Another simple question. This a question I believe one of our friends asked you. Is every possession-based system tiki-taka?

I clearly used the term (Possession heavy football). There is a reason for the term heavy. I posted an excerpt from Quora and he clearly used the term heavy.

Possession Heavy football is tiki-taka. Then we have different variants of it. Guardiola's tiki-taka is the base. Then coaches learning it and adapting their strategies to it led to the variants of tiki-taka.

Finito.

Are you afraid to say Kompany deploys tiki-taka? cheesy grin. What the hell does similar mean? The article says having seen Pep's methods for four years, Kompany employs a heavy possession system. No comments on whether it's tiki-taka or not. Again there are several systems that are possession-based but quite different from tiki-taka.

The bolded is Tiki-Taka. It is as clear as daylight.

Dani Alves has been sentenced to prison without bail for allegedly r*ping a 23 year old at a night club in Barcelona on 30th December last year. He will be transferred to jail.

So sad mehn

Not prison, he has not been found guilty of anything. They just arrested him and the judge refused to grant bail. He is charged with inappropriately touching a young lady in a night club.

Man Utd Legend Andy Cole speaks on wanting Osimhen at Man Utd.

"You want to be getting crosses into Weghorst, rather than getting him away in behind. I think Victor Osimhen at Napoli is very good and could be the long-term natural fit. The question is whether Napoli would be prepared to let him go."

"Heโ€™s rangy, got a good first touch, scores goals and is a decent size as well. I watched him play against Liverpool and he was more than prepared to link the play and then run in behind."

This is why I say you are not a serious person. He mentioned heavy Possession-based, but did he say heavy possession-based means tiki-taka? You are not serious at all. Nobody who knows their onions says heavy Possession-based means tiki-taka. It simply means the system requires that players keep over 60% of the possession. I remember Van Gaal at Man Utd was keeping over 60% of possession consistently, but no one who knows their football would say it was tiki-taka. The very interesting person you are. You don't seem to understand that articles can be riddled with exaggerations. You have to actually read the entire thing to understand and see through the ruse. All you look for is an emphasis. Do you understand that the use of such words can be quite misleading?

Besides does anyone know a system better than the person using it? I showed you an article where Kompany in his interview with Ferdinand, said he would rather call my system "Possession with impact", not Possession tikitaka. Pls, do not tell me you know Kompany's system better than he does, cos that would be quite interesting. cheesy

Nathan Tella strikes again!!!

The Inevitable scoring wing forward of the Championship. Beautiful goal it was too. How he attacks the Half spaces and the gap between CB and Fullback is just Beautiful to behold. Baller!

His goal brings Kompany's Burnley level vs West Bromwich Albion. Ajayi on the bench.

9 goals and 2 assists now in 25 League games (19 starts).
In someone's voice here, "he has found his level". Tomorrow his voice will be like. I advised him to drop a level to reinvent himself.

You are spending more time attacking me than making any point. Also, I doubt you even read a bit of the answer to what Kompany meant. Read again. Kompany was not differentiating his play from Guardiola but confirming Guardiola's stance.

TheGoodJoe:

โ€œPossession with impact,โ€ is how Kompany described his style to Rio Ferdinandโ€™s Five podcast last year. โ€œI include impact so I donโ€™t get put down as just possession, tiki-taka.

โ€œI like mobility and runs to free up people between the lines and choose if you want to play between the lines or deep (over the top). I have to have an aggressive team.โ€

Now you brought this up to try and say he, Kompany is different from Guardiola. cheesy grin cheesy grin

However, will you say Guardiola's Barcelona did not play with impact? Will Messi have scored those amount of goals and Barcelona dominate teams with loads of goals without playing with impact?

Kompany is actually echoing Guardiola's idea. Guardiola does not like the tiki taka term because there is more to the game than just passing. He did not say my Barcelona team was just passing. Guardiola was pointing out that the team did more than just passing.

That is why I coined that team possession heavy football.

Under Pep Guardiola, the biggest thing Kompany learnt was the importance of using and creating space through off-the-ball movement. Stretching the pitch using the full-backs creates more space between the lines for his attacking midfielder. Kompany wants those players to be mobile and technical.

At this point of the article, it is elaborated what playing with impact is. And guess what? It is in black and white that Kompany learnt how to play possession heavy football with an impact from Guardiola. So the article you posted as usual, clearly counters the idea of Kompany being different from Guardiola.

I loathe all that passing for the sake of it, all that tiki-taka. It's so much rubbish and has no purpose. You have to pass the ball with a clear intention, with the aim of making it into the opposition's goal.

It's not about passing for the sake of it.

Be yourselves. You need to dig into your own DNA. I hate tiki-taka. Tiki-taka means passing the ball for the sake of it, with no clear intention. And it's pointless.... Guardiola.

This goes down as one the biggest misconceptions in modern analytical football.

Many thought Guardiola was running down the way he played with Barcelona and was abandoning it.

However, they missed the concluding part of the Statement.

Don't believe what people say. Barca didn't do tiki-taka!... Guardiola.

That is why Kompany used possession with impact to differentiate himself from he misconception.

That is where I simplified it. Tiki Taka means passing the ball excessively but Guardiola hates thar idea because there is a reason for each pass and an aim to achieve something with it. It was not passing for fun.

This leads possession heavy football. However with an impact. I still term Tiki Taka as possession heavy football to achieve dominance on the field and in goals.

Styles that stem from it is what I termed variant.

cc: benji93 still waiting for your point.
