The first settlers and dwellers of Lagos state were the the people of Edo state, when it was named Eko.

Later on, the Awori people also migrated in large numbers and suppressed the Edo people.

But I spent most of my years in Nigeria because my mom was a Nigerian, we've properties both in Lagos and other Southern state. I've been with various Nigerian tribes, but one of the tribe my dad warned me about is biafran tribe.

We were trained to obey the law of the land, and respect the indigents . No matter how wealthy you think you're, never you go to another man's land and insult them, when they fight back you'll lose what you had on their land, including your wife if she was their daughter.

Lagos is Yoruba land. And is part of the south-western states.
The awori's were part of the indigenous tribes that occupied the area before the coming of the europeans and amalgamation of the Nigerian state. These awori's are descended from Yoruba's according to them. Whether peoples great grand parents migrated there and have generations there or not it doesn't change this fact. Other tribes of Nigeria contributed to the development of this state making it a commercial hub for the country.
That being said,it doesn't call for the demeaning of other ethnicities that now live with Yoruba's in Lagos,its not just Igbo's living in Lagos,other tribes,the Lebanese,Chinese and others do business there too. People cease opportunities to destroy other peoples business and properties and even threaten their life's openly, because they are from else where,this is uncalled for.
