Abuja doesn't have any problem, u can live in Nasarawa and still work in Abuja, Majority of people working in Abuja are living in Niger and Nasarawa... But u will have to leave ur house early in order to beat traffic.
is not everybody that will live in maraba nyaya side or gwagwala or zuba to the main town If you calculate the house rent, transport and food stuffs coming from these places I mentioned except maraba and nyaya which is close to town there is nothing to show fort ..it is just like you are working like a machine

My yealy rent is about 22% of my annual income. I live in a 2 bedroom apartment in Alimosho LGA, Lagos. The environment is decent and I look forward to becoming a landlord in the same area. All the other tenants knew somehow that I don't belong among them. Living below your means is possible sometimes but the pressure is high & I wasn't "really comfortable" either. All depends on you & your goals.

Nigeria will humble you..the cheap house you're looking for does not have vacancy in the location where you work, now what do you do? and even the pay for the job can't meet your needs 50%..the system is happening to all of us, that's just the truth.. how many jobs pay over 100k today

Okay, salary 100k house 150k
Job location, Victoria Island.
House location, Sangotedo, Awoyaya.

Transportation 2k daily=52k

House at igbo efon, agungi, osapa, ilasan and chisco 250-300k
Transport N600 =15k

I don't know but please if you pass mathematics in school you can help

150k+52k=202k
300k+15k=315k

Difference 315k-202k=113k

I don't have issues with living in your desired location and giving yourself a befitting life, but if your income cannot take care of it, then look for means of solving more problems to have more income.

Lol, Lagos people are laughing at this financial standard,
People that collect loan apps and ajo, plus esusu to pay rents.
It's either you collect house in Lagos or you live 6 hours away from your work. These standards only works for a very very few.

It is disheartening when a 10 years old house landlord increase rent like he just finished building it yesterday. I feel you OP.
That's one thing I'll forbid when I take over power as a tyrant ruler of this nation.

You can't build house 20 years ago and be increasing rent today, that's pathetic and criminally in nature.

When I become a ruler, no citizen Will own land or build houses.... I will seize All lands and houses,, build more houses and lease it to all citizens for as low as 5k_20k highest yearly rent. If you don't have the 5k or 20k to pay at once as a citizen, there will be 6 months instalmenal payment option.
Every citizen deserves a place to sleep

Your rent should be 10-15% of your yearly income, anything more than that is inviting landlord wrath
