If you are talking strictly contemporary, then how can you omit the following:

These are the top individuals that will sing that song into your hearts without the help of instruments, studio edits, auto tune, etc.

I'll arrange it in this order...
1. Burnaboy. Please listen to his lyrics...burns boy's lyrics convinces me that truly He's the African giant of afrobeat.
2. Kizzdaniel. Nigga is so good..he barely has a bad song.
3. Fireboydml. Boy is so good too.
4. Rema.
5.jonnydrill.
6. Chike.
7. Phyno
8. Tems.

Magixx just dey start..omalay don drop more hits than the guy..so I'll give up to omalay...I mean how could I forget a guy who's name I share as a nick name at home.
I would have love to include Wizkid...ibuse to love Wizkid back in the days..but this days he's songs barely hit hard...it's always simple lyrics that sounds so dry.... I get e girl for shirts, I get many many girls..this girl, that girl...haba..
The only song I can doff my cap for him is essence...and I keep saying this..had it been Tems wasn't on that song....that song might not have turn out to be what it is today...but regardless..he's still a big name. Just that he's lost that pen game.

He's been in the industry longer than all of your top 5 combined and he's been consistent

Wande coal just ain't getting the recognition he deserves..thanks to don jazzy not letting him to keep putting out songs because mo hits was trying to push Dprince album..and Dr sid. This made the coast clear for wizzy and davido, who emerged and swept away all wande coal fans. The later duo continue to keep dropping singles and albums to hold tight their millions fans before don j finally put out a sophomore album for wande, it seemed too late..cos once naija fans don move on, its usually hard to win them back again. And not when they are being well fed by wizzy and davido.

M2M is the best album by any RnB/pop or afro musician out of Nigeria. You can never skip any song. Wande is a very good writer and composer. He is the reason the mo hits album was an instant hit. His melodious voice in pere, 10 10 and booty call mesmerised the whole country. Wizzy sef had wande as the guy he looked up to.


No one out of Nigeria is more talented than wande. You heard here

Yes but the ability to also play other instruments is not only a sign of dexterity but more musicality and this gives a more creative edge in the true sense. The computer may give its support to enhance things but talent is still talent.

Your voice is a gift from God, playing one or more musical instruments is acquired skill which makes one a complete musician. If you cannot play any musical instrument, you are only just a singer.

If anyone says "knowledge of the instruments" isn't important, such person doesn't know about good songsters and songstresses or musicians because there isn't any great musician in history who doesn't know how to play (at least) one or two instruments.
