Sorry about this and this is like the 3rd time I think I am hearing a passport request was was sent and while the applicant submits for stamping the request Will be denied and passport will not be stamped due to denial of application which is strange.
I will advise you order CBSA NOTE immediately to find out what really went wrong and the visa officer's concerns.

Secondly depending on the reason for sudden denial after sending passport request, you may require the services of an immigration lawyer.

Omo this is terrible. After running the race to the last stage. What may be the problem.

Nothing is sure until you get cleared at the POE. Even after that...

Do you mean immigration consultant?
quote author=babineli post=120536732]

Please would advice you to use an immigration lawyer and don’t always rely on the update you see on naira land, when you have a concern issues like this just allow an immigration lawyer to guide you through. I know you trying to reduce cost but it’s safe to use a lawyer.

Yes, I’m also gonna use one even if it’s expensive, most of my friends use them and they got the visa. They change $800 and reside in Canada.

Hello guys. Please I'm new here on this thread. I already got an admission from a school in Canada, paid tuition deposit. I'm just about to build my POF so I can start my visa process. My problem is this. Our family friend is sending the POF for us. How do we quote this? Since its coming in lump sum. My hubby has some funds though in his salary account ( its just a minute sum) which is what we're using. He earns good salary monthly cos he works with an oil and gas company. How do we narrate the money our family friend is lending us so to remove suspicion. Do we tell him to write on his transfer narration that it's money from the sale of our land? Please advice .e what to do. Thanks

I'll appreciate your replies guys

Hi, please how did you pay your tuition deposit?
Re: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 22 by Legitmenaija: 4:26am On Feb 01, 2023
Please i need help.

We contacted my cousin based in Canada so he can help me pay my fees to the school while we fund him back. (he is not borrowing us ooo. We are to send the money to him first).

But he ended up like ruining everything by telling my mum that we should forget about school route, that i should consider using the immigration route so my kids and i can go together.

He said that the possibility of me getting a Visa is slim to non because i have no travel history.

He also said that i will suffer working while schooling because its extremely stressful

The original plan was that i will go alone while my kids will stay with my mother (i'm a single mum).

Guys please is it true i may not e given visa because i haven't traveled before?

Lastly, i intended using an IRCC certified immigration consultant to handle my visa application.

The turn of events is just confusing me.

From what i read, express entry route takes years before it works out.

Congratulations.

You didnt have to paint your friend in a bad light. I am sure he did his best for you. No need denigrating him and then saying all that. You think he does not have need for money? You too will soon enter the abroad and see that it is more difficult to have spare funds to dole out to people either in the form of loan or dash.

I have returned to share the good news on behalf of my wife!!!
It's PPR
God came through for us!!

I came to Nairaland in search of direction and guidance. I have been on the journey for ages and no one could help me financially, so I gave up. After a long while close pals that are in Canada advised me that since I can now afford it, I should try and join them in Canada. I tried and got admission in 2015/16, but I opted out again considering the fact that I am now married and it will be difficult to school, work, and work extra to care for the family I will be leaving behind. Again, I opted out.

Fast forward to 2021, two of my close pals (same friends) encouraged me to make a move now. They believe that I can comfortably pay the fees now. Well, this time around, I changed the narrative. I applied for my wife to study while I sponsor her.

She got admitted and we started looking for information and the best way to get SP. My good friend who persuaded me to start the journey again was there and feeding me with information bit by bit. But because of my person who knows Nairaland as far back as 2007, I fell back here to search for more information. I don't like to be at the mercy of any man. I started digging and reading timelines. I asked questions 2 or 3 times. I also mistakenly mentioned to my friend that I saw a different view from his in Nairaland. This got him mad and started treating me poorly. I got to a point, I felt it was time to do this thing on my own. I didn't contact him any longer and if he ask me about the process, I just tell him, we are waiting on God. in between, I had good savings, but money is never enough, so I mistakenly asked him and the other of my friend to help with payment of my wife first-semester fee while I kept my money I already saved as POF. I didn't intend to touch it till she leaves. This also caused another bad blood. Two of them turned their back on me w.r.t. money. If you really love your friends, I will advise, you should avoid asking for money from them. Money spoils relationships a lot.

We got admitted in March 2022, but we submitted the application in September 2022 because I want to satisfy my conscience that the money we had was well above what is needed.

It's one year program that is to commence in winter 2023. We paid the first-semester fee and showed a POF of over 13mil. After the application, I removed my mind completely till the allotted time for SP finishes before sending webform. This is not to say we were not checking her email. I raised just one webform on the 12th of December 2022 informing IRCC that the allotted time for review (60/90 days) has elapsed. I didn't hear from them on the 12th and 13th, but on the 14th day of December 2022, my wife's email got a new mail. The email address was strictly for this process. So, I hurriedly opened it on my phone and you need to see the joy overflowing in me.

Majority of the documents I gathered as supporting documents (i.e. a letter of reference from my company to a letter of reference from where she volunteered) I forgot to upload. These were key documents, but God proves Himself...

God will not share His glory with any man.

Her Timeline
Upfront Medical: 20th July 2022 at IOM Lagos
Submitted: 13th September 2022
Biometrics: 19th September 2022
Biometrics: uploaded on 06th October 2022
Background check: 06th October 2022
Medicals passed: 23rd September 2022
Original Passport Request: 14th December 2022
Review of eligibility: 22nd December 2022
Final Decision: 22nd December 2022
POE: 23rd December 2022

Before I forget, we didn't get any notification via mail or on her IRCC Account apart from upfront medical passed and Biometrics. every other notification was updated after the Original Passport Request of 14th December 2022.

