Ghostwon821: The pictures do not tell us how the Agbors are either Igbos or Binis. Your words: “love to identify ethnicity with name similarity”. And you claim to be educated? Name similarity is a pointer to affiliation, if you do not know. If your name is Ahmed, there is a possibility that you are from the North, SW, Muslim SS or a Muslim at the worst. Why are Agbors Binis? Why do they bear Igbo names? Where is the relationship in history? Where is the agreement/disagreement in history? Why do the Ika speaking people have Igbo words in their language? Why are the Agbors and Ukwuanis, among the other people who make up Delta north, if they are not recognized as Igbo people? Okowa became the governor of Delta state because it was the turn of the Igbos of Delta state. All Agbor people jubilated. Tell us the origin of the Agbor people. Tell us which language was originally spoken; which was lost and at which point? We all know about the present Obi, his father and his grand father. Educated person tell us about migration. Where did the Agbor people migrate from? How did they get to their present location? If you cannot, then please simply ask those who know to inform you. |

Ghostwon821: Well since the King of Agbors name, Ikechukwu Keagborekuzi, means nothing in Edo language, but had complete meaning in Igbo language, it is safe to say that the king has lost his Edo roots, if he ever had one 1 Like |

The reason I get angry with you guys is because of your lack of equity. I'm a strong believer of equity and I know a just and peaceful society must be based on equity. In real life, i treat everybody thesame whther from my place or not. omonnakoda: |

Re: The Origin Of Agbor And The Obi Of Agbor by DMerciful(m): 6:55pm On Dec 31, 2022 |
Why do you think the major ethnic groups in Nigeria are having so much friction? Its lack of equity, some groups feel they have the advantage of getting more than their fair share. Ofcourse, you can't have peace and harmony in situations where some groups wanna cheat others. I'm far from being an hypocrite omonnakoda: |

This is tiresome, these "Igbo" guys just ignore logic and evidence if it doesn't go their way. It seems I need to repeat my earlier comments since these guys pretend those comments do not exist. |

Which point? The Igbos and Yorubas are the people holding Nigeria down due to their continuous fight for tribal supremacy but an unbiased observer will put more blame on the Yorubas. Yorubas already did 8yrs presidency and 8yrs vice presidency...its equitable to say since its coming to South, it should go to SE. That kind of gesture would bring cooperation among them which ultimately benefits Nigeria. I have always said in my signature that only the cooperation of Igbos and Yorubas can move Nigeria forward omonnakoda: |
Re: The Origin Of Agbor And The Obi Of Agbor by Nobody: 7:26pm On Dec 31, 2022 |
gidgiddy:1) since when are you a specialist in Edo ? Again ! 2) the name of the Grand father of the current Obi of Agbor from whom the current Obi of Agbor's father inherited the throne and passed it on to him is Gbenoba, an unmistakable Edo name. And his picture below shows him in his Benin regalia in 1935. 3) you have denied that Uku has meaning in Igbo while at the same time claiming the Ikechukwu has meaning in Igbo, you are not being consistent. 4) Issele Uku dukedom of Benin kingdom is Ika and it has th name Uku on it, the same as that of the Oba. You are a very dishonest person, you are lying in order to "win" an argument, you don't reall care about the truth. 5) the name of the Oba of Benin in 1915 was Eweka which is the same as Emeka (yet I bet you guys claim Emeka is an Igbo name) 1 Like

DMerciful:Let me genuinely remove you from what I will say next No insult to you. But what you said is extremely stupid. What has that got to do with Agbor First you want to pretend Nigeria started in 1999.It did not The history of Igbo attitude to Yoruba in the first republic is well documented. There is no need reopening wounds So because Obasanjo has been president once Igbo must be once? It cannot rotate 1:1 There is not a statistical basis to talk of inequity after just one presidency There have been 3 elected president s from the North all Fulani.non Hausa or Kanuri they are united The ibos really need to look at their attitude .This notion Yoruba have it once we must have it once only makes sense to Ibos. It was not gifted to Yoruba they worked toward it .Abiola won and did so even though Ibos voted No matter what You say Yoruba are not equals of Ibo in Size so stop unnecessary rock measuring You complain about quota system in education but want it in politics Is that not hypocrisy Presidential system is not right for Nigeria and under such a system Ibo cannot be president You do not have the numbers or alliances What you need to do is obvious but you are too arrogant |
Re: The Origin Of Agbor And The Obi Of Agbor by Nobody: 7:35pm On Dec 31, 2022 |
I don't believe an Igbo or a Yoruba should be president, you guys act as if you were the only ones present in the south. Also Fulani always claiming presidency for the north is no excuse for Yoruba monopolising presidency in the south, it may pain some Yoruba to hear this but, you didn't conquer anybody, the fulani conquered a huge chunk of the north, not all but a big part. If anything, I would like to see an Anioma president, and I will welcome that as I welcomed the nomination of general Irabor. Guess why ! Because I am Edo and they are my brothers. |

Like i said, in a situation where one group think they have the advantage of getting more than their fair share, there will always be friction and retrogression. You allude that Nigeria did not start in 1999, which shows that you're not ready for peace but wanna continue the old ways. I have said that the worst thing that happened to Igbos and Yorubas is bringing Biafra back into Nigeria. They would have moved on as separate countries by now Agbor is Igbo whether we like it or not and whatever prejudices Igbos face, Ika people are lumped into those prejudices omonnakoda: |
Re: The Origin Of Agbor And The Obi Of Agbor by Nobody: 7:41pm On Dec 31, 2022 |

Ghostwon822:How old are You? ONLY ONE man Obasanjo has been Yoruba president He did not win his ward The military was his constituency and his boys put him there against Yoruba wish To talk on that evidence,,..... of Yoruba monopoly is wrong. The Yoruba do not need presidency Obasanjo brought no benefit What we want is to govern our space. That is how it was with Awolowo and that is what we want going forward 1 Like |

DMerciful:what is fair? How is that defined 1:1rotation of presidency? So we need quota system? Should that apply to importation and commerce, education or just the president? Do ibos have more than a fair share of electronic and spare parts business? Ibos cannot threaten anyone about peace. If you want presidency you must humble yourselves which is an impossibility we all know. All these threats will not work |

Cantonese:What I find annoying is when some uneducated people like yourself think they can teach actually educated people how to be educated. Your statement here makes no sense. What exactly were you trying to refute or to prove ? What does religion have to do with ethnicity ? What does this have to do with my comment ? I am starting to believe you may be mentally ill. |
