Stop complaining... At least u dey see money that's the most important thing..

Some guys for this country no dey see any shishi...

You can also rent and live together with people to reduce ya bill... Indians do it a lot..

E go beta.

Me wey dey here, I broke and frustrate die... Been thinking about getting crack..

Gandy04 is the same person as Timesuploaded. This guy has been a thorn in innocent Nairaland flesh who wants a better life for themselves. He goes about creating different usernames to discourage people, and then jump on the thread to comment with his real account to make it seems it's a different person.

He has been doing this for long. You can see, he has deactivated the new account. He will come up again with a different one in a few days times.

This is more like a jobless fellow cuz I don't understand why a full grown man will be creating different usernames and be coming up with imaginary stories of how people suffer in abroad, how they can't meet up with bills, how those in Nigeria are doing better than them.

All these he does for free o. I am quite surprised o. Cuz I doubt if he is receiving salary at the end of the month to be doing all of these quite for a very long time now. Immediately I saw his comment, I knew he was the one.

There are many financial facilities you can enjoy in US. Banks will be offering you with loans and credit facilities once you have a good credit score...It's automatic. Many people make it big through this route, couple with their works. Some Nigerians have low self-esteem and look down on others making it. You don't travel abroad and hope to make money while sleeping. I only sleep 5 hours in a day, the rest na work and driving. Not easy, but you make your money. You work well, have good business and stay out of trouble...you are good to go. Once I am on vacation in naija I enjoy my life to the fullest. Back to US, na work, work and work. That's life. smiley

Bro I Love how u break everything down...no food for lazy man over there....i would love to have a business discussion that needs a financier like you...you are not sending me no funds....you follow up my proposal and fund it yourself and only send me my share as agreed...its basically about Lite coin mining and naijas electricity cant make it beneficial from here in naija...I hope you will love to hear me out so I reach out to you on a dead thread

That is more than possible and possibly on the average consumption these days.

Just moved, and gas alone is costing me about £40 every couple days. The first 2 days in my new home, I spent £60 on gas and electric, about another 40 pounds.

Been living here about 6 weeks now and I reckon I would have spent about £600 on gas and electricity.

In summary, inflation is biting everywhere

Traveling abroad especially America has been a disaster for so many Nigerians. In 3 months it becomes clear that Nigeria is a trillion times better than America and Canada. In over 40yrs of this great mistake I have never seen a Nigerian who made it in America or Canada. Even those who sold their houses and retired back to Nigeria after 40yrs of working abroad can't retire back with $1million which is chicken change in present day Nigeria. This is one nightmare the new generation must avoid

Anybody that read your post will think Nigeria is an El Dorado, most of you have this mentality that once I Jaba, I will begin to pick money on the streets, but you must also hustle your way out, the good news is that you can take up more than one job, unless you are the lazy type...

Also another issue is the mentality of always converting whatever you spend to naira and you begin to shout that "this guys want to kill us with billings" but in the right sense you earn and spend in dollars or pounds or whatever currency used by that country...

A lawless country like Nigeria and you said it's better than America and Canada a trillion times, Kai...I wonder what you have been smoking tho, but I will need your supplier...!!

It's well Sha. I just hope they're not lying with all these things they're saying

To be fair, that is on you. What do you do for a living? What visa are you on? What kind of people do you associate with? Which country you dey sef?

What those people are saying is possible especially if they are single or even married, have good jobs, save, invested and diversified. Basically, they played the long game of delayed gratification.

60 pounds? shocked shocked shocked

Are you sure you are not underpaying and in debit? Especially with the cold weather we've been having.

I do need to check though, I'm in the middle of switching from Bulb to EDF but unfortunately the meters at my home are prepayment. So they kind of have me by the balls as I have to top-up before using either utilities.

And I'm being mucked around because the prepayment meter was there before I moved in and trying to get a credit meter will not be until my switch is complete ( something which should take three weeks is now 7 weeks and counting angry
And i have no idea whether the previous occupants had an existing debt on the meter which could account for why my money is just disappearing.

My brother, I'm in sifia pains right now with how much its costing me.😢😢😢

A particular moderator on nairaland travel thread is beefing me simply because I'm doing better than him. Days ago, I shared about my desires to travel to Canada. And because of jealousy, I was blocked from posting there.

Since I clocked 37years last year, I've been thinking seriously about my life. It then dawned on me that I have to leave this Nigeria for good. Many opportunities abound abroad. And I don't need to work before I become a millionaire over there And start my own company. Ordinarily, I admire the white people. Because they don't sin, lie, not corrupt and they're the most sane individual on earth. If given chance, I can eat poo so far it's from white people.

However, I don't have the means to travel out and I'm hoping a white man adopt me from Nigeria and take me abroad. I'll start working and giving him my salary. I can also sell my properties to relocate, but my friends advised against this.

The modafvcker wants a white man to adopt him - a 40 year old adult.

That is your life outside!

irumole1975:
The problem is that after I gain their attention, they run after knowing I'm broke and even jobless What's surprising me is that my friend who is terribly bad looking, but have a good business of his own have many girls flanking him, that he used to even arrange girls and sponsor them to come to me... Why why why

How person go pay $357 for electricity

He might or might not be, we don’t know enough to tell. His dwelling may be all electric rather than a gas/electric combination. Depends on where he lives, the size of his living space, and how he prefers to live. If he wants his bill to be cheaper, there are ways he can achieve it.
The cost of electricity depends on your location, the square footage of your dwelling, the amount and types of appliances in the home, the temperature setting and use of the AC/Heating system, etc. my house is two floors, all electric. I charge my car at home, run my security and alarm system, change the temperature on my thermostat with changes in weather in order to remain comfortable, keep my hot water tank at a certain setting, etc. so my billing reflects that. Others take cost cutting measures that allows for cheaper billing and it may suit them because they spend less time at home and use less power.

How person go pay $357 for electricity

To repeat myself, billing for electricity depends on the size of the dwelling and the person living in it. Some people have a combination of gas and electricity so their electricity is cheaper, some run only on electricity which is higher. This is my current bill. My house is all electric. There are things that I can do to curb my use and get it cheaper but for now, my usage suits my lifestyle better. I do know people with small bills a tad bit over $100, some in between, and some more expensive than my billing.
See the differences with my usage in the picture below. In January, I had houseguests who were home when I wasn’t, I heated the pool a few times in order to use it, and charged my car more because I traveled further for work. Those things made January’s bill lower. My September 2022 bill was below $200 because I was out of town the larger part of the month.
