Good day guys. A friend of mine applied for Canada visa while in Nigeria and now IRCC asked him to submit his passport but he’s currently out of the country. Can he submit it at where he is or would he have to DHL it to Nigeria? And how long does it take them to stamp passports these days?

Thanks in anticipation.

Okay so, let me break it down. This is my second application I was supposed to resume Fall 2022 but I was refused my visa application.
I’m trying for a second time so

I applied to Humber college for the fall 2023 semester. And they were 3 program choices. I picked Practical nursing, social service worker and occupational therapy assistant. I just got word that I got admitted for the social service worker and waitlisted for practical nursing.

Then I started doing more research and I saw that it was better I studied for a Bachelor degree than do a diploma program for two years.

I don’t want to make mistakes that can affect or make me regret in the future.
I’ve been using my NECO results for applications because I don’t have a WAEC one yet

That’s why I was asking of universities that take NECO as a requirement.

Hello! I just want to kick start my application to study in Canada, I have a Masters in Engineering but graduated with 2-2 in my undergraduate. Can I apply for another masters program (same discipline) in Canada. And pls what is my chance of getting admission. I believe my masters degree shld give me edge since I won't be consider admission if I use only my 2-2 undergraduate degree. Thanks!

Hello guys,

I have an important question.

I already have my study visa for the winter 2023 session. But I cannot be able to resume as it did not come out on time.

Now I have withdraw my application and reapplied for the same course for another intake (September 2023).

Will I need to submit a new visa application if I am offered admission for the same course and the same school with different intake or do I just need to inform ircc on my change in program start date?

Also is this considered as changing DLI? Because I am not changing my school or course.

Please I need professional response to this.

Thank you!

Good morning, A friend got passport request December and submitted the passport 23rd only to discover that the medical hasn't been updated to passed, now she has to miss this January admission and she also has her passport held in Abuja, we have sent webform for the medical to be updated but haven't gotten acknowledgement yet. Has anyone been in this situation before?

@makano
@johnstan
@frankrobin
@anon123
@bullstriker

Other gurus here please what do you suggest? We are really beginning to get scared? We even booked her flight hoping we would have gotten it back. Kindly help with advice or suggestions

I see @bullstriker has replied you.

If I'm to share my opinion, I'm suspecting you're checking the medicals section on the portal and expecting it to change to "medicals passed".
If that's the case then you do not need to worry since the PPR has dropped. Simply forward your PPT to vfs for the stamping and IRCC will update their records themselves. It's good to know you have notified them via webform tho.

You might need to explain what you mean by the ppt is being held and her missing the Jan intake.
If you mean the stamping is taking too long then you might need to contact the vfs location you submitted the ppt, mine took 15 days to send and return.

If she defers the admission, ensure she updates IRCC with her new LOA.

Cheers.

Please is vaccination card or covid test still required to travel to Canada. If yes what Hospital can in Lagos (on the island ) can we use. Called a few and they kept saying they are not giving vaccines

No, it's not required, I travelled without it.

However, upon arrival and in search for part-time jobs some employers require you to be fully vaccinated before they can offer you the job.

Cheers.

Good morning everyone

Once you defer admission and send the updated admission letter and coop letter( for those who have) to IRCC through email and webform and you get this mail are you good to go?

@makano
@johnstan
@frankrobin
@anon123
@bullstriker

Yea, If you're used to sending webforms/emails to IRCC prior to this, you will immediately know that this is the generic response acknowledging the receipt of your documents so you can be rest assured that they were received.

Cheers.

Instead of withdrawing and reapplying, you should have just deferred to the 2023 intake. If that’s what you did then that’s fine.

You don’t have to submit a new application because it’s still the same DLI. All you just need to do is send a webform & email with the new LOA.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 6:20pm On Jan 11, 2023
I replied to your initial email but did not hear from you. Could you try sending me another message?
Changing programs is acceptable; the most important thing is to emphasize why you want to study the program. It is easier to convince the VO when the intended program is related to your current occupation. So, I suggest you go with a program related to your current job.
Simti:
Hello,

I hope this message meets everyone well?

I wanted to inquire if it is ok if an application was refused based on the course of study not being online with the current career/ previous to change course in a new application?

Is it possible to stick with that same course and explain the rationale behind going for that course with a detailed LOE?
Or change course entirely?

I feel changing course will give them the perception that 1 does not know what he/she is doing.
Please I need advice.

I have a bachelors in Economics and intend to go for a second degree in public health which is for two years cos it is basically for folks that intend to change career path which I explained in my sop but I guess I did not take my time to explain it .

@ bullstriker
Please o have been trying to get in touch with you to no avail. Can I have your direct contact to communicate better with you?

Thank you

@ johnstan has answered you in details.
It’s not because of the medical. I believe she will get it soon; it takes longer with VFS Lagos.
Sammmypoko:

She got PPR December and submitted passport 23rd, VFS sent her a mail of acknowledgement but up till now she has not gotten the passport. The agent said the medical has not been updated to pass. She's a second time applicant though.
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by bullstriker: 6:23pm On Jan 11, 2023
The frame size is 35 mm x 45 mm, but the standard passport size in Nigeria is acceptable. IRCC is not strict on passport photographs regarding temporary residence applications.

Bamz555:
Hello house pls is there any passport photograph size specification? I want to take passport photograph for visa application

Yes, it's related. You can consider the following program if you want a 2-year program in HRM, and I can help you apply.
Postgraduate Diploma
Post-Baccalaureate Diploma - Human Resources Management
Okanagan College - Kelowna, BC
Tuition Fee
$14,730.00 CAD

Godpikin4:
Thank you for your response. I intend to go for PGD in Human Resource Management...I currently work as a customer service executive.

Do you think this demonstrates progression?

Yes, you will receive 3 years of PGWP if you complete 2 one-year programs
Chibzzy789:

@bullstriker, thanks for all you do here. Due to lesser funds, can one apply for a one year graduate program, complete that and do another one year program to make 2 years in order to be eligible for a 3 years PGWP. Thanks

Thanks much for your response, she's meant to resume Monday 9th of January, she got PPR December 22 and submitted PPT on the 23rd, she got 3 email so far from VFS but she hasn't gotten the one that says it's ready. She tracked it today and it's still saying it's under process. Centennial college gave her till 14th to submit her study permit and 16th to be in class physically. Her passport has been held in Abuja VFS since December 23rd. What can we do?

Thanks for this info sir, what do you suggest we do sir? Should we go to VFS abuja or VFS Lagos where we submitted?

bullstriker:
IRCC will not approve your study permit if you have not passed the medical. Unfortunately, medical updates may not be visible on the online account due to technical glitches.
Some of my clients that submitted their passports in late December are receiving them now. Remember, IRCC offices were closed during the Holidays.
What do you mean by a passport held in Abuja?

Is anyone doing the University of Winnipeg? I tried paying the application fee, but my Access Bank Dollar card wouldn't work and Flywire requires a Student Number, if you have experienced similar, please kindly share.

After getting a passport request from IRCC you can submit your passport at any Canada visa application centre ( VAC) in your current location for Visa stamp. It is very important to take along with you a copy of the passport request letter.
