Thanks for your response. I have another question.
When you wrote to embassy, did they reply your mail. What was their response like? Which email address did you send to? The documents that you have was it just a print out of your evidence of informing the embassy?

I got my visa last year first quarter of last year. Got pregnant this year. So I had to inform the embassy. Hold all the documents you can and be prepared. I was ready to declare especially cos I had come previous complications. But I wasn’t asked anything close to “why are you here or what’s the purpose of your visit”
If you look at my POE questions you will see there was no chance to squeeze it in there.

Hi everyone
1) please can I my baby travel with ETC alone without the American passport ?

2) Those who travelled without american passport during COVID how did they do it please ?

3) How long does ETC take?

4) I’m planning to apply for my baby’s first American passport in Nigeria. Since I don’t have a date for notary for my husband and I cannot stay in the US forever.
Any advice please

P.S: I already applied at the passport agency but they said they cannot move on without the notary from the US embassy in Nigeria. They turned down the one from the high court in Nigeria

1 Yes you can, just make sure you don’t have any layover in Europe as the plane will not board you since your baby doesn’t have a schenghen visa.
This happened to me personally and I was denied boarding, they had to move me to the next day, direct flight from US to Lagos without any layover. Had to find my way to Abj when I got to lag.

3 I think ours took about 2 to 3 weeks, we used the embassy in Atlanta and also used the expedited process. I think it was longer because we forgot to add a return envelope

@All

Appointment booked between October 24th-28 has been cancelled, applicants received a message like this:

Dear Applicant,

The US Embassy in Abuja regrets to inform you that all appointments scheduled between Oct 24- Oct 28 have been canceled. Affected applicants were notified by email and SMS. The Embassy will reach out to affected applicants with further information. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Got this from someone who was affected

Hello everyone ,
Had my baby in Maryland and the hospital bills alone were over 21k, I felt like I was being over charged compared to the estimate I was given. I started off in labor and by the next day I went in for CS… I stayed for 72hrs. Then I came back after two days on account of high BP and was observed for two days. I have been asked to write a letter saying the bills are more than expected and request that some bills be knocked off. I was also asked to fill a form. But when I looked at the form all I was seeing is financial assistance. When I called them, the man was saying it’s an in-house hospital thing to knock bills off. That it’s not financial assistance. I hope this wouldn’t affect my visa application in the future. I don’t want to have any issues … I don’t know what to do. Should I apply? Please I need advice. I just feel my bills are not fair enough compared to the estimate I was given. but he said the bills have been reviewed and the only way to knock off is it write a letter saying it’s over the estimate. But the form is titled financial assistance. Advice please ?

This forum gave us information that helped My wife to deliver our son in September 2015 at Oakbend Medical Center through Dr FAGBONHUN it was a wonderful experience.

Alot of things have changed now, how do we reserve a date for visa interview, she used B1 B2 at the time, can she still use B1B2 or she has to use B2?

Hmmmmmm. I won't advice you to go this route o. It's safer to spread the payment than to get any form of financial assistance. Financial assistance are usually given to their citizens. My 2kobo

Maryland is quite an expensive place to birth in the us
Dont sign for or accept any form of financial assistance. I would advice you tell them that you are paying out of pocket and that they should give you a discount.

Good day everyone, I'd like to ask series of questions as my girlfriend just got pregnant and I know nothing about giving birth in the USA except for information I've read on here.

1: She's three months gone, is it too late or still early to start the visa processing?

2: If she's getting the visa and I want to go with her for the childbirth will I have to apply for a tourist visa or there's a provision for an additional body with her medical visa, note we're not married yet so we have different last names on our passports.

3: If she eventually gets the visa when is the latest time she can leave for the USA to birth there cos I don't know the latest month a pregnant woman can be allowed to fly.

4: After childbirth when is the earliest time she can come back to Nigeria with the baby.
