Many thanks.

I've actually done upfront medicals and uploaded same with the application. I just want to confirm if that remark ( You do not need a medical exam. We will send you a message if this changes.) is normal at the initial application stage.

Yes it is normal, when they receive your medical exam results, they will update your portal as medical exam passed.

Good luck.

Quick question house.

When Canadian embassy request for passport? Is it either Kenya or south Africa? They no longer stamp in their Nigerian office?

Just inquiring on behalf of a friend.

Congratulations
Mine is next in Jesus name

Is PPR,
I have been a silent reader and it won’t be nice if I fail to share this great joy with my Nairaland family .

Timeline ;

I will say I’m a third time applicant though first was a visiting visa around 2018 and I was denied based on financial status and assets.

Second application which is for study and that was when i got to know about Nairaland Travel section and I messaged @Anon123 and asked him to guide me through with my application . Then we submitted on 5th of April 2022 after two month, 8th June hot breakfast was served and we applied for gcms immediately and it came out around 29th of July :

Refusal reasons: unexplained lump sums and also the VO stated that the cooperate account statement provided that I did not explain relationship b/w the employee/employer .

What we did different : I paid additional tuition of 9500$ with the previous deposit of 2000$ making it a total sum of 11500$ ,I also went to bank requested for a reference letter stating that am sole signatory to my cooperate and savings account and also added few sales receipts /invoice of my business then we re-fired on 21st of August and PPR dropped on 10th of November.

Documents submitted

1. Letter of acceptance
2. Tuition receipt
3. Marriage certificate
4. Cac certificate
5. My wife’s cac certificate
6. 2 power of attorney of landed documents
7. Property valuation certificate
8. Tenancy agreements from my tenants
9. Sales receipt/invoice from my business
10. Police clearance certificate
11. Cooperate and savings account statement
12. My 2 kids birth certificate
13. Family pictures

I want to specially thank God almighty for making this Canadian dream a reality. I give him all the glory and also i want to thank @Anon123 for pointing me at the right direction and also all the gurus in the house . To the PPR hopefuls keep the faith alive it will surely end in praise . Amen

What is bothering me now is that I can’t find my biometrics receipt anymore though will be doing walk in passport submission since I live in Abuja until I get there this week will find a way out .

Somebody said it is for annual maintenance fee.

Or is it the minimum account opening Balance?

It is for the card and annual maintenance fee. Everything is like $35 but you will.need like $50 in the account so they can remove both.

Please I want to know if it will be advisable for my brother in law who is a citizen in Canada to provide proof of funds for my wife and 3 kids without transferring the money into her account?
Can he sponsor their application?

It's always advisable for a would-be sponsor to make a financial commitment to whomever they're sponsoring.

The pharmacy business alone may not be sufficient. If you guys have assets - lands, buildings etc - you may want to include them. You could also use parents & siblings as home ties. Since your wife is the principal applicant, she should try to come up with a strong reason why you and the kids are accompanying her to Canada. Be as convincing as possible.

All the best!

The IRCC that will send you a PPR (request for your passport) will most likely be the one in Nairobi but your passport will be stamped at the Canadian VAC center in Lagos or Abuja.

Proof of funds not sufficient

Family ties
Nd not think I will return bk

To be fair, I don't think it's necessary to order your GCMS notes. But you may want to order it if you feel it's necessary.

Second, when you're reapplying, DO NOT make use of that agent again. I try to encourage students to do their application themselves. Agents are overrated. There are lots of experts here that you can pique their brains. Also go on YouTube and watch videos on how to write great SOPs and guidelines on how to come up with a water-tight study permit application.

The reasons for your refusal are glaring. You obviously need to improve on the amount of money you presented in the first application. The total cost of tuition for the duration of the program and living expenses for the duration of your stay + miscellaneous expenses should give you a ballpark figure of the amount you need to aim for.

Family ties and the VO not convinced you'll leave Canada after studies are connected. You need to convince the VO you'll leave.

Someone told me something. She said, "always use the phrase "home country" in your SOP as often as you can. It gives the VO the impression that you're keen on returning to Nigeria." It may sound too simplistic but you never know. I tried it and it worked. Mention your parents and siblings. If you have pictures upload them. If you're married, upload your certificate with pictures. Try as much as you can to convince the VO.

Your SOP is your voice. Be as convincing as you can. A well crafted SOP goes a long way.

All the best!

Please explain

Sometimes it's not enough for a sponsor to only come up with an Affidavit of Sponsorship and say they're gonna sponsor you. The VO would want to see the sponsor make payments into your account to convince the VO that your sponsor is actually serious about sponsoring you.

Hope my explanation is okay.

Folks, it's becoming psychologically traumatic seeing the review of my eligibility requirements going to a month now. It actually started running since the 18th of October, 2022. I thought the review takes 2 to 7 days.
Application date was August 1, 2022. This delay is sapping!!!

Please @Johnson , pls I wanna speak to u on phone. I am still having issue filling one particular form IMM5257. After opening it with Adobe and attaching, it returns error message " that the form cannot be attached as PDF or scanned copy". Please check your mail. @all,pls any assistance to resove this will be appreciated.

Don't click the forms from the IRCC site to view them directly with the pdf you downloaded.

Download the pdf forms from IRCC site, go to where you saved them on your PC and click on open with, select Adobe PDF and it will open.

Good luck

Hello mr Cheebu, thanks for your assistance here. I have similar challenge with the lady you mentioned.
I got refused on the 28th of October 2022 (I used an agent, he said I should send a decision letter. Meanwhile, he's been acting somehow; late and brusque reply to my messages, etc), what should I do next?