Our Covenant highway came earlier than expected.

My final word here to all, everybody's situation is peculiar, though you can have one or two situations that look the same.

To all those waiting, the GOD that did this for us will do for you. Just have faith and believe.

See you all on the other side SOWP and Study Permits for kids.

Using an immigration Lawyer can be quite expensive. You can go through the materials here and do it yourself or use an immigration consultant. A registered one oh.

You are already asking your friend for school fees to be paid back. How are you then going to get funds to make all the payments? Why don't try the Express Entry or dozens of other immigration routes available? While study visas are fast, it is only a small percentage that are being approved.

Hello sir, how long does the express entry route take? Assuming all factors are stable and funds isn't a problem.
My cousin said if we start now, before December, it will work out.

Summary of my profile below.
My first degree is in Medical Laboratory Science and i have been working since i graduated in 2008.

I have 3 kids.

(i really do want to study though and advance my career. I have MSc offers from UK schools. Should i just leave the whole Canada thing and go UK and study Masters in Biomedical science then start processing for Canada express entry from there?)

My head is full

So confused at this point.

Congratulations to me again

I got my PPR on 19th January 2023

I promised to come back and share my timeline because the following week was my wedding (28th January 2023). It was really a targeted and timely prayer answered

It was my second time applying for Canada study permit.

My first application was in May 17 2022 and I got refusal in Sept 22nd 2022 on the basis of finance and personal asset. I paid part payment tuition and I used a sponsor to show proof of fund. I didn't include any property or asset. My program is professional/vocational training course that will last for 77weeks at Toronto school of management. (Although It is not Pgwp approved, but I used this school because the program suits my profile alot so I was convinced I will not find it difficult with IRCC on other reasons except finance. I also have my plans how to navigate to PR)

I have already written my timeline for the first application. Kindly check my profile.

What I did differently in my second application

I reapplied on November 11, without receiving GCMS note report. I believed I knew what the problem was. So I took the step.

1. I paid full tuition for 52weeks(1year)
2. My sponsor sent Dollars to my Dom Account which I used to buy GIC and also to show proof for remaining tuition (25weeks)

3. I bought GIC through CIBC for 14970 USD (Wanted doing 15k but due to international bank charges it went down)

3. I showed 5000USD bank statement in my Dom Account to cover the remaining 25weeks tuition of about 4600CAD. I did MBS. ( Please ensure to do MBS while showing your proof of fund)

4. I drafted gift of deed for 2storey building 'given' to me by my late father, with the help of a lawyer, notorized and stamped. Please Make sure you add a Survey plan in this kind of deed of gift.

5. I drafted a car receipt with Custom clearing documents.

6. My sponsor also wrote a sponsorship letter to show that she sent the money to me and also promised to give me more.

7. Make sure there is a substantial connection between you and your sponsor. In my case, my sponsor is my fiance and not a Nigerian. I showed many other documents to show our intention of getting married. Our Pictures, application document for our court marriage, her approved visa to Nigeria for the wedding, family and friends consent (all notorized) etc.

8. I only did 1page letter of explanation. But also included my previous SOP with a little update and all other documents I sent in my first application. No amount of document is too much for IRCC. Anything relevant you can lay your hands on, please send them 😂.

9. My pension was just 800k

10. I took part fully in the 14days praying and fasting of my church from 9th January to 22nd January 2023. Las las without God, your documents is like ordinary paper.

God is faithful. I am so happy. I asked God for my wedding gift and also I asked God to give me my own testimony before the end of the fast. God did it. I am very happy. There is nothing God can not do.

Please note, if you send me email or Whasapp regarding assisting you , kindly go straight with your questions. I will be glad to assist. But I may not be replying hi , hello, or casual chatting please. 🙏

Sounds like your cousin doesn't want you to come to Canada. Telling you that the possibility of getting a visa because of no travel history is a loophole to show he doesn't want you to come. I used a registered IRCC immigration expert and things are working out well. Dont let anyone fool you.

With regards to working and schooling, i really do not mind at least its not forever.

Its a 2 year program inclusive of 4 months work placement.

I beg to disagree, the primary aim is to study, which is why you have POF to cater for your expenses- this assertion that schooling and working will be hard is when the student is relying on earnings from work to take care of your expenses. If the student truely has the POF they claim they have then they will be fine.

I would say this , process the express entry thingy from Nigeria if you have all the requirements and patience(You would probably need to write IELTS, evaluate your certificate with WES, etc.) or proceed with your Canada study plan.

Another question please

Can i go ahead and be processing the study Visa and also the express entry? So which ever one works out first, i move with it.

Will there be consequences?

Please someone respond.

Thank you sir.

How long does the express entry visa take?

With regards to working and schooling, i really do not mind at least its not forever.

Its a 2 year program inclusive of 4 months work placement.

6 to 12 months (from what I just read )

Hi Legit.

Please your cousin does not really want to assist you, that is why he/she is saying what they said.
1. Travel history is not a requirement for study permit.
2. Express entry will require you to write IELTS with high scores, evaluate your credentials, hope that age is on your side for you to get a high score when you enter the pool.
3. EE relies on your work experience too as marks are allocated based on the number of years you have worked. - From what you said that you started working in 2008, my guess will be that your age will be between 35-40. This is a drawback on EE, it means you have to score very high in IELTS and have a masters degree to have good score.

Check online for express entry simulation tool and put your details to know what your score will be when you enter the pool.
