Hmmm

My father started his family here in Lagos. Me and my siblings were all raised in Lagos but today none of them stays in Lagos. Not even my parents.

I loved Lagos growing up. I still do, but not as much as I did growing up. I have lived in some other cities (PH, Benin city, Ibadan, Uyo) and visited some other states too.

The traffic and hustling life have always been there, but Lagos used to be one of the most affordable places to live in Southern Nigeria. It's now the most expensive and this is where I agree totally with Dandizzy.

With every passing year I keep thinking I'm making a mistake raising my own family in Lagos. Abuja today seems like the Lagos of old where I was raised. My family should be there while I do my bit in Lagos and visit from time to time.

Stay where you like, people like staying in specific places for various reasons.

In this money driven world, everyone wants to be where the action is. Sound childish of him saying wizkid left Lagos, lol.

Lagos is an overrated dirty slum. No good roads, no drainage, nothing nothing. Very dirty place.

I have stayed in lekki and I can tell you that place is an overrated dirty slum. People living in Lagos are really trying. Those miscreants screaming Tinubu built Lagos have probably never been out of Lagos to sane and dope cities in Nigeria

Chinedu we have seen you.. Biafra next year

Look this guy is so right, forget all this lagos this lagos that, people are poor in this lagos o!

People making it here, are expatriates, and Nigerians earning in dollars, or those their dad left a business and properties for.

People are suffering, you will see a guy using iphone 14 pro max, living in a self contain. Going to iyabasira by the road side to eat.

Most girls here in lagos, it's prostitution they do. A fresh graduate earns 80k for a start. Ontop the very high cost of rent. How do you expect the guy to sustain himself if not through fraud or Betting, how do you expect the girl to feed if not hook up.

What most girls do, grin they will open an Instagram account and tell you they sell, shoes and clothes online. grin, Na lie. Aunty talk true. Na hook up u dey do.

My own experience as a lagosian who have lived in other states in Nigeria:

I don't see any reason why people are taking offenses in what @iDanDizzy said actually. For God sake, the guy is fv cking right. He bestly describe the normal lives of lagosian. I have lived in Lagos all my life, I'm a lagosian, I schooled in ogun state, I schooled in kano, I served in akwa ibom and to be honest, I enjoyed those states far better than Lagos. I feel sad dt lack of Job opportunities made me leave those states to come back to lagos and hustle. If not for money, I rather stay in akwa ibom and live a stress free life than lagos.

You right, its work that make me too to still be in lagos. Imagine 2 to 3 hours in traffic in the morning and another 3 hours in traffic in the evening making a total hour of 5 to 6 from monday to friday. If our leaders has invested in good train network linking all the states i would have preferred to live in any of the stress free state and take a train to come work in this over rated state called Lagos.

I have been in Lagos since 1984. The only thing that took me away from Lagos was NYSC in Benin City Edo state. I enjoyed my stay in Benin. Lagos is over crowded and stressful.

As i am typing this some Nigerians/Togoleses/Ghanians/Bukinabes/Benonoises/Others are on a bus to Lagos with the strong belief that if only they can set foot in Lagos they will make it in life. These are people that have never been to Lagos in their lives. If they can have such a strong belief about Lagos you now want me that was born and bred and still living in Lagos to leave. Leave Lagos for who? I dey mad?

I was born in Lagos, 3rd avenue Festac to be precise. I grew up there thinking Lagos was the best. I served in Akwa Ibom n currently working in Abuja. I swear if you dash me house now in Lagos I will collect and dash someone else. I even prefer Akwa Ibom to Lagos.

Glorified slum

I’ve been in a few states aside Lagos and I can tell you that these states are cleaner ,less stressful and more peaceful than Lagos but the advantage Lagos had is the activities going on there . People that are ambitious wants to stay where they have hope of success.

You can’t sleep in peace in Lagos.. Na so so car horn you go Dey hear... the traffic is one hell... the way people board buses are insane...small rain go fall like this, lagos go Dey flood..Them no born you well to wear white for Lagos, before you reach destination your white don brown finish. I don’t know why they like that Lagos because I Iived there for the early 17 years of my life but I can tell you relocating out of Lagos is one of the best things my family did.

