The procedure is u must fill a cbn form received a code and then go to any bank and deposit not more than 500k and it ends on the 20th or so.

Old 500 and 1000 naira notes are no longer legal tender. The reason for this is to ease the pressure on CBN.

Once you deposit your old 500 and 1000 at commercial bank. You can't collect it back. You can't you the old 500 and 1000 naira for transaction because nobody will collect it from you.
