hard... Lol grin.

If anybody tries messing up, he or she would have to come correct when your spouse is around [I like your tag-team combination].
Just a quick one, I know you once said your spouse is Ibo... what state is he from originally? Is he from the Ibo-speaking part of Delta State which is on the west of the River Niger, or from one of the core 5 Ibo-speaking states east of the River Niger?

I think it's about time they (Nigeria) made it easy to get official travel docs for American, British, Caribbean women, etc, who are married to Nigerian men and make it easier to naturalize. Just 2 weeks ago, I saw the photographs of newly
naturalized Nigerians on a thread here on NL, and most of them seemed to be Lebanese male and female folks. You can Google the story up.

Nigeria allows dual citizenship though. But when running for the top 4 or so political positions, then having more than 1 nationality, becomes illegal! This applies to the
Nigerian President, Vice President, Senate President, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives.

You forgot to mention
@Mstravelindiva in your post so that she'll easily know the post was meant for her.

You are one of the few creative, mature, and intelligent young females that I've known in my 17 years here on NL, and this is the reason why I'm still following you and your topics on an older moniker of mine that I created in the 2000s. You largely spoke my thoughts about that boy (troll) who tried to derail this San Francisco travel thread.

Last but not least, I'm also certain those two "lovable" teenage boys in your house have been tamed and are no more stressing you out.*smirk*

Stay safe. Enjoy your weekend.wink

P.S.
@Mstravelindiva, the post from
@Purples25 is originally meant for you. She's also based in Abuja, so when you and your spouse come visiting from the U.S., your paths might cross.

If your travel thread and posts were meant to brag or show-off, it would NOT have made the front page. Some trolls are depressed so they take out their frustrations on others. He doesn't even realise that you are not a young gurl, but you are above age 40, and a Company
Executive who just loves to pictorially document her travels for the benefit of all!

Just ignore that boy (from the location in his profile, it shows he is
Ibo) and any derailer next time. Also hit the report button (near the like button) or let the mods on the Travel thread know about the troll. They will send him to "sleep" for derailing and insulting you.

Enjoy your weekend. Ciao.

Absolutely! The ethnic bigotry, hate and tribalism is one of the major problem in naigeria apart from corruptions. The best thing is for the masses to agree that they are one nation, accept each other regardless of tribe and ethnicity otherwise naigeria will stay a stagnant country forever

Bukola Saraki is a British citizen yet was the senate president.

That is false. Besides, I don't believe a Nigerian elite would possess only a Nigerian citizenship.

You are are right about 'Bukola being British by birth. His father,
Oloye Olusola Saraki was studying medicine in England when he was born.

When I was typing all that stuff, my mind immediately flashed to Saraki, Gbajabiamila, and Ahmad Lawan who all have dual citizenships but I didn't want to start typing any further long explanations.

But seriously speaking, the law does not permit dual citizenship for those positions based on the very heated objections that came up when 'Femi Gbajabiamila (who is a
U.S.-trained lawyer and
Nigerian-American) and Ahmed Lawan were to become Speaker and Senate President respectively.

Even 'Dimeji Bankole who was also a Speaker is British-Nigerian and a former officer in the British Army!

Gosh! These guys have truly not been following their own rules. Lol
Most of them have Caribbean passports as backups.

Personally I don't see how having dual citizenship would deter the positive progression of a country if well harnessed like the Chinese are doing by actively creating a robust synergy with their Diaspora populations in America, Canada, and the UK.

All the best.

Okay, so here’s Part 3, of my vacay in San Francisco…we headed north to Napa Valley!

And to show my gratitude for all the love and support NL has shown me, the first 10 people to tag me AND respond to Part 3 I’ll be sending you some airtime.

Peace, blessings and safe travels to you all!

Now back to Part 3.

Here’s a cost saving tip for anyone that loves wine, consider only purchasing one tasting flight and sharing with your significant other at the wineries. It’s half the price and you’ll get to visit (and experience) more wineries during your visit. Napa Valley, CA is not cheap, so this will definitely help cut down some of the wine tasting costs!

Also skip the expensive reserve or upsell wine tasting “experiences”, many are not worth it. Grab a nice bottle of wine, swing by Walmart or Oxbow market and get some gourmet cheeses, jams and crackers, and have a picnic at the lake Hennessy or near the mountains for FREE!

During my stay we visited the following vineyards/wineries:

Ms Travelin Diva Vineyard (I own a small vineyard in Napa)
Bouchaine
Domaine Carneros
Mumms
Chappellet
Robert Sinskey
Maxville