Just exactly the number of years I lived there too... It's my place of birth so I think I know Lagos that much even though I was still very young and did not go out much (no thanks to my dad always grounding me and older sis). Okokomaiko was an eyesore but that's where we lived..

When I moved out, it was initially boring at my new place but I adapted later on..

It was in Abuja that I realised that people can be sane and still live in Nigeria, people can be peaceful fun and all that. You can forget your change and they'll call you back to give you..

I work from home so I love the silence that begins from 10am when outdoor employees and kids may have gone to work/school (I can almost hear myself think)

The standard of living may not be that friendly but the peace of mind is heavenly. I loved myself and Nigeria more when I moved out of Lagos.

My thoughts were aligning properly and my inner self found peace.. Lol

The rest of Nigeria is like a big village, if people from outside Lagos stay in their states, Lagos will not be overcrowded, if the Lagos state government start taking beggars and liabilities out of Lagos, it's you idiots that will shout. Lagos overpopulation is caused by miscreants coming in from other states. Look inwards, vote in credible intelligent people, not stupid thieves that will be dancing and wasting money on launching nonsense.

The most important is Peace of mind...which is not found in lagos to commoners..

Like someone said majority of the opportunities in Nigeria reside in Lagos and thats why we have the over population issue which made Lagos Chaotic, there is simply nothing anybody can do about the chaotic, stress, bad roads etc. Come to Lagos late December or Early January and see how serene the city will be, less traffic and less chaotic because every one had travelled to their home state for the new year celebrations.

Simple reason is concentration of opportunities in Lagos resulting to mass migration to Lagos causing Over Population.

If the Govt and private sector decides they want to divert the investments to other state obviously, people will move out of Lagos and there will be less migration to Lagos.

My course mates and I did our IT in Lagos a few months ago and that was the worst month of my life. The institute we were attached to provided accomodation at Ajah while we commuted to their headquarters at Victoria Island everyday. We had to leave the house at 5am everyday just to beat traffic and guess what? We still end up in mad traffic everyday! There was a day I had breakfast and lunch right in traffic, e come be like say person dey travel to another state. Should we then talk about the quality of water? Let's not even go there. Benin city isn't as developed as Lagos but I still love it here, Lagos is too chaotic abeg. The only good thing there is the opportunities it provides due to the fact that a lot of companies have their headquarters there, it's basically a business hub

Most of the reasons Lagos is too jampack with holdup is the nomba of traffic of people trooping in dicongestimg everywhere, this now make Thier states empty,it also Increase the cost of rent, shops, transport

In terms of jobs availability and exposure..mennn Lagos is miles ahead,. infact Lagos get one kind bad packaging especially when you they intelligent, the best thing to do is to get the work experience and the exposure you can now apply for jobs in other states..infact I know guys and babes that were employed in Akwaibom , delta and PH because of the Lagos factor,..if you see how much this people they earn eehh you go fear..all because he/she is from Lagos..in terms of it's environment lots of work needs to done ...

Bros that's the not problem. The problem is are there good roads in Lagos? No! Are there drainages? No! How about the environment? Very dirty slum! Oga is it not those Tinubu miscreants that said tehifnubu built Lagos? Lagos that is an highly overrated dirty slum.

Go to Abuja, pH, Asaba, Benin City, Enugu, Akwa ibom, Calabar, etc and see good road networks with good drainage system.

Abeg Lagos is too dirty. It is never about the population. Even Kano isn't as dirty as Lagos. So leave the population out of this
you are so stupid! All your people ran away from ther states to Lagos and you called it dirty! Until when Lagos start deporting pigs, Toll gate in every entry to southwest, treat outsiders the way Ghana treats them Lagos will be rated a slum. A lot of people leave Lagos during festive season I just pray most don’t come back! During the civil war Lagos was very neat and all but after those bastards begin pouring in, 20 in a single room

Only Biafra Restoration & total freedom will set them free from that evil & hostage policies. All the Biafrans will return to Biafra the land God created them, from 2023 all must return home. Charity begins in Biafra(home).

Dandizzy, it clear, just keep fingers crossing, we will share this gospel everywhere.
