For some reason, I tried one African shop online and bought a box of ripe plantain.
It looked like our normal plantain and quite big but tastes like unripe banana. Seems like it's a crossbreed.

The good side of it is that it's good for diabetic people as its not sweet. My family no gree chop am. I dumped everything in the freezer, thinking of what to do with it.

I bought wateryam from the same shop. I saw purple yam online, gonna get it. Ate it a lot.

I didn't grow up with White yam. It's either the traditional types we farm, (not good for pounded yam cos they are not starchy. Sometimes some are a little bit bitter),water yam, purple yam and òna.
I still prefer them.
