Deltamani:

Yeah both can play together but they’re like for like kind of player…
I wish the So called Randy will play Halimatu Ayinde in her usual Box to Box or Central Midfield, she’s a good passer… Leaving her to cover the Back 4 is kind of limiting her a little as Coach Florence Omagbemi used her as a Central Midfielder, Rita Chikwelu Defensive Midfielder and Okobi as AM…
Apart from what you mentioned here, Ayinde also has eyes for key passes. How do you see a Midfield of Otu-Ucheibe-Ayinde in triangular formation with Otu at the base?
Re: Nigeria Female National Teams' Thread by Deltamani: 11:08pm On Nov 17, 2022
Not really a bad idea having them as trio in the midfield as Ayinde played more as an attacking Midfielder during her U17 days

But you will enjoy Ayinde more as a CM or Box2Box midfielder.. keep Otu on the bench as Substitute for either Ucheibe or Ayinde as they would be double tasking..

An inform Okobi or Tony Payne or Echegini as AM..

One thing for sure is Okobi performs better when Ayinde is behind her in Midfield.. Their Chemistry in the Superfalcons midfield is exceptional…

Case Study, Iffy goal against Botswana Okobi and Ayinde Connection led to that goal..
Against Cameroon Ayinde pass to Okobi also contributed to Ajibade goal…

For me…

Ucheibe — DM
Ayinde — CM/Box2Box
Okobi/Payne/Echegini — AM

Regina Otu should be the alternative for Ucheibe and Ayinde

AkinDS:
With all due respect, she was hardly consistent against quality opposition.
Against Nigeria in the WAFCON match, she wasn't spectacular and when one considers Nigeria was playing with 2 women down, that's somewhat telling.
In the finals against S. Africa, she was pretty ordinary in the game, if I recall.
In the CAFWCL match against Bayelsa, she was pretty much MIA, as she was under lockdown by Glory Edet. In the finals, the SA team was also 2 women down and she shone.

Like I stated earlier, will really see if she justifies the hype in the WWC when she comes up against quality opposition. She does have the POTENTIAL to be an influential player but for now, I chose to adopt a more cautious approach.

The entire Morocco team isn't as good as they're being hyped to be...On a neutral venue, they will be well beaten.. Bayelsa queens had them on their toes for the whole 90 minutes but we're unlucky not to score...

This is the fifth straight season that the Seminoles have advanced to the Elite 8.

Florida State took a quick lead in the second minute after Onyi Echegini, Jody Brown and Beata Olsson connected on a goal just one minute and 17 seconds into the game.
Echegini fired a perfect deep pass to a streaking Brown who was one-on-one with the Pittsburgh goalkeeper.

The keeper knocked the ball away from Brown but Olsson was right there to strike it into the back of the net for her sixth goal of the season. It was FSU’s fifth goal scored in the first two minutes of a game.

The Seminoles started out the second half almost exactly the same way they did the first half. FSU scored one minutes and 18 seconds into the second half.

Pitt attempted to clear the ball from their 18-yard box but the ball landed right at LeiLanni Nesbeth’s feet. From just over 20 yards out, Nesbeth launched a rocket into the right corner of the net.

The lead expanded to three in the 57th minute. Echegini made another fantastic deep pass to Brown who made a few Pitt defenders miss before scoring her eighth goal of the season.

Florida State will play next Saturday, November 26 against either Arkansas or Memphis.

19games this Season
10goals and 6 Assists this season for Onyi

A talented midfielder with good Short passes, Long passes, Through passes.. This babe need more Playing time with the Superfalcons

Onyi Echegini deserves a Spot in the Superfalcons 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in AUS/NZL, She’s having a terrific season with the Seminoles..

Ability to use both feet’s effectively is always an advantage… You don’t need to work your way out trying to bring the ball to your Strongest Foot..

Can Shoot from Distance like KVD of Man City, and can also slot in as a winger..
