Gbam! Respect! Itaewon is the Koko!

I think this OP did not visit South Korea. He or she is just making this up for traffic.

Korea has very strict visa and entry requirements for Nigerian passport

I decided to travel to South Korea last year after developing a huge wanderlust to visit the country. I visited Seoul, Jeonju, Boseong, Namwon and Busan.

I found it to be a very beautiful country. Some of my favourite things include the food, ease of transportation around the country and Korean architecture. I will start off this thread with how I got my visa and how to travel from Nigeria to South Korea.

Feel free to ask me any questions about visiting South Korea. Please note that I do not know much about moving there. I will only be able to respond to questions about visiting as a tourist.

I hope you enjoy the stories. I will post as fast as I can but might be slow too... smiley
Av been there ...food is terrible n tins are xpensive.

Wow, I slept and woke up and soooooo many comments!!! Thanks for following this adventure guys! I'm still catching up on all the mentions and I will respond to the questions one by one.

For now, let me just give a general response before I continue the story

- Food: Generally, I enjoyed this. Many things I tasted aligned well with my Nigerian tastebud. I can be a little selective when it comes to food but I did not have any problems eating in SK

- Green Tea Ice cream and why I didn't like it - I have a sweet tooth and expect ice cream to taste sweet. This one tasted a bit bitter. Someone mentioned herbs - that's the best way to describe it.

- Racism - Personally, I didn't experience this. Passing through immigration took less than 5 minutes (I was shocked by this cos I expected them to pull me aside and grill me). People I met were nice and friendly. Some didn't speak English, others did. When I needed help, I got it and they were kind.

This was my personal experience, which may differ from other people's experiences.

But then I have strong reasons to suspect that you never really visited any of these places, hence you've decided to keep yourself out of all the photos you have so far uploaded.

I'm glad that you didn't fall for a Nigerian man. We are some of the stupidest breeds in this world.

They've messed up your thread already.

I advise that you quit Nairaland because the bulk of its users don't deserve to share in your experiences. Before you leave, tell us how you met Mark. Seems like a romantic story for the ages.

Before I quit this thread (after reading some of your funny comments), I'll just clarify a few things:

- I'm a reader of the Nairaland Travel Section - it's the only section I read or contribute to on Nairaland. Many people had been talking about wanting to read a destination post and I decided to share one of my trips so as not to be too passive here. Obviously a big mistake, lol
- I travel on a Nigerian passport - as a matter of fact, it is the only passport I have
- I take 99% of my pictures with my Samsung Phone and edit them with Lightroom.
- My blog gets enough traffic as it is. I tried to make my post here original for Nairaland. Even if it doesn't, I write for myself. So whether or not you visit, makes no difference to me.

I saw someone post a google photo of my exact photo. If you cared to look carefully, you would have seen that it came from my blog.

Anyway, back to becoming a passive Nairaland Travel Section reader. I think that's the best way to 'enjoy' this platform.

have you applied for a visa before?
if you haven't then you can't just assume. most of the time we Nigerians have brainwashed ourselves to believe that everything must be difficult and hard even without first trying.
i don't see anything difficult, all the papers and documents these so-called difficult embassies demand are usually normal things but because we are not use to getting things easy we always believe even if we present those documents they will refuse. well at times it may be so, but I have heard and seen many people who didn't present any serious documents and yet they got USA,UK, etc visas

Hangumal aro? Bro, I criss-crossed Kimpo before they built incheon. Lived in harbangchon before they built noksanpyeong.

The above tells you a whole lot.

South Korean visa and entry is not easy.

My question again… did you use a Nigerian passport or just blogging for traffic?

Why are you people always unfortunate Why? You curse this country too much. We know you can never be successful in Nigeria, but who tie you down? Why don't you just leave? Everything must be compared to Nigeria. For a country that has done so much for you. Gave you free education, you don't pay tax like other countries. Food is cheap or almost free, Internet is cheap or almost free but you chose to show ingratitude.

This is one of the mad people I was talking about. Bros change your weed supplier ASAP. It's obvious your brain is malfunctioning. change your weed and loud supplier

You are a slowpoke sir, I can tell you vividly that Ghanais overrated, the only fine place in Ghana (Accra) is the Airport road where they have plenty hotels like Marriot.. Every other place in Ghana is like Awka, especially the Eastern region in Ghana... I stayed in a hotel in Pretoria Avenue Eastern region... Lagos, Uyo, Port Harcourt, Kano and Abuja are all finer than the,
Whole of Ghana

You seriously need to change your weed supplier ASAP bro. Your brain is malfunctioning man! Change your loud and weed supplier before it gets worst

it was a corporate trip. we had a translator. The hotel we stayed was an International Hotel, the receptionists understood passable English. Every morning, they would print the city map and and mark the hotel and where we were going to and hail taxi for us. Kia vehicles, beautiful cars. Their taxis have the electronic billing system. Once we stop, we see the amount and pay. And the translator takes over all day. She was hired for us, a Korean studying English in the university. We were always together throughout the 2vweeks we stayed, u dare not stroll alone.
Nice experience though.
Pls what year was that?

I don't think is like that today

I hate when these people try to defend this dead country like...

One of the problems is most of the population don't know where they are supposed to be or the standard they should be living currently. They have successfully deceived them with the giant of Africa tag, that's why most Nigerians still think we are the best country in Africa grin

But why do Nigeria like building roads with open gutters, hate that shit😭

Great! I've never been there before despite having partners there. I look forward to visting someday. Though a friend who's a senior manager at Samsung said there's nothing so exciting about the country . He said he almost puked after eating their food lolz

I’ve been to South Korea. Spent two weeks there. I love the country, beautiful scenery and landscape. I lodged at a hotel in Iteawon because I wanted to be close to my Ibo brothers. I visited Busa, Samsung yard in Geoje, All the markets in Seoul, Changdeokgung Palace, Seoul Tower, Bukchon Hanoi Village, Lotte World, Seoul National Museum, trick eye museums, etc. I ran out of cash, I would have visited Jeju Island, heard it’s an interesting place too.

"A rich man living in a country with many poor people is also considered a poor man outside his country" - Peter Obi.

That you enjoy constant electricity does not mean the entire country's residents do. So because some people don't experience the atrocities of Fulani herdsmen, does that negate what those in Southern Kaduna, Plateau and Benue face daily? Until the vast majority of Nigerians experience 24-hours electricity, then we can say Nigerians know what constant electricity is. Or should then say because some people don't experience fuel scarcity, it means fuel scarcity does not exist in Nigeria?
funny enough I don’t experience fuel scarcity I enter any station no matter the queue from back gate and buy my fuel.to survive in Nigeria u must package yourself.
