Nigerians don't need residency permits in ECOWAS countries, with your Nigerian passport (which is actually an ECOWAS passport) you can enter and live in any ECOWAS country. Cote D'Ivoire is an ECOWAS country.

I believe you need a resident permit to interview. I’m not certain. But my brother had to get one to interview at the German embassy in one of the ECOWAS countries.

Please I need assistance with this
Darhny:
Good day everyone,

I just got an admission for a 2 year MBA program in USA, with a full tuition coverage (scholarship) for the first year. The tuition fee is $50k per annum, and I’ve an approved Mpower loan of $30k for living expenses for the first year. I’d like to know if the above funding would be sufficient for my visa application process. And I’m meant to resume in August.
Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 17 by Darhny: 7:50pm On Jan 04, 2023
Is there anyone that’s applying for, or has been admitted into Uw-Madison? Please let’s connect

Your start date being earlier than your appointment date will/can get you denied tho. Talking from experience. Ask for extension letter from your school.

When it comes to minors the other parent must consent for you to take them abroad it is an international rule to stop child trafficking.
That said if the children have passports it is assumed that they have consent because for them to be issued passport both parents must be in agreement.
In addition always carry a consent letter from the other parent when traveling out with them.
I will advise you go with it too to the embassy Incase of "incacity".
Better to be over prepared than under prepared.
E get why

NOTE
I CAN GIVE YOU SAMPLES OF CONSENT LETTER WHICH I USE FOR MY KIDS.

Thank you so much.

VO: What do you currently do?
Me: I currently work as the managing director at (mentioned it). It's a family company and a business that deals with importation and wholesaling of different collectibles such as designer wears from turkey, provisions, cosmetics and furnitures. We operate in 3 branches across Nigeria. My duties entails overseeing all activities that goes on in the business. I identify and direct the implementation of business strategy such as branding, marketing and customer feedbacks making sure they are effective and efficient. I also manage the relationship and links we have created with other associates such as the suppliers, distributors, retailers and wholesalers for continuous return and profit in the business. I'm charge of leading, motivating and guiding the sales representatives and mangers across all branches. MBA will provide me with the guidance into leading and directing the business goals.
VO: Have you travelled out of Nigeria ?

VO: Any other country aside USA?
Me: Yes, Benin Republic
VO: Typed for a long time.......
VO: How do you intend to pay for your school?
Me: My mother will be sponsoring me, she has demonstrated she is financially capable to fund my education to the university before I was issued the I-20. She works as a procurement manager at .... oil&gas and her duties entails ... (I listed them) in additional to that, she's is also the general financial manager at the procurement department. My mom is also the CEO and founder of ....(called the company name)., where I currently work as the MD. Like I stated initially the business deals with the importation and wholesaling of designer wears from turkey & UK, provisions, cosmetics and other home items such as furnitures. She operates in 3 branches which are on the mainland(ojo) and island(balogun market) here in Lagos and also a branch in wuse market Abuja. She owns a supermarket, cosmetics store and 4 double store boutique across all branches. Combining both she makes 140million annually.
VO: Gave a long glance at my I-20
VO: sorry we won't be approving you today

On my I-20 the school stated I am required to come for orientation by 7th.
Since visa processing would take more than that, I believe that's what gave me this refusal. They probably concluded I won't meet up as the school required.

Kindly give in your feedbacks. Thanks

You obviously have the exact issue you accuse me of. The bold is EXACTLY my point. You’re asking someone to recommend schools for you so you can busy yourself reading interview transcripts? Tell me you’re intellectually lazy without being anymore explicit. The time taken to type the ridiculous treatises could have been better spent looking up schools for yourself. Google is free bro.

I don't have the same issue with you, I've repeatedly told you what I want. Me reading transcript doesn't stop me from doing other things. You decided in your imagination to create a silly situation, assume that's the reality and make a cheap statement, simply because you lack the ability to understand the comment I made.
Go back to my first comment, take a chilled fanta, read what I wrote there word after word with no rush.

Sorry, sometimes it happens, reprepare and give it a try again.

First possible error, you're switching from Biotechnology to Management, the two courses don't really match, your current work field is off what you studied, also I don't think you gave her reason as to why you decided to switch. Another is, I don't think you should bother yourself with telling her what you graduated with, since she didn't directly ask for that.

Second possible error, the finialcial part I feel the answer is a bit vaporized, you should have included some possible figures and expand your reply.

I might be wrong sha, but if I ever get rejected, I will ask the VO why I was rejected before leaving.

An MBA is traditionally for students from non management background. That wasn’t part of the reason for her visa refusal.

The level of misplaced arrogance… for someone who has never faced a VO for a student visa interview and can’t get himself a school for study… grin grin

To the person whose visa was denied, please ignore much of the nonsense here.

1. She’s going for an MBA, considering the job she described, this fits. She describes being the managing director of a private company, getting an MBA would make perfect sense. The issue of courses matching doesn’t really apply… even doctors earn MBAs here.

2. The response to the financial part is confusing. What does it mean for an answer to be “vaporized”? The OP’s mother earns more than enough to cover an $18,000 deficit.

The most likely reason for the refusal is one the OP herself mentioned. Her visa interview was on the 4th and her orientation is on the 7th. There is no way to grant her a visa in time for her to meet that date. She would simply be turned back at the point of entry. She should have asked the school to give her a letter extending her start date and included that with her I-20.

No, VOs never tell you why you were rejected, they tell you to read the rejection letter they give you.

This is the danger with people thinking they know more than they do, simply because they read a few transcripts.
