I think people up the club hierarchy are invested in the guy and worked underground to help him. The way they responded to the issue and told him to go dark immediately the issue happens was classic high class crisis management that Greenwood himself and his management ordinarily can't afford. Like Olivia pope kind of scandal management professionals managed it for him.

You are right brother. But martial is not reliable. Injured when you need him the most.. From ETH’s interviews he values versatility. Greenwood has got that. He can be the cover for both CF and the RW roles. And he’s a more direct player than Antony on RW..

We might still keep Weghorst as a different option at 9. Cos Martial now gives us 2 months tops until he gets injured again…

I'm sure or atleast I hope the club have been preparing for the possible outcomes of the Greenwood issue. Hopefully they have a plan and will release a statement soon.

Some of the fan base and twitter fan accounts just ranting about academy player are just living in their own fantasy. When clubs with the best academy, who dominate academy level sef struggle to break in players into their first team. The few ones that got in turn out mediocre.
